Zebra is an exotic animal. It has an almost mythical appearance, meanwhile it is an ordinary representative of the equid-hoofed order, which includes donkeys, donkeys and beautiful kind horses that delight the eyes of spectators at the races. Zebras live in Africa. Its height at the withers is about 1.3 meters. The height of horses is measured in this way - at the withers: from the neck to the ground.

Zebras usually live in families. The family consists, as a rule, of a stallion, several mares and foals. These families graze, gathering in huge herds of up to thousands of heads, sometimes they graze with antelopes. There are three types of zebras, and each differs from the other in features of the striped pattern: the Gravy zebra has narrow dark stripes and a white belly, the mountain zebra has thicker stripes (three bold stripes cross its hind legs), the zebra has wide stripes starting on the belly and continuing back, passing to the hind legs . Sometimes there are "shadow stripes" - thinner stripes located between wide stripes.

Previously, there was another, fourth, type of zebra. They called her quagga - in imitation of her neighing. quagga by appearance very different from those species of zebras that have survived to this day. The quagga had stripes only on the head, neck and chest, and the back was even brown in color. As a result of barbarian hunting, by the beginning of the 20th century, the quagga had completely disappeared.

Why do zebras have stripes?

Zebra stripes help confuse predators, for example, a lion who is not averse to having lunch with a zebra. While the beast understands what is in front of him, zebra fleeing. The color of some animals masks them in the area where they live. For example, green insects spend most of their time on the leaves of trees, where they are invisible.

Zebra stripes confuse predators, giving her the opportunity to flee.

But other animals, such as tree frogs or some snakes, have a coloration called destructive or disturbing. Zebra is one such animal.. Imagine an ordinary black horse. Its distinct silhouette is clearly visible on almost any background. It is easy to see at a great distance the curve of her back and the outlines of her body. When looking at such a silhouette, there is no doubt that you have a horse in front of you. But the zebra is misleading. Black and white stripes violate, break the even contours of the animal's body, hide the figure of a zebra. When a zebra runs, the stripes create even more optical illusion. Therefore, the lion does not immediately understand that his dinner is in front of him.

Where did zebra stripes come from?

Scientists believe that the zebra evolved from a horse-like animal, devoid of bands. Zoologists disagree on what the zebra's ancestor looked like, but almost everyone agrees that it was dark or even black. So the answer to the old question might sound like this: Zebra is a black animal with white stripes. This is how the stripes may have come about: due to random variation, some foals may have been born with light stripes on a dark background. Since the stripes turned out to be a protective coloration, the striped animals gained an advantage: they survived more often, their offspring (also mostly striped) were more numerous. Here is another example for you natural selection. As generations changed, more and more striped animals appeared. Happened over time different types an animal we call a zebra.

(This tale will tell the child why the mother is the main one, and the mother why the leading role is important).

One day, Mother Zebra gave birth to a foal. Funny Kid with a short tousled mane, on thin legs, all white with black stripes. Although he himself thought he was all black with white stripes. He often stated this to Mama, and she laughed every time. Babies love it when moms laugh, so Baby repeated his thoughts about stripes several times a day.

Like all Babies, he was very active and inquisitive, and Mother Zebra, during frequent walks in the savannah, told him about everything that surrounds them:

It's juicy and tasty grass, son. All zebras eat it. She gives us strength to run fast and jump high, said Mother Zebra.

And those tall bushes over there, though tasty, are fraught with danger. There may be predatory animals waiting for us...

The kid obediently followed his mother and listened carefully, and remembered. Everything around him was new to him.

Once, when Baby Zebra was nibbling grass, and this was his favorite pastime, especially if the grassy bush was thick and could be chewed with a crunch in a circle. So, one day, when a foal was biting a juicy grass tussock in a circle, a Mouse jumped out of a mink in the ground right in front of his nose and squealed loudly. He was very tiny, but the foal had never met mice before and was alert. And then the Mouse decided to say hello.

Wee-wee-hello!

It was already too much. Zebronok jumped back in fright and ran as fast as he could to his mother.

Mamaaaa! Save! Dangerous predators attacked me! They waited for me in the grass! The zebra looked around in search of danger, saw little mouse and laughed:

So it's just a mouse. He is not even dangerous at all ... you can make friends with him and find out that rodents eat grains, seeds and roots.

So the Mouse and the Foal became friends. They started fun games, and every day they made a bunch of amazing discoveries. And whatever they found, they immediately made everything a part of their games and fun, spending fun and usefully together every day. They especially liked to repeat the scene of their acquaintance. The mouse again and again jumped out of the burrows in front of the foal, and the foal bounced picturesquely and lamented about the attack of evil and terrible predators. Then they laughed merrily.

