The abode of Satan himself, the sea cemetery, the horror of the Atlantic - all these terrible epithets are called the mystical zone in the Atlantic Ocean. Every year, ships and planes mysteriously disappear from the Bermuda Triangle. What is it - the sick imagination of journalists or a truly dangerous and mystical zone, shrouded in mystery and mystery?

The first mention of the devil's zone

Bermuda Triangle in the ocean is a sensation that has been exciting humanity for half a century. For the first time about this anomalous zone mentioned in 1950. An American researcher named E. Jones wrote a short article, formatting the material in the form of a brochure, in which he placed several photos. But at that time, almost no one paid attention to it. Until in 1964 another American researcher named W. Gaddis wrote about the Bermuda Triangle. He told about the real danger that this mystical area is fraught with. But the real fear in the layman was brought by a book called The Bermuda Triangle, written by Charles Berlitz. Since then, this topic has not ceased to be relevant throughout the world.

Where is the Bermuda Triangle

Conditionally symbolic peaks of this mystical zone are the following areas: Bermuda, the southern cape of Florida, Puerto Rico. The marked points are unofficial, as the boundaries of the Bermuda Triangle are constantly being adjusted, moving them, for example, closer to the Gulf of Mexico or joining the Caribbean Sea. Many researchers also attribute part of the Azores to the anomalous zone, near which many incredible events took place. Therefore, it is still impossible to get an unambiguous answer to the question “where is the Bermuda Triangle located”.

The most common theories regarding ongoing phenomena

There are dozens of versions as to what is actually happening in the Bermuda Triangle. Some of them are incredible and defy logic, while others, on the contrary, are more rational and almost scientifically sound. We will consider several assumptions below.

Mysterious gas bubbles

For the first time in 2000, several physicists in the laboratory decided to find out what happens to an object that is on the surface of bubbling water.

After a series of experiments, they came to the following conclusion: when bubbles appear in the water, its density decreases significantly, and the level rises, while the lifting force exerted by water on the ship is minimized. Therefore, if there are enough bubbles, then the ship may well sink.

The description of this experiment, carried out in the laboratory, and its results have long been published. But can bubbles actually sink a large ship? This is still unknown, because such studies have not yet been carried out in the so-called field conditions, that is, directly in the area of the Bermuda Triangle.

insidious algae

There is a version that the ships allegedly "suck" huge algae into the water column. This opinion is as implausible as the fact that the devil himself lives here. Everything is explained by the fact that the water area of the Bermuda Triangle is comparable to the Sargasso Sea, the flora of which is rich in various algae. Sailors who are not accustomed to such a spectacle are simply frightened and turn on their developed imagination.

lonely waves

In 1984, a competition between sailboats was held in Spain. The route lay from Puerto Rico through Bermuda. A 40-meter ship called the Marquez, built in 1917 in Spain, led the race ahead of ships leaving Bermuda. This is where the trouble happened. flew heavy squall, which tilted the ship, and at that moment, out of nowhere, a giant wave arose and hit the ship on the port side. This case is one of the few that excited the public.

Such waves can reach 30 meters in height. They appear unexpectedly and in an instant can sink big ship. The wave that hit the side of the Marquez covered it with a wall of water, and the second one soon followed - deadly. It was she who decided the fate of the ship. 19 people died.

In the Bermuda Triangles, such waves are caused by the Gulf Stream, which lies near the United States. The reasons for their formation are simple: the waters of the Gulf Stream, flowing from south to north, meet with a storm front moving from north to south.

Waves form behind the storm front and follow in the same direction. Towards them, to the north, the waves formed by the Gulf Stream are moving. After their collision, a huge mass of water rises. And when nothing seems to portend danger, waves 3-5 meters high suddenly turn into 25-meter "monsters".

Unfortunately, today there is no device that would control or predict the occurrence of such a destructive phenomenon.

alien invasion

Some argue that this territory is commanded by aliens who are trying to study our planet. They allegedly destroy ships and planes so that no one will ever know about their visit.

Weather

This version is the most common and quite plausible. Constant weather changes, unexpected storms, storms, hurricanes become dangerous for any kind of transport.

Clouds with mysterious charges

This version was also considered by scientists. Many pilots who flew over the Bermuda Triangle area claimed to be in the center of a black cloud, within which lightning discharges and bright flashes sparkled.

So, the missing "link 19" before its crash transmitted a message that they were enveloped in some kind of dark cloud, due to which visibility was significantly impaired.

infrasound

There is a version that a sound appears in these areas, which terrifies all passengers and forces them to leave the transport.

During underwater earthquakes or landslides, powerful infrasonic vibrations occur at the bottom of the ocean, but scientists have proven that they can in no way be associated with a danger to life.

