General changes:

New mode of tank arcade battles:
Destroying enemy vehicles now unlocks special "air battles" that players can take part in. Temporary departure in an attack aircraft or bomber.
Activating an air battle gives other players the opportunity to fly out in fighters to destroy or support the initiator. Players in the squad with the initiator of the event get a handicap to select a fighter
Aircraft used in air battles are not the player's aircraft - they are initially defined by the mission. They do not require repair / pumping, and progress on them will go to the progress of the player's tank.
The artillery support system has been redesigned. Now it accumulates up to three times and also requires the destruction of enemy vehicles to activate

New mode of joint realistic battles:
For destroying enemy vehicles, causing damage, as well as capturing zones, the player earns Respawn Points (RP), which he can spend for subsequent revival on any vehicle installed in the crew slots before the battle.
After the start of the session, each player of the team receives an initial balance of 400 Respawn Points, with which they ‘purchase’ the first vehicle to participate in the battle.
Match selection by the balancer is based on the maximum combat rating of the vehicle in the slots.
If a player does not have time to earn the required amount of SP before his death, then he is considered out of the battle.
Cost of the vehicle in RP: The lower the combat rating of the vehicle relative to the maximum combat rating of the battle, the less Respawn Points will be required for resurrection. The maximum reduction factor is 0.75 with a battle rating difference of 1.0 or more.

Added air racing mode:
The mode is a competition of the “race” type with the passage of a given route on the planes issued to the players. In the “Events” mode, there is a reward for victory (the mode will be available in the “Polygon” and in the “Events”).
Especially for this mode, a new location “Tropical Island” has been created, where the races will take place.
Repair costs in this mode will be lower compared to other game modes.

Automatic teaming:

All players who were not in the squad before the start of the battle will be automatically assigned to squads during the battle
When choosing to spawn at a random point, the player will spawn at the point closest to the players from his squad (works for regular squads too)
Players in an auto squad can receive special squad rewards, just like players in regular squads
Auto squads will be different from the usual ones in the list of players
The player can turn off the option "Automatically join squads" in the game settings
Automatic punishment system for unsportsmanlike behavior now takes into account ramming and hitting teammates
The destroyed vehicle scoring system now has different damage counting timers for different game modes (the time is doubled for RB and SB)
Bombers downed count bug fixed (killed co-pilot was considered critical damage, downed one was counted to the one who killed the pilot)
Fixed an issue where knocking down an enemy would not count if they crashed too quickly after being critically damaged

Significantly redesigned the appearance of the hangar
The calculation of the visibility of indicators in aircraft RBs has been changed. Now even a marked enemy is transmitted for a limited distance (6 km)
All tank modes have been changed - multi-spawn on one crew has been removed depending on the class of vehicle, except for reserve vehicles (the cost of repairs on all tanks that could go out several times has been significantly reduced)
Removed lead indicator on planes for tanks in RB. Now only anti-aircraft guns have an indicator for aircraft.
The automatic transmission on tanks now works on the Mouse Aim, Simplified, and Realistic control types. Manual transmission is now only on “Full” control.
Partially researched modules can now be purchased for a proportional partial cost in golden eagles.
Minor changes in the number of research points, as well as prices for the purchase and training of the crew for a smoother progression of the player in the research of vehicles

Gaijin Entertainment announces the release of update 1.61 called "Road of Glory" for War Thunder. This means that new models of ground and air vehicles have appeared in the game, among which are the iconic tanks of the Cold War era and the most powerful and fastest fighter of the Thunderbolt family, a crew replenishment system, new regimental battles and much more.

Among the combat vehicles added to the game along with the update, the M60A1 and T-62 tanks stand out. Born in the arms race in the 60s, they will occupy top positions in the lines of medium tanks in the USA and the USSR. The M60A1 received improved armor and increased frontal angles. Players will be able to use more aggressive tactics and not be afraid of direct hits of enemy shells in the tower. The Soviet T-62 was created as a fighter for enemy armored vehicles and became a further development of the T-54 and T-55. An ultra-modern 115 mm gun, a new chassis and rational armor made the T-62 an unrivaled tank killer.