While the children had fun and explored everything and everything, Mother Zebra and Mother Mouse talked aside about their motherly affairs.

Mother Mouse often taught Zebra how best to raise children, because she had already grown many mice. And as an experienced mother of many children, the mouse shared her educational knowledge:

My dear, said Mother Mouse. - Children need freedom, it is important for them to explore the world themselves, to fill bumps and find out on their own what is dangerous and what is not. If a child is taught and controlled all the time, he will grow up without initiative and lack of independence.

But what about the rules? Zebra asked.

All these rules are useless. So you will never grow a personality, ”the Mouse assured.

Probably, I really manage the life of my Foal too much ... - Zebra thought. “Maybe I should let him go…”

Meanwhile, the children came up with a fun game. They decided to try different plants taste, and not run every time to moms and ask what is tasty and what is not. Zebronok bit off a juicy thick-leaved plant and smacked his lips with pleasure - it turned out to be so tasty. The little mouse gnawed a large green nut, bit off the nucleolus and immediately wrinkled all over - the food turned out to be very bitter.

Well, you see, they themselves are doing an excellent job of finding food, ”the Mouse said authoritatively. - We got acquainted with bitter sedge, found a sweet thick leaf.

It seems that you, as always, are right, dear Mouse, children need freedom and the opportunity to experiment.

While the children were playing and the mothers were talking about education, a huge eagle appeared over the savannah.

He planned, cutting huge circles in search of prey.

Zebra was the first to notice the eagle and became worried, and the Mouse told her that the children needed to get to know the danger on their own. But Mother Zebra could not stand it and shouted: “Hurry, hide, children! An eagle is flying towards you!”

The zebra foal immediately jumped into a thick bush with one jump and from there began to call the Mouse to him. But the Mouse proudly answered him that he himself could decide how to act and what to do. Zebronok wanted to jump out and drag Mouse into the bushes, but did not dare to disobey his mother. And the Mouse proudly stood in the open and was not even going to run away or hide. And then an eagle spotted him. He dived sharply down and grabbed the Mouse with his clawed paws. The bird of prey squeezed him tightly and began to rise up.

Break out with all your might, bite his paws! - shouted the frightened Mother Mouse.

I myself know what to do! Don't command me! Mouse snapped.

At that moment, Mother Zebra ran as fast as she could after the eagle and, jumping as high as possible, kicked the flying eagle. The huge bird tumbled in the air and released the Mouse from its claws. The eagle was rushing after its prey, but the Zebra stamped its hooves menacingly and the hunter decided to get out the best he could.

The poor little Mouse with a crunch fell into a thick bush right on the foal.

The mothers ran up to the Babies and groaned and gasped for a long time about what had happened. The mouse examined his son from all sides, whether everything was in order with him and whether the eagle had injured him. When it became clear that the Mouse was all right, Mother Mouse grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and began to scold:

Why didn't you hide with the Foal? You saw that a big bird of prey was flying, and the Foal was calling you. Why didn't it break out? I yelled at you to break free and bite the eagle's paws. Why didn't you do as you were told? - I didn't know that this bird was so angry! cried the Mouse. - I wanted to see where he would carry me and whether he could climb high with me. I just wanted to know what was going to happen next…” he whined.

No, no, I don't want to! I will always hide! - promised the Mouse.

I just can't believe it, - the Mouse did not let up. - That you could die now because of your unwillingness to listen to me.

Then everyone went on their way. On the way home, the Foal told Mother Zebra that he used to get very angry and upset when she told him what to do or did not let him play at the waterfall. He thought that Mom was a pest. And now he understood why you should always do as Mom said ...

And Mother Zebra thought that with freedom of choice, she would have to wait for now and that rules were more important.

The next morning, she invited the Foal to choose for himself what grass to pluck for breakfast, but she chose a safe clearing herself. And although the Kid wanted to jump further across the clearing, Mother Zebra announced that the sun was already high and it was time for them to go into the shade. True, in the shade, she will allow the Foal to choose a game: jump for leaves on a tree or chase a ball. And then Mom promised the Foal that tomorrow at dawn, when the predators leave the waterfall, they will definitely go to the watering place and the Kid will be able to play a fun game with other foals. And when the sun rises and shines with bright rays, she will show the Kid an amazing miracle - colorful rainbow in water splashes.

