MILLIONS OF MILLIONS AND ONE SNOWFLAKE

This tale of snowflakes and white lilies was told to me by the wind. He is familiar with all the snowflakes in the world, and met with white lilies only this summer.
But the fairy tale of the wind is not about summer, but about winter, when only scaly bulbs remain from white lilies and they lie in the ground, covered with dry leaves.
The blue-eyed girl spread the leaves. She looked after the lilies all summer, and when the earth began to freeze, the girl became worried - would the lilies come to life in the spring? Every morning she came to the big round flower bed and looked anxiously at the ground; then to heaven.
And there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
But then one morning a huge dark cloud appeared.
And the snowflake sisters lived in this cloud - small, elegant. All beauty. But one is the most beautiful of all: in the middle she has a cake with six corners, and from the corners - rays. And each beam is carved so that it looks like a cheerful Christmas tree with branches raised to the sky. And it's all so transparent, so shiny! It was a miracle how good this snowflake was, and the sisters called her Khoroshinka.
- Come to us, Khoroshinsky, - let me admire you, - the snowflakes called her from one side of the cloud, then from the other.
Khoroshinka would just be glad that it was so pleasant to look at her, but she became proud. Her sisters will call her to play, and Khoroshinsky answers:
- Only, chur, I will drive!
The snowflake sisters always agreed. And in fact, does it really matter who drives first?
But the further, the more capricious Khoroshinsky became. She sees that the sisters are starting a game, she deliberately runs off to the side and circles there alone until they run after her and start begging:
- Come, sister, to us! Without you, the game is not a game!
Khoroshinka will hardly allow herself to be persuaded. And once the sisters did not manage to persuade her. She became capricious, pouted, and she herself thinks: “Let, let the game be upset.”
And the game is not upset. The sisters persuaded Khoroshinsky, persuaded, but suddenly one of them - a mischievous girl with a broken beam - shouted:
- Well, let! Doesn't want to - don't! And we won't be bored without it! Come on, sisters, reckon who to drive!
Then all the snowflakes screamed:
- Count! Count!
And they fled.
The good one was left alone. That's the story! And cheerful voices are heard from afar:
- Wind, and cold, and snow, and water, -
Wind and cold and ice.
Get out, get out, you drive!
What a shame it was for Khoroshinka! Yes, you can’t even cry: if you cry, you will melt.

The little sisters lived happily in their native cloud. But the time has come to leave it: to descend to the ground. Snowflakes are not afraid. They heard a lot about the earth from the wind, and they wanted to see it with their own eyes.
- Think, sisters, - the earth is not at all transparent!
- Think, the earth stands so firmly in its place that even the wind cannot push it! the snowflakes said.
“People live on earth,” said Khoroshinsky. - Remember, the wind ... told us about the blue-eyed girl and about the white lilies that she loves so much. This girl would love us even more: we are more beautiful than any flowers. Especially me.
- People love not only beautiful, but also useful, - said the wind, hearing the words of Khoroshinsky. - They will be very happy to see you, snowflakes.
- Can it be from us
- Great benefit, - the wind answered, - because there are millions of millions of you. Just remember one thing - stick together!
- Listen, sisters! - shouted the snowflake with a broken beam, - stick together, and we will be of great use. That's good! And I thought no one needed us. Well, let's play tag one last time. Count! Count!
Wind and cold and snow and water
Wind and cold and ice.

And it really was the last game of snowflakes. After the fun tags, the snowflakes, whirling, began to quietly descend to the ground. A snowflake with a broken ray, flying up to the ground, saw a large round flower bed covered with dry leaves, and shouted:
- Sisters, let's lie down on this pillow.
And all the snowflakes that heard her voice fell together on the flower bed. The rest fell nearby: on the paths, on the bushes, on the lawns, on the garden. And soon the whole earth turned white,
And in the air for a long time one homeless snowflake was spinning. It was the beautiful Horoshinsky. She was waiting for people. And she waited: a blue-eyed girl approached the flower bed. The goodie flew up to her and landed on her fluffy collar.
“What a good place I have chosen! thought Khoroshka. Now people will know how beautiful I am. How delighted the girl will be when she lowers her eyes and sees me!”
But the girl looked at the flower bed, smiled and said:
- It's good that it snowed! Now I am calm.
And as she said those words, her collar smelled of warmth. A warm breeze touched Khoroshinsky - and she melted.
The goodness was gone.
But millions of millions of snowflakes remained on the earth.
“Thank you, snowflakes,” the white lily bulbs told them from the ground. - You have warmed us, and we will tell you tales about those who live in the earth.
And when the sun appeared in the sky, it sent its rays to the earth.
"Thank you, snowflakes," they said. Sun rays. - We cannot warm the earth in winter, you did it for us, and we will tell you tales about what we saw on the way from the sun to the earth.
- Sisters, - a snowflake with a broken beam shouted, - do you hear how everyone is thanking us ?! It turns out that everyone loves us! And think, sisters, how many fairy tales there are in the world!