The American P-47N-15, the most advanced of all serial Thunderbolt modifications, has appeared in the line of War Thunder fighters. With the help of this mechanism, a vehicle still capable of fighting will be able to prepare for the next skirmish with the enemy, replacing a failed crew member with a reserve fighter. In Arcade mode, it will be possible to request replenishment at any point on the map, and if there is only one tanker left in the tank, replenishment is requested automatically, and one can only hope that the soldier will arrive in time. In the "Realistic" mode and in the "Simulator" mode, calling a fighter is possible only at the capture point and with at least two crew members in the ranks. It should be remembered that from the moment of the request until the moment the fighter arrives, the car will not be able to move, so it is worth choosing a protected position in advance to wait for reinforcements.

The system of regimental battles has also undergone significant changes. They acquired permanent seasons and an increased number of prizes. The first 20 regiments in the ranking will receive from 3,000 to 30,000 golden eagles. They will be supplemented by rewards that will be able to receive the 100 most productive squadrons of the season: unique decorators, decals and regalia.

What awaits us in the new War Thunder updates? Each new major (major) update of the War Thunder client adds new vehicles, maps, various features and fixes many game bugs. Most of all, users are interested in the introduction of new maps, vehicles and functions, for example, the appearance of machine guns or changes in artillery. Really, are minor edits and fixes of minor patches so interesting? Equipment and maps, but more - that's the key to a successful update for a simple layman. So what innovations should we expect in the new major updates of the game, which are likely to receive serial numbers 1.47, 1.49 and 1.51?

Now let's touch on those things that are likely to appear, but in other, later updates of the game.

New tanks in War Thunder.
Definitely, it is worth waiting for the new ground equipment of the USSR, Germany and, of course, the USA. In the current update 1.45, machine guns were added to some vehicles. However, not all tanks historically equipped with machine guns received their legal course and anti-aircraft machine guns. Subsequently, the DShK machine gun in War Thunder should be installed on all tank models: IS-2 mod. 1944, IS-2, IS-3, IS-4M, T-54 arr. 1947, T-54 mod. 1951, ISU-122, ISU-122S, ISU-152, we are waiting for it in the next update. Also, machine guns should appear on most German tanks: on the top panthers and tigers, as well as on medium and light tanks.
The most active discussion is the introduction of new top tanks, which will expand the time frame of the vehicles presented in the game, increase the maximum combat rating. It's no secret that now German top-end cars are significantly inferior to the cars of the USSR and the USA, so this problem needs to be addressed.
What kind of tanks can be introduced? Most likely, we should wait for the appearance of the German super-heavy tank Pzkpfw. VIII Maus and Leopard I.

Already, the developers are conducting a series of historical articles that are dedicated to the German tank Maus. Coincidence? I don't think. It will be, the only question is whether it will appear in the next update.
But as a result of the introduction of such equipment, the developers will face the question: what kind of machines will other nations have to equalize the opportunities of the parties? This question is one of the most difficult for developers. After all, if the super-heavy Panzer VIII Maus tank is introduced, the Soviet IS-4M tank will not be able to fight it - there will be an overestimated imbalance. The IS-4M simply cannot penetrate the top German! The same problems will arise for Soviet anti-tank self-propelled guns. There is no need to talk about serious problems of medium tanks, since in this case, just new sub-caliber or HEAT shells for the T-54 will be enough to balance. Therefore, it is too early to talk about the promised T-62. If a new T-62 medium tank is introduced from the Soviet side, then it is worth waiting for an increase in the combat rating of all nations and the corresponding vehicles, whether the developers will agree to this is a difficult question.
How do you see the decision on the balance of Soviet tanks? Which tank will become the top one in the USSR branch? What will happen to the combat rating? Most likely the T-10M, IS-8 or IS-7. Which tank will be introduced is a debatable question. One of the cars in this row will definitely have to appear if Maus appears.
What about the Soviet tank destroyers? Almost 100% probability of the SU-122-54 appearing in the future in this scenario. This machine will be able to deal with most tanks more successfully than the clumsy ISU-152 with mediocre penetration. Already someone, but the SU-122-54 Mouse will break through.