Far, far away, in the hot African savannah, there lived zebras. They were big and small, old and very young, sad and mischievous, but always very friendly and peaceful. This huge herd lived very well: the zebras got up very early and walked in the tall lush grass, when everything around was still covered with iridescent life-giving dew, and then they rested together in the cool shade of trees and shrubs, hiding from the destructive heat.
In this herd lived one small zebra, which everyone loved very much for her meek but mischievous disposition, unusual curly bangs and, most importantly, for her bright outfit. At first glance, it was no different from the clothes of other zebras: these were wonderful black and white stripes that covered her body from hooves to the very tip of her tail. But they were very even and clear and helped the young zebra hide in the shade of the trees so successfully that her parents had to look for her for hours, because the shadows from the trees also fell to the ground in dark stripes and hid the mischievous zebra in their coolness.
But life in the African savannah, which was fraught with many dangers, was not so cloudless. Our zebra was carefree and happy because he believed in reliable protection her large family and knew how to hide well in the shade of trees.
One night something terrible happened: some huge roaring beasts attacked the herd. The little zebra ran into the frightening night shadow of the trees, falling to the ground from the blinding light of the burning eyes-headlights of the iron monsters, and watched in horror as her big family dies from incomprehensible bright flashes, accompanied by sharp thunderous volleys. So she hid all night, and in the morning she tried in vain to find at least one soul mate. At one point, her carefree childhood ended, and she was left alone in this now frightening savannah.
Several days passed like this... Our zebra never stood up and did not even open its eyes: it lay motionless in the shade of its beloved tree and wept bitterly, remembering its happy life. Suddenly she heard the roar of a car and started up, but did not run away: she decided that this iron monster would send her to her big family and, trembling with fear all over, she closed her eyes even tighter. But instead of a flash and a thunderclap, she suddenly felt a gentle touch: it was the kind hands of the reserve keeper. So she got into the house of kind people who had a lot of orphaned cubs, with whom the zebra quickly became friends.
But she did not stay long in the hospitable house of the reserve keeper - her path lay in a distant northern country, to the zoo. The little zebra hid in the corner of the enclosure and often shuddered from nightmares. But soon her life in the zoo improved: human cubs began to come to her every day, who looked after her, fed her bread and fruit and played with the zebra for hours, brightening up her loneliness. Children became true friends of our zebra and helped her to come back to life. Less and less often, the zebra remembered the succulent grasses of the African savannah and its large friendly family. Now she spent all the time at the fence of the enclosure, waiting for her new friends.
But one morning, while walking around the enclosure, the zebra buried its muzzle in the gate, which swung open with ease. She did not want to leave the zoo and her friends, but her nostrils suddenly felt the scent of grass and flowers, which for a moment reminded her of the smells of her native savannah. She rushed along the asphalt-paved street following the wind that brought her native smells. Zebra, not looking around, rushed towards her memories along the asphalt-covered city streets. In that brief moment she was free and happy. But suddenly she heard a familiar threatening rumble and the rattle of iron monsters that deprived her of her family and childhood. These iron monsters rushed past at a terrible speed. Even a strong pack leader couldn't run that fast. Zebra stood at the side of the road in bewilderment, not understanding where she was and what was happening around.
Suddenly she saw her new little friend appear on the road between these snarling monsters, a crying human cub who took care of her, fed her and helped her live in the zoo. Zebra looked up and saw the frightened faces of her friends on the opposite side of the road. The children watched in horror as the baby was driven around by cars, squeaking brakes and honking loudly, and tried to come to his aid. Zebra realized that her friends were in danger, and in a moment she would again be left alone in this frightening world, having lost her newly acquired second family. She ran out into the middle of the road, saving the children from death, closed her eyes and stood up as a wall, protecting her friends from the iron monsters. There was a terrible screech of brakes, horrendous horns hummed, and then suddenly there was a ringing silence. Zebra saw that the human cubs took the younger by the hands and calmly crossed the road, while the monster cars stopped in bewilderment and illuminated with their headlights striped zebra blocking their way.
This incident on the city road was seen by adult wise people. They were amazed by the courageous act of the zebra, saving children at the cost of his life. They returned our zebra to the zoo, where she had even more true friends, and on all dangerous sections of the road, especially near schools and kindergartens, they painted pedestrian crossings that resemble the elegant pattern of our zebra's skin with black and white stripes.
Since then, this has been the custom: people began to call all pedestrian crossings "Zebras", and human cubs in schools began to learn the rules traffic so that their parents do not worry about the safety of their children and grief never comes to families.

Today the main character of the fairy tale is a zebra. Once upon a time, she was without stripes. But over time I got them. Where did the zebra stripes come from? As a result of what events?

The Tale of How the Zebra Became Striped

Once upon a time, there lived a zebra. She didn't have any stripes. She was just light color. Her monophonic outfit did not like, first of all, herself. And secondly...

And, by the way, what difference does it make what happened in the second place!