Relief features

Most researchers are inclined to believe that it is the complex topography of this anomalous zone that is to blame. Everything is explained by the fact that under the Bermuda Triangle there is a deep-water trench, mountains that reach a height of 150-200 meters, and cone-shaped hills with a diameter of tens of kilometers. Therefore, finding sunken ships in this area is almost impossible.

If you look under the water, then Bermuda resembles a huge dormant volcano. A depression extends from it to the north, the maximum depth of which reaches 8 km. It is in this area that most of the terrible incidents are observed.

It should be noted that Puerto Rico (deep trench) is the deepest part of the entire Atlantic (8742 km). Therefore, to find a sunken ship or a crashed plane here, again, is simply unrealistic.

The Bermuda Triangle, whose secrets have not yet been revealed, has the Blake Escarpment in the west - these are the steepest cliffs in the entire mystical Atlantic region. Some of them reach two kilometers in height. And the continental plume is divided in two by the most active current in the world - the Gulf Stream.

But even such unusual features of the relief cannot fully answer the questions that pundits and ordinary people have and shed at least a little light on these mysterious phenomena. The secrets of the Bermuda Triangle still remain beyond reason.

Mysticism at the bottom of the mysterious triangle

The well-known legend about the city that disappeared along with its inhabitants is no longer a legend at all. So say Canadian scientists who found a sunken settlement at the bottom of the Atlantic. This city is located off the east coast of Cuba, 700 meters from the most mystical zone in the whole world. The Bermuda Triangle was explored underwater by a robot that dived to the depths and photographed the surroundings. The images were subsequently studied by Canadian researchers who made an incredible discovery. What does the Bermuda Triangle hide from the eyes of people? Photos showed that at its bottom there are buildings, pyramids and figures, on the walls of which there are unfamiliar records. According to experts, the discovered buildings are very reminiscent of ancient architecture. The city at the bottom was discovered by Canadian scientists. In fact, they collided with the pyramids lying at the bottom of the triangle 10 years ago. At that time, the couple worked for the government, studying the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and looking for sunken ships and missing treasures.

In the end ice age the water level rose significantly, which is why many cities, islands and even continents were at the bottom of the ocean. The found settlement, according to scientists, is one of those.

There is an opinion that American researchers noticed this city in the late 50s, but they did not tell anyone about the find.

It is also known that the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle has not yet been studied by scientists themselves, so we will wait for new discoveries.

Mysterious disappearance in the Bermuda Triangle

Over the past 50 years, the Bermuda Triangle has gained a terrible reputation, which is why many are afraid to travel in these parts. They try to bypass the anomalous zone by the tenth road. Gained wide popularity sad story"link 19". Shortly after the disappearance of 5 Navy bombers, observers began to notice something strange. But first things first.

On December 5, 1945, 5 torpedo bombers, the crew of which consisted of 14 people, were preparing for a normal flight from the Florida airfield. In accordance with the plan, the bombers were supposed to fly to the Bahamas and conduct target practice there - the remains of a sunken ship. They flew over the ship several times and turned north towards the Bahamas. The detachment acted in accordance with the plan. Soon the crew of one of the planes, led by pilot Taylor, reported that they had gone astray. All his navigation devices have simply failed, and he cannot find a landmark. Meanwhile, the weather began to change suddenly. The wind changed its direction and began to blow from the north.

The control tower struggled to send them on the right route - towards Florida, but Taylor was completely confused and refused to listen to the dispatcher. Pilots in desperation circled over the water, trying to find at least something resembling land. But the weather got worse. Later, radio communication was cut off completely. The last thing we heard from one of the pilots was the words "white wall" and "strange water."

The next day, the search for the missing planes began. Several helicopters set out to carry out this dangerous mission. But here, too, something strange happened. One of them disappeared in the same mysterious way. But later the rescuers still managed to find out what happened to him. The sailors of the ship, passing very close, said that they heard a strong explosion high in the sky.

But neither the wreckage of the missing bombers, nor any remnants of the "search engine" were found. What happened to the planes? Where does the Bermuda Triangle hide its victims? The answers to these questions are not yet known to anyone.

Have the planes of "link 19" been found?

In 1991, the British scientist Graham Hawks made a real discovery. He claimed to have found five "link 19" aircraft. Quite by chance, while searching for a Spanish galleon, he, along with other members of the research group, allegedly stumbled upon the wreckage of fighters. Observations were recorded.

This story hit the headlines of all newspapers and magazines, and also created a stir among journalists and ordinary citizens. Graham promised to deal with this curious story within 2 weeks. Since submarines cost incredibly big money, the scientist decided to use an underwater camera, which was controlled by a special wire. After reviewing the resulting images, the researchers concluded that the planes did not belong to the “link 19”, and became even more confused.