In general, there are many excellent tanks in the USSR and the USA, which diversifies the game. However, these updates may change the game too much, its battle rating and time frame. Do not forget that the developers emphasize that the time period of the game is from the Spanish Civil War to the Korean War.
For sure, a branch of American tank destroyers will appear in the next updates. The developers were talking about them long before 1.45. These machines should fill the half-empty US technology tree in order.
Also, assault howitzers will appear in the game, which will hit with direct fire. In Germany, these machines will probably be Bison, Wespe, Grille, Hummel and others.
Of course, if there is an introduction of new top-end German and Soviet tanks, then new top-end American equipment will also be introduced.
The American heavy tank M-103 and the US heavy tank branch in general will not need to be improved, since the M-103 cumulatives can penetrate more than 300 mm of steel! But we believe that with the advent of the Maus tank, it is worth waiting for the top American medium tank M48 Patton III.
Most likely, with the appearance of such a formidable and protected tank as the Mouse, the developers will add a new medium tank for Germany. This tank, as we have already said, could be the Leopard I.

New planes.
If new top tanks are introduced that will raise the maximum combat rating in the game and expand the time frame of the presented vehicles, then it is worth waiting for new aircraft.
Many players complain about the underestimated characteristics of the top-end aircraft of the USSR, which are not able to fight with great success against American Sabers of various modifications. What is the solution here? It is likely that a new top fighter will appear, which could be the MiG-17. This plane fits perfectly into the time frame of the game (the beginning of operation in 1951). This aircraft will be approximately equal in speed to the American top fighter (the speed of the MiG-17 is 1070 km/h). Also, this aircraft is better armed than the MiG-15. And even though it has only 3 cannons: 2x23 mm NR-23 with 160 ammo and 1x37 mm N-37d cannon with 40 rounds, but this aircraft can carry bombs up to 250 kg and guided missiles!
Of course, many non-top planes of all nations will be added to the game. Among them will be: Douglas A-1 Skyraider - an aircraft with an amazing bomb load of 3600 kg! Focke-Wulf Fw. 200 Condor - German 4-engine long-range multipurpose aircraft, Bf 109 K-14, Focke-Wulf Ta 152 c, A6M5C, Ki-44, Pe-8, Arado and many others.

Rumor has it that work is underway on bogies and rocket boosters for aircraft, which will help heavy vehicles take off much faster.



Gameplay.
Multiple introductions are planned, changing the gameplay of the game. These include the emergence of new ways of viewing (view from the gunner and from the driver), illumination of aircraft cockpits, opening aircraft lights. These changes will especially affect simulation and realistic game modes. So open cockpits will affect the pilot's view and the performance of the aircraft.
All War Thunder players are waiting for the destructibility of objects, the introduction of soils and a general change in physics. Let's talk about this in detail. The destructibility of all buildings in the game does not need a detailed explanation. The developers want to make the game more realistic. Now it will be difficult to hide behind a thin wall of a building from a projectile. Projectiles will pierce walls! Not only the gameplay of the game will change, but also the load on the user's PC. No wonder the developers are now working on optimizing the client.
It is likely that destructible objects will be introduced in the next game updates.
As for the ground, this change will affect the mobility of all types of vehicles. Now the mass of tanks, their cross-country ability and the load on the tracks will be taken into account. Different types of ground will make more changes to the game. Although before there was a noticeable difference when driving on asphalt and a swamp, but now this difference will become colossal. It is likely that in realistic mode, tanks will be able to get stuck in the swamp! But this is just our suggestion.



A general change in the physics of the game will significantly change the model of rams and tank interactions. Work on this is ongoing. We'll see what happens with the gajings in the end.

The graphics in War Thunder are among the best of their kind. The game engine pleases not only with graphics, but also with optimization. So the game can work even on weak machines. The maximum graphics settings provide such quality that it becomes difficult to distinguish the game from reality. Of course, the developers will continue to work on improving the graphics and its optimization. Various effects will be introduced, detailing and quality of models in the game will be improved. According to these parameters, the game will not stand still. Shooting effects will be added for all types of vehicles and their weapons, movement effects and much more.

New War Thunder maps.
Developers are constantly working on adding new maps, optimizing and refining old maps. It's almost pointless to say exactly which cards will appear in the game, since this information is closed, and the developers themselves often change their plans. In each new major update, it is worth waiting for new maps. At the moment, the game definitely lacks city maps and winter maps. One can predict the appearance of the map of Berlin and winter Stalingrad.