“The giraffe is spotted, the panda is two-colored, and only I am of some incomprehensible color. Whom to ask for multi-colored paints? the zebra thought.

And since she did not know from whom to borrow paints, she walked gloomy and quiet. The joyful sun looks at the zebra and asks:

- Why are you so sad?

“I want to have a brighter outfit than now,” the zebra replied. - Do you, dear sun, have multi-colored paints?

— I only have yellow paint.

- Come on, honey, at least her.

And the sun began to send rays to the zebra. Where the ray lay down, there arose a strip. Eventually, the zebra became completely striped. The color of her stripes was yellow.

The dark night has come, the sun has disappeared. And yellow stripes the zebras began to darken. They became almost black. And they remain the same forever.

So the zebra became striped. And what? She loves it and so do we!

Questions and tasks for the fairy tale

Why didn't the zebra like her original outfit?

Who came to the rescue of the zebra?

What color stripes did the sun give the zebra?

Why are the stripes dark?

What proverbs fit the story?

Dreaming is not bad.
Dream - good dreams are worthy of respect!

The main meaning of the tale is that wishes, sometimes the most incredible, come true. Believe in a dream, make efforts to make it come true - and everything will be fine!

SOCCER BALL

Lived in one apartment
One sports boy
And he lived in an apartment with him
One soccer ball.
Nice new leather
And all so well-groomed!

He famously jumped and flew,
He argued with height
And then one day - the day has come
I thought he was cool...

Soared like a bird a new ball
Hitting the leg
And forgetting football match,
He jumped into the road

Nice new leather
And all so well-groomed!

He runs along the road,
Flying like the wind
Cars overtaking the ball -
One, two, three.
But soon the game was over

And he got under the wheels

And on his side in the corner lay
One soccer ball:

Unhappy, old, leathery
And all so twisted!

So that there is no misfortune
Remember, friends
What's on the road
You can't play!
^ TRAFFIC LAWS
On a warm sunny day
I go out on the threshold
And I'm in a hurry to school -
Prepared a lesson.
But in order for me to get to school,
Must be strictly observed
Traffic rules -
Even out of respect.
Suddenly on a smooth pavement
A car rushes in front of me
Sees a zebra crossing.

Does not slow down - flies forward.

And it should be the other way around...
Ah, the rules of the road!
Where is the respect for children?

^ TRAFFIC LAWS
Red eyed traffic light
He was staring at me.
I stood and silently waited
Because I knew for sure:

If the red light is on
The pedestrian is always standing.
If you see a red light
This means no progress!

Cars drove past
And tires rustled softly.
The tractor was driving, rattling,
The dump truck ran after him,

Long-long timber carrier
On the way, they carried logs.
Yellow light burns under red:
It's still dangerous to go!

The traffic began to slow down
To clear the way.
Yellow light on -
There is no way for anyone.

Pedestrians don't go
And the cars are waiting too!
The traffic light blinked and - time!
He lit up the green eye!

But just don't run!

TRAFFIC LIGHT
Papa Light in Kindergarten
It was always a pleasure to accompany.
Suddenly they saw
Colored lights:
Like a holiday dress
A traffic light appeared.
And she asked Papa Sveta:
Why does he have three colors?
Why do they burn
One after another, not in a row?
Her father said to her:
"When the GREEN light is on,
Can you go ahead
And cross the road."
"Stop, there is no more road!" -
Tells us YELLOW light.
If the legs do not stop,
In the middle of the road.
Wait to send hello
You get the green light again.
And it's dangerous to go
If RED lights up.
It will bring a lot of trouble
not listening to advice."
And again Sveta asked:
“Well, what if there is no light?
The fitter did not fix it in time
Faulty traffic light?
We can't wait long
You might be late for kindergarten!
Answering the question
Dad said out loud
"Well, of course you have to go,
A traffic light is not a barrier.
Only, daughter, be smart -
Don't forget to look
Before you go - LEFT,
And then walk boldly
If there are no cars nearby
And you don't hear tire noise.
The rules are the same for everyone
And reaching the middle
Do them right -
Just look RIGHT.
You don't forget about it
Before you continue on."
So they are talking
Lined up with a traffic light.
He, as if for Sveta,
Played with green light.
^ TALE ABOUT ROAD SIGNS

Our road signs
They argue over which one is the most important.
What happened? Why?
Our signs, as if in a fight.
Dust is all around,
And the cars are upside down.

Everyone quarreled around
They don't want to stand still.
Then a traffic light came to them
And he said: “What a noise here, What a din.
What's going on on the road
Here and there, here and there?”