WINTER RECEPTION

The hare fed the lame squirrel all summer: the mischievous boy broke her paw. And when the squirrel recovered, she said goodbye to the hare and said:
- Thank you, bunny, thank you! Look; do not stock up for the winter. In the summer you fed me, and in the winter I will feed you.
The hare was delighted: after all, he did not know how to make supplies for the winter.
But since then, the hare has not seen a squirrel.
was starving. Then he remembered the squirrel: “As soon as I find it, I will forget about hunger” - and he became more cheerful.
And finally, the hare came across a squirrel. She was sitting on a branch near her hollow.
- Hello, squirrel! - shouted the hare. - How glad I am for you! Very bored!
- And me too! But you don't recognize you: you've lost so much weight!
- Still would! Haven't eaten in two days!
- Well, be patient a little more, now I will put the samovar, I will prepare a treat.
Then the squirrel looked back at its reserves, and suddenly she felt sorry for them. So sorry that she decided to cheat and said:
- That's the trouble! After all, there is nothing to warm the samovar. Would you bring me, bunny, birch twigs. I would light the coals.
And the squirrel took out bags of nuts and prepared patches. He thinks: “Someday the hare will still find a birch. In the meantime, I'll pack my supplies and drag them to another place.
But before the squirrel had time to thread the needle, the hare was right there.
- On, get birch twigs, troublesome!
- Quickly same you turned around!
- Why, it’s not difficult to find a birch: from the edge you can see how the birch tree turns white.
- I'll put the samovar, but how will I set the table?
Because I don't have a table. You would have brought me oak logs, I would have sawn planks, I would have made an oak table.
“I’ll bring it, I’ll bring it, troublesome,” said the hare and rushed off.
And the squirrel thinks: “Well, you won’t find an oak soon. It's hard to recognize a tree without leaves. Birch does not count - it is white.
But before the squirrel had time to fix the bag, the hare was right there.
- On, get oak logs, bustle!
- Quickly same you turned around!
- Why, it's not difficult to find an oak tree: huge, thick and clumsy, and on the branches here and there - dried leaves.
"That's right," thought the squirrel. And let's get smarter:
- I’ll make a table, but there’s nothing to wash, rub it with. Would you bring me a lime washcloth.
“I’ll bring it, I’ll bring it, troublesome,” said the hare and rushed off.
And the squirrel thinks: “Well, you won’t find a linden in the winter soon.”
But before she had time to pour the nuts into the bag, the hare was right there.
- On, get a fake bast, troublemaker!
- Quickly same you turned around!
- Why, it’s not difficult to find a linden: every branch in the middle of it has bent, as if a bear cub was sitting on it.
"That's right," thought the squirrel. He sees that the hare is already tired. It's not easy to run on an empty stomach. She felt sorry for the hare, but even more sorry for her reserves. And the squirrel let's cunning further:
- We will feast with you, but what is a feast without music? Would you bring me maple logs. I would make a balalaika.
“I’ll bring it, I’ll bring it, troublesome,” said the hare and rushed off.
But before she had time to tie up a bag of nuts, the hare was right there.
- Quickly same you turned around!
- Why, it’s not difficult to find a maple tree: all its twigs sit in pairs, that’s how a person stands, he raised his hands up; the body is a branch, the hands are twigs. You only drove me, you troublemaker! Well, nothing, it’s a shame not to try for such a holiday. Yes, and my paws are big, strong - not like yours.
Then the squirrel remembered how the hare looked after her, how she fed her all summer. And the squirrel felt ashamed, so ashamed that she even blushed.
- Sit a little bit, bunny, - said the squirrel, - I'll cook everything now. - And she quickly kindled coals from a birch, kindled a samovar, made an oak table, washed it, wiped it with a linden washcloth and pointed all sorts of things on it. Everything, everything she instructed, as for a big feast.
They feasted for a long time, and when they had refreshed themselves, the squirrel set up a maple balalaika and began to play. This is where they had fun. Either the squirrel plays, and the hare dances, then the hare plays - the squirrel dances.
Such fun went that even the trees regretted that they did not have legs to dance.