After a while, Graham decides to go into it himself. mysterious place to understand what kind of aircraft they are. Together with him, one of the relatives of the missing pilot of "link 19" follows in search.

Having descended to the bottom of the ocean (to a depth of 220 meters), they notice an object that looks like a disappeared fighter.

The detected aircraft was broken into 2 parts, the wing and tail were completely torn off. The researchers found out that this fighter took off from Fort Lauderdale (from where the “link 19” also departed), and they determined this by the first letters (FT 23). But such meager information was clearly not enough to fully identify the aircraft.

After a while, Graham and his crew descend to the bottom again to find some more evidence, and find the other 4 planes. On one of them, the researchers noticed the inscription "FT 87" and saw an open cockpit, which means that the team could get out. Near the porthole, the researchers find a number on the wall of the plane (23990). At that time, similar numbers were assigned to each fighter, so with its help it was easy to find out what kind of object lies at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle.

Later, the researchers came to the conclusion that 4 aircraft definitely belonged to the “link 19”. What about the first find? Perhaps this is the missing search engine.

But there are still many questions. How did the Bermuda Triangle, whose photos suggest terrible thoughts, "swallowed" all 5 planes at the same time? And why did such an experienced pilot as Taylor make a fatal mistake, because the radars of neighboring aircraft were still working, and it was possible to contact the controllers? What was going on in his head, what was he thinking at that moment, why did he turn in the opposite direction if only 20 km remained to his destination? All these mysteries still remain unsolved.

After examining the situation from all sides, psychologists concluded that Taylor was affected by some kind of psychological factor, for example, spatial disorientation, which did not give him the opportunity to save himself and his crew.

"Cyclops"

In 1918, an American ship called the Cyclops went missing. This is the most significant loss, because 309 people disappeared without a trace with him.

This ship was a cargo ship, it transported fuel during the First World War. The length of the ship was 165 meters. Therefore, everyone is still at a loss, how could such a colossus disappear without a trace in the depths of the ocean?

In 1918, the loaded ship went to the United States, but never returned. The Cyclops was last seen in Barbados. Nobody sent any messages from the ship, therefore, everything went according to plan. But the connection was suddenly interrupted and ... the end.

Later, the Navy organized the largest search operation, but neither the wreckage of the ship nor the remains of the crew were ever found. Researchers believe that the wave is to blame for everything, which completely swallowed the ship and sent it to the bottom. But why has no trace been found so far? The answer, again, remains a mystery.

What is the Bermuda Triangle? Is the secret revealed or not? What is hidden in this anomalous zone? Are the events taking place in this place really mystical? Or can there be a logical explanation for everything? Who knows if mankind will find answers to all these questions... And will the future throw other mysteries?

Today, like 50 years ago, the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle excite the minds of the public. Will we ever be able to solve this riddle, will we be able to predict natural anomalies taking place in this area? Let's hope we find out about this in the near future.

Or Atlantis is a place where people disappear, ships and planes disappear, navigation instruments fail, and almost no one ever finds the wrecked. This hostile, mystical, ominous country for a person instills such great horror in the hearts of people that they often simply refuse to talk about it.

Bermuda Triangle: what is it

Few people knew about the existence of such a mysterious and amazing phenomenon called a hundred years ago.
To actively occupy people's minds and force them to put forward various hypotheses and theories, this mystery of the Bermuda Triangle began in the 70s. of the last century, when Charles Berlitz published a book in which he described the stories of the most mysterious and mystical disappearances in this region in an extremely interesting and fascinating way.

After that, the journalists picked up the story, developed the theme, and the story of the Bermuda Triangle began. Everyone began to worry about the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle and the place where the Bermuda Triangle or the missing Atlantis is located.

This wonderful place or the missing Atlantis is located in the Atlantic Ocean near the coast North America- between Puerto Rico, Miami and Bermuda. Placed in two climatic zones X: top part, large - in the subtropics, lower - in the tropics. If these points are connected with each other by three lines, a large triangular figure will appear on the map, the total area of \u200b\u200bwhich is about 4 million square kilometers.
This triangle is rather conditional, since ships also disappear outside its borders - and if you mark on the map all the coordinates of the disappearances, flying and floating Vehicle, then it will most likely turn out to be a rhombus.

The term itself is unofficial, its author is Vincent Gaddis, who in the 60s. last century published an article entitled "The Bermuda Triangle is the lair of the devil (death)". The note did not cause much excitement, but the phrase was fixed and reliably came into use.