“We want to know who is the most important!”
The traffic light told them this:
“There are no chiefs here, everyone is equal,
You can argue to the point of hoarseness.
And now everyone gets to work!”
Jumped the signs to their places

And never fight again!

TRAFFIC LIGHT
Crazy city, stubborn city
Cars rush to and fro.
Pedestrians walking on the sidewalk
Water flows from the roofs onto the roads.

But always in any weather
You see a traffic light on the street.
He will keep you safe
He's been helping people for a long time.

But remember the indispensable rule:
A traffic light has three eyes
And no one ever for anything
Three times he does not blink at once.

Stop! Don't go if the red is on
Wait if the yellow blinks
Well, green - calmly walk,
So the traffic light helps!

TRAFFIC LIGHT
There is an assistant at the machines.
He is a three-eyed gentleman.
On the road he stands
Leads everything around.

If the light is green,
So the path will be free.
Blinking yellow eyes
Know the machines warned

For them to slow down
Pedestrians missed.
The red light came on -
There are no cars here.

Here they are, waiting:
Let the pedestrians pass.
And then the transport will rush
Along the way here and there.

CAR N, Nosov

When Mishka and I were very young, we really wanted to drive a car, but it just didn’t work out. No matter how much we asked drivers, no one wanted to ride us. One day we were walking in the yard. Suddenly we look - on the street, near our gates, a car stopped. The driver got out of the car and went somewhere. We ran. I say:

  • This is the Volga.
    And Mishka:

  • No, this is Moskvich.

  • You understand a lot! I say.

  • Of course, Moskvich, says Mishka. - Look at his hood.
- What, - I say, - bonnet? It is girls who have a hood, and
cars - hood! Look at the body.

The bear looked and said:

Well, such a belly, like the "Moskvich".

  • It's you, - I say, - a belly, but the car has no belly.

  • You yourself said "belly".

  • "Body" I said, not "belly"! Oh you! You don't understand, but you climb!
The bear came up to the car from behind and says:

  • Does the Volga have a buffer? This is Moskvich's buffer.
    I say:
- You'd better keep quiet. Invented another buffer of some kind. Buffer -
this is by the wagon railway and the car has a bumper. Bumper
both Moskvich and Volga have it.

The bear touched the bumper with his hands and says:

You can sit on this bumper and go.

  • Don't, I tell him.
    And he:

  • Don't be afraid. Let's drive a little and jump.
Then the driver came and got into the car. The bear ran up from behind, sat on the bumper and whispered:

Sit down quickly! Sit down quickly!
I say:

No need!
And Mishka:

Go quickly! Oh you coward!

I ran up and clung to it. The car started and how it will rush! The bear got scared and says:

I'll jump! I'll jump!

  • No need, - I say, - you will break!
    And he keeps saying:

  • I'll jump! I'll jump!
And he has already begun to let go of one leg. I looked back, and behind us another car rushes. I'm screaming

Do not dare! Look, now the car will crush you!

People on the sidewalk stop, look at us. At the crossroads, a policeman blew his whistle. The bear was frightened, jumped down onto the pavement, but his hands would not let go, he was holding on to the bumper, his legs were dragging along the ground. I got scared, grabbed him by the collar and dragged the top. The car stopped, and I drag everything. The bear finally climbed onto the bumper again. People gathered around. I'm screaming

Hold on, you fool!

Everyone laughed at that. I saw that we had stopped and I started to cry.

Get down, - I say to Mishka.

And he doesn't understand anything. Forcibly, I tore it off this bumper. A policeman ran up and wrote down the number. The driver got out of the cab - everyone attacked him:

Can't you see what's going on behind you?
And they forgot about us. I whisper to Misha:

We moved to the side and ran into the alley. They ran home, out of breath. Mishka has both knees peeled to the point of blood and his pants are torn. This is when he rode on the pavement on his stomach. He got it from his mom!

Then Mishka says:

Pants are nothing, you can sew them up, but your knees will heal on their own.
I just feel sorry for the driver: he will probably get it because of us.
Did you see the policeman write down the number of the car?

I say:

I should have stayed and said that the driver was not to blame.

And we will write a letter to the policeman, - says Mishka.
We began to write a letter. They wrote, wrote, ruined twenty sheets of paper, and finally wrote:

“Dear comrade policeman! You entered the number incorrectly. That is, you wrote down the number correctly, only wrong that the driver is to blame. The driver is not to blame, Mishka and I are to blame: we clung, but he did not know. The driver is good and drives well.”

On the envelope they wrote:

"Corner of Gorky and Bolshaya Gruzinskaya streets, get a policeman." The letter was sealed and thrown into a box. It will probably come.
^ ROAD TALE
Once upon a time there was a Hedgehog and a Hare.