SISTERS Bumps

Somehow three cones grew on a spruce branch. Yes, they are so long, so scaly - everyone is surprised.
The first one in the forest was called the Long One, the second, which was even longer, the Long One, and the longest one, the Long Long One.
The long girl hid in the shade of the branches, and her sisters hung in full view of everyone and boasted:
- But everyone sees us, but everyone admires us: animals, birds, and even stars! Neither on earth nor in heaven are there more such long cones.
And the sisters teased Dlinnushenka:
- And we are longer, but we are more visible!
- Well, let! Long-haired replied calmly. “I don’t care if anyone admires me or not.
That's how! The sisters only think about it, but she doesn’t care!
- I'm thinking about something else: about our babies, about seeds. How best to save them until spring. After all, from every seed a Christmas tree can grow. I will save all my seeds, there will be a whole spruce forest.
- Forest? Fool, but then you will not be in the world.
- Well, so what? And there will be wood. I want him to grow up over there, where there is always light. The wind calls this place a clearing.

Winter came, and plump snow covered the spruce branches. Once the wind shook off a lump of snow right on the Long One.
What have you done, my friend! she reproached him. - He covered me all over with snow!
“Wait, you will still be grateful to me,” the wind answered and flew away.
“Now, sisters, I can’t even see you,” Longshenka complained.
- Think what a problem! - Long-Long-nusha answered, - and you don’t care whether they admire you or not. Well, sit under the snow!
“And I’m even glad that you don’t count now,” Longnush said. - Only we are left: the two longest, most scaly cones.
- Look, what a beautiful animal! - Long-Long-Long suddenly shouted and pushed her sister. - Yes, over there, on that tree. Do you see how he looks? He must be admiring us! Hey little animal, come here!
The long woman did not even have time to look at the neighboring Christmas tree, like an animal, it was a squirrel, - jump! - and found himself nearby. The squirrel reached out to Long-Long, as if about to kiss her. And she bit her off the branch! Then she took it in her front paws and let's gnaw off the scales, choose the seeds.
How dare you ruin my dress! - shouted Long-Long-Long.
And the squirrel doesn't seem to hear. She gnawed off all the scales, ate the seeds, threw the rest into the snow - jump! - on the top knot. Just saw her!

The long girl was very sorry for her sister. And the Long One, at least something: at first she was frightened, and then she calmed down and said:
- It's a pity that now I have no one to talk to, but now I'm the longest, most scaly bump in the entire forest.
She told everyone about this and was very fond of luring birds to show off in front of them.
Lively tit flocks descended on the Christmas tree and chirped:
- Zuichi, ziuichi, look, look how long it is!
But then one day Longnush lured to her an unfamiliar bright red bird - a crossbill.
- Invited, so treat the guest, - the crossbill immediately said.
And only then Dlinnusha noticed what an unusual beak the guest had: the lower half was bent up with a hook, the upper half down. This frightened Longnush, and she said to the crossbill:
“Fly away and say goodbye to where you came from.” I have nothing to feed you.
- If you don't want it, I'll treat myself.
Then the crossbill extended its clawed paw to her and let's unfold the scales with its beak. And his beak seems to be made for this.
And so Longnusha died.
And only the Long One remained on the spruce branch. It would be boring, it would be sad for her, if it were not for a friend - the wind. The wind comforted her.
- Don't be sad, Dlinnushenka, think about spring. It will get warmer, you will open your clothes, and seeds will fly from there. And I will pick them up and take them to the clearing - sprout, rise above the ground with Christmas trees.
Thank you, wind! I so want my forest to grow there, in a bright clearing. Tell me, are you going to fly there?
- Well, of course I will. And I will definitely tell your Christmas trees history of three sisters - the three longest cones in the entire forest.

When there is a threat to life.

All peoples at all times valued smart, wise people.