One day they were playing along the road. The bunny began to cross the road and got hit by a car. He hurt his paw very badly. Kind people they took him and sent him to school in a living corner. The guys took care of him and treated him.

The hedgehog missed his friend and decided to visit him. Before starting the journey, the Hedgehog went to the Wise Owl.

He asked:

Wise Owl, tell me how to get to school. I want to visit the Bunny.

The wise owl replied:

The school is in the city. To reach it, you need to go through many roads. And the roads in the city are dangerous. Cars, buses, trolleybuses drive along them, you need to be especially careful and careful not to get under the wheels.

What should I do? Who will help me? - asked the Hedgehog.

I think Magpie can help you. She often visits the city and knows a lot about it.

The hedgehog found Magpie on a high birch. She shared the news with her friends.

Dear Magpie, help me find my way to the school where my friend Hare lives.

Good. Follow me, keep up and listen carefully.

Hedgehog and Magpie set off. Magpie flew ahead, and the Hedgehog tried to keep up with her.

Now we are walking along the suburban highway. Pedestrians walk along the side of the road towards traffic. If you need to cross the road, look left and then right. There will be a lot of cars in the city, - Soroka said, - there the traffic is regulated by the three-eyed Traffic Light. When the red light is on, stop, when the yellow light is on, also stop, which means that the green light will turn on soon, and when the green light is on, wait until all the cars stop, and boldly go forward if the path is clear.

To make it safer for pedestrians, underground passages are being built on large highways. If you see a blue square with a person going down the steps, then there is an underground passage nearby. You, Hedgehog, need to go down there, go to the other side, and you will be there.

Is it far to school?

The sign replied:

My sign warns drivers: "Children!" This means that the school is very close, and the driver must be very careful!

The hedgehog was delighted and soon entered the wide gate, where it was written: "Welcome!"

The children saw the hedgehog, took it carefully and carried it to a living corner.

There the Bunny was sad. His paw healed, and he really wanted to return to his native forest. The Hedgehog and the Hare talked a lot and decided to return together to their native forest.

They won't break traffic rules anymore.

^ GIFT FROM ZEBRA
Once upon a time there was a horse named Zebra in Africa. And she was proud of her black and white shirts. Once she decided to wander around the world. Wandered, wandered, no one came across her way until she got into the city. Zebra was struck by the fact that a huge number of cars raced down the street and did not allow pedestrians to cross it.

There was no underpass. The zebra felt sorry for the people. She put her shirt on the road. Drivers saw bright stripes and stopped. People happily began to cross the road.

But the time has come to return to hot Africa. And Zebra gave people her shirt. But there was only one shirt, and there were many transitions. Then people at the crossings began to draw white stripes. The striped crossing began to be called "zebra" in memory of his friend.

Now pedestrians can immediately see where to cross the street, and drivers can see from afar that a pedestrian may appear here.

^ HOW THE FOX VIOLATED TRAFFIC RULES

Once in the city of the Rules of the Road, the following happened: a mischievous fox began to break the rules. She ran across the street at red lights, broke traffic lights, and no one knew how to convince her to follow the rules. And the signs came up with a plan to teach the fox a lesson. They turned to the traffic police inspector for help. One day, the fox was again walking along the road, and not along the sidewalk, and was stopped by a bear inspector. He scolded the fox for misbehaving on the road. He explained that this could lead to death. The fox got scared and never violated the traffic rules again.
^ TALE ABOUT RUINED BIKES

On the main street of the city, a large sports shop shone with glass windows. Behind the windows were fitness equipment, mannequins in summer and winter tracksuits, lay balls and tennis rackets, fishing tackle and inflatable boats. But one window was special. It was full of bikes! It was near her that the boys most often stopped on the street. Still, after all, bicycles shone in the sun with all their details - from the spokes to the steering wheel. All the boys dreamed of having such a miracle of technology, and bicycles dreamed of an owner.

And then one day two boys came to the store with their dads. The boys' names were Misha and Vanya. They were twelve years old, they were neighbors and friends. And they came to the store so that dads would buy them bicycles. Misha chose "Salute" for himself, and Vanya - "Stork". Bicycles were glad that they had owners with whom they would ride through the streets.

And so it happened. It was summer outside, the boys were in full swing, and every day after breakfast the boys jumped into the saddles of bicycles and rode until lunchtime. Sometimes they rode together, and sometimes other boys from their yard joined them.

"Aist" and "Salyut" were glad that everything turned out so wonderfully, but soon their joy began to disappear. Vanya and Misha turned out to be completely undisciplined cyclists. One day they decided to ride up the steps of a large staircase that leads from the main avenue to the embankment. The staircase is large, it has more than a hundred steps. But most importantly, she is very lively. After all, a lot of people go down to the embankment along it. But this did not stop Vanya and Misha. They decided that their bikes are no worse than mountain bikes, and decided to play extreme sports. "Aist" and "Salyut" rang with all spokes and creaked with all bearings. They understood that they could not ride on such tracks, because they were not at all adapted for this. But the most important thing is that no transport is allowed to go where people go. Both bikes struggled not to hurt pedestrians, because their owners themselves were already struggling to hold the steering wheel in their hands. But they didn't hold back. Both Vanya and Misha, upon hitting the next step, let go of the steering wheel and rolled head over heels down with their bikes. When the stairs ended, they could hardly get up. Fortunately, they escaped with only bruises and abrasions. But bicycles were less fortunate. The Aistu twisted the steering wheel and bent the pedal, while the Salyut's front wheel became egg-shaped, not counting the peeled paint on the frame. In the evening, dads were busy fixing bicycles. Of course, the parents made suggestions to their sons about where and how to ride bicycles, but the boys did not really listen to them.

And the bicycles, each in his own apartment, were silent and sighing. They were very sorry to be treated so disrespectfully. But "Salyut" and "Aist" did not even suspect that their misfortunes were just beginning, and riding up the stairs was not the worst thing.

Misha has long said that there is not enough space in the yard for real cyclists, there is nowhere to accelerate. So, it's time to go to the big road, that is, to the street. Vanya liked the idea. And in the morning, immediately after the parents left for work, they drove out of the yard into the street. It had so much space! There are three traffic lanes on each side of the street. There were not very many cars yet, and Vanya and Misha had enough space to drive onto the roadway.

At first they just drove, and then they decided to arrange competitions. Everyone that has the strength pressed the pedals and rushed forward. And then they began to overtake each other, change lanes from one lane to another ... The drivers honked, leaned out the windows of the cars and scolded the boys, but Vanya and Misha did not pay attention. There was a squeal of brakes as the cyclists ran out into the intersection, right on the red light. It's good that the drivers managed to slow down, and a traffic police inspector jumped out onto the road. The boys also slowed down and fell together right at the feet of the inspector. He raised the violators of the traffic and led them to the State traffic inspectorate. At the inspection, the bicycles were taken away and left in the yard, and the boys were told to come with their parents.

Here for the first time "Salute" and "Aist" met with other bicycles. They also stood in the yard, but they were just like new. Their spokes shone in the sun, there were no scratches or abrasions on the frames, and the wheel hubs were oiled. At first, Salyut and Aist were afraid to be the first to talk to strangers, and then they decided. It turns out that these beautiful bicycles also had owners, and the same boys as Vanya and Misha. But they were young traffic inspectors. They did not violate the Rules of the Road, and even taught other guys to behave correctly on the road. They also learned to ride bicycles to pass various figures and rode around a specially equipped bicycle camp. "Salyut" and "Aist" also spoke about their owners, but their story was very sad. They realized that their boys do not know the rules of the road, and they are not going to take care of their cars.

Soon the guys appeared in the yard in nice shape. These were the young traffic inspectors. They used to come to classes on the Rules of the Road, and now they got on their bikes and went to training in the bike town. Finally, "Salyut" and "Aist" found out that these wonderful guys study at a nearby school.

Soon the parents of Vanya and Misha came and, after listening to the traffic police inspector, took the bikes home. "Salute" and "Aist" on the way to the house silently envied the bicycles with which they met. They also hoped that after such an incident, their boys would no longer violate the Rules of the Road.

It was like that for a whole week. And then Vanya came to mind new idea. He decided that it was hard to pedal a bicycle, but the speed was still small. But if you catch on to the car, then you can not turn the pedals, and go very quickly. Misha approved the idea. Every day a truck with groceries for the store came to their yard. And the next day they began to guard the car in the morning. She arrived around noon. The boys waited until the car slowly began to leave the yard, and caught on the sides. Misha caught on the starboard side, and Vanya on the left. The car slowed down slightly at the exit to the carriageway and began to pick up speed.

The boys rushed forward and rejoiced: the wheels of bicycles were spinning faster and faster. The car was overtaken by other cars, when they were overtaking, they almost hit Vanya, and Misha almost ran into the buses that were overtaken by the car that was speeding them. And then the truck came to an abrupt halt. The boys could not resist, broke away from the side of the car and flew forward along with the bikes, right under the wheels of the cars. Drivers jumped out onto the road, someone called " ambulance”, someone is a traffic police inspector. An ambulance soon arrived and took them to the hospital. And the traffic police inspectors wrote down everything that happened and took the crippled bicycles to the traffic police.

In the courtyard of the inspection "Salyut" and "Aist" spent several days. No one came for them, because the boys were in the hospital, and their parents forgot about the bikes. The bicycles themselves, crippled and broken, still remembered their owners.

And almost every day their new acquaintances came to the inspection - bicycles of young traffic inspectors. Their owners were preparing for the new school year, which will begin in a couple of days. The lucky bikes greeted their injured brethren and listened to their tales of misfortune. And they themselves talked about their affairs: how great it is to ride a “figure”, go through the stages in the cycling city faster than anyone else, and also teach children from the lower grades of the school to ride. Our bicycles listened to all these stories, and they increasingly wanted to become the same machines.

The new school year began, and no one came for bicycles. And one day they did. After lunch, when there was no one in the yard, they slowly drove out the gate and went to the school, about which their familiar bicycles told them. They entered the yard. "Salute" and "Aist" looked terrible: bent wheels and wings, folded steering wheels, scratched frames, broken reflectors. And that's not all the breakdowns. Since the owners of the bicycles were nowhere to be seen, the YIDs decided that the bicycles had simply been abandoned in the schoolyard due to breakdowns. They took them to their squad.

For two whole weeks, after school, the young inspectors were engaged in repairing and painting the beginners of their bike garage. Meanwhile, Vanya and Misha were discharged from the hospital. They came home, and not seeing the bicycles, they began to find out from their parents where they were. The dads went to the inspection the next day, but it turned out that the bikes were gone. Everyone thought they were just taken to the landfill.

And soon the school received a letter from the State traffic inspectorate with information about how Vanya and Misha had committed a traffic accident. The inspector reported that the boys did not know the Rules of the Road, and asked the teachers to seriously work with them. And then classroom teacher took Vanya and Misha to a detachment of young traffic inspectors.

They were accepted into the detachment, especially since the Jews got two new bicycles. These newbies gleamed with shiny spokes and fresh paint, the wheel hubs were freshly oiled, and the wheels and fenders were aligned. These were Salyut and Aist. But the boys didn't recognize them. But the bicycles immediately recognized them and were frightened. They thought that everything would start over. But it was a detachment of young traffic inspectors. So no one gave them any offense. And the boys themselves no longer violated. They never found out that Salyut and Aist had run away from them.

^ O. KAMAKIN
JOURNEY OF FRIENDS
Once a bear cub with a hare decided to go to visit the little fox. Friends walked, chatting merrily and laughing. They did not notice how they approached the road.

“Wow, so many cars!!” - the bear cub exclaimed when he saw trucks, buses and other cars rushing along the road.

"How can we get to the other side?" - asked the hare.

“Let’s cross the road, and that’s it!” - suggested the teddy bear. And they ran with all their might.

Suddenly, the brakes screeched, the car turned sharply to the side, another crashed into it. The animals, confused, were standing in the middle of the road when a policeman approached them.

“How did you get here? Where are your adults? - he asked.

“And we are alone,” the hare squeaked with fear. The policeman took them by the paws and led them across the road.

“Listen to me carefully,” he said sternly. - You need to cross the road with adults, and if you go alone, then you need to know the Rules of the Road. These lights are called traffic lights. You need to cross the street on a green light. And when the red light is on, it means: “Stop! "You can't cross the road!" The traffic light is your friend and helper. He will always tell you how to cross the street correctly. If you knew the Rules of the Road, then today's trouble would not have happened to you. The bear cub and the hare thanked the policeman and moved on.

They came to the fox and told about their adventure. And we decided to go to the library together to study the Rules of the Road.

Guys! Know the Rules of the Road.

^ ON THE FAIRY GLAND
On a fairy meadow in a thick fairy forest all the animals and birds gathered. Everyone was talking about how they spent the day. The sparrow flew to the city and saw a monster with three eyes: red, yellow and green. The monster hung right in the air and constantly winked at someone.

Know-it-all Magpie explained that this is a traffic light, he tells the cars when and where to go. For a long time animals and birds listened to other "citizens". But most of all they were surprised by Zebra, who said that children wanted to walk on it today. How is it to walk? It turns out that, finding herself in the most crowded place in the city, she heard a woman say to a crowd of kids: “We cross the road along the zebra.” Our Zebra got scared and ran away. I never saw that the children crossed the road in the place where the asphalt was lined with white stripes, such as a zebra has all over its body.

But the Wise Owl told the frightened Zebra about the pedestrian crossing and the rules for crossing the carriageway and intersections.

Yes, many were surprised by what was happening in the city and became interested in the rules that the Wise Owl talked about. Since forest dwellers learn the traffic rules and advise everyone to strictly observe them.