Bermuda Triangle: possible causes of crashes

At knowledgeable people the fact that ships often crash here is not particularly surprising: this region is not easy to navigate - there are many shallows, a huge number of fast water and air currents, cyclones often arise and hurricanes rage.

What is hidden under water? The bottom relief in this area is interesting and varied, although it is nothing ordinary and has been studied quite well, since some time ago various studies and drilling were carried out here in order to find oil and other minerals.

Scientists have determined that the Bermuda Triangle, or the missing Atlantis, contains mostly sedimentary rocks, the layer thickness of which is from 1 to 2 km, and it itself looks like this:

  • Deep-water plains of oceanic basins - 35%;
  • Shelf with shoals - 25%;
  • The slope and foot of the mainland - 18%;
  • Plateau - 15%;
  • Deep ocean trenches - 5% (the deepest places of the Atlantic Ocean are located here, as well as its maximum depth - 8742 m, recorded in the Puerto Rican trench);
  • Deep straits - 2%;
  • Seamounts - 0.3% (there are six in total).

Secrets of the Bermuda Triangle: the Gulf Stream version

The Gulf Stream crosses the Bermuda Triangle in the west, so the air temperature here is usually 10 ° C higher than in the rest of this mysterious anomaly. Because of this, at collision sites of different temperatures atmospheric fronts it is not uncommon to see fog, often striking the mind of overly impressionable travelers.

The Gulf Stream itself is a very fast current, the speed of which often reaches ten kilometers per hour (it should be noted that many modern transoceanic ships move slightly faster - from 13 to 30 km / h). An extremely fast flow of water can easily slow down or increase the movement of the ship (it all depends on which direction it is sailing). There is nothing surprising in the fact that ships of weaker power in former times easily went off course and were swept absolutely in the wrong direction, as a result of which they suffered wrecks and disappeared forever in the oceanic abyss. But this is only one of the versions that are decisive.

Riddles of the Bermuda Triangle - other versions

Currents and whirlpools
In addition to the Gulf Stream, strong but irregular currents constantly arise in the Bermuda Triangle, the appearance or direction of which is almost never predictable. They are formed mainly under the influence of tidal and ebb waves in shallow water and their speed is as high as that of the Gulf Stream - and is about 10 km / h.

As a result of their occurrence, whirlpools are often formed, causing trouble for small ships with a weak engine. There is nothing surprising in the fact that if in former times a sailing ship got here, it was not easy for him to get out of the whirlwind, and under especially unfavorable circumstances, one might even say - impossible.

water shafts
The Bermuda Triangle is an area where hurricanes form, with wind speeds of about 120 m/s, also generating fast currents, whose speed is equal to the speed of the Gulf Stream. They, creating huge shafts, rush along the surface of the Atlantic Ocean until they hit the coral reefs at great speed, breaking the ship if it had the misfortune to be in the path of giant waves.

Sargasso Sea
In the east of the Bermuda Triangle, the Sargasso Sea is located - a sea without coasts, surrounded on all sides instead of land by the strong currents of the Atlantic Ocean - the Gulf Stream, the North Atlantic, the North Trade Wind and the Canary.

Outwardly, it seems that its waters are motionless, the currents are weak and hardly noticeable, while the water here is constantly moving, since the water flows, pouring into it from all sides, rotate sea water clockwise.

Another notable feature of the Sargasso Sea is the huge amount of algae in it (contrary to popular belief, areas with completely clean water also available here). When in former times ships were brought here for some reason, they got entangled in dense sea plants and, falling into a whirlpool, albeit slowly, they were no longer able to get back. This is another option to decide.

Traffic air masses
Since this area lies in the trade winds, the Bermuda Triangle is constantly blown extremely strong winds. Stormy days are not uncommon here (according to various meteorological services, there are about eighty stormy days here a year - that is, once every four days the weather here is terrible and disgusting.

Here is another explanation of why missing ships and planes were found earlier. It is now that almost all captains are aware of the meteorologists when exactly the weather will be bad. Previously, due to the lack of information, during terrible storms, many sea vessels found their last refuge in this area.

In addition to the trade winds, cyclones feel comfortable here, the air masses of which, creating whirlwinds and tornadoes, rush at a speed of 30-50 km / h. They are extremely dangerous, because, raising warm water up, they turn it into huge water columns (often their height reaches 30 meters), with an unpredictable trajectory and crazy speed. A small ship in such a situation has practically no chance of surviving, a large one is likely to stay afloat, but it is unlikely to get out of trouble safe and sound.

Infrasonic signals
Another reason for the huge number of accidents, experts call the ability of the ocean to produce infrasound signals that cause panic among the crew, because of which people can even throw themselves overboard. The sound of this frequency affects not only waterfowl, but also aircraft.

Researchers assign an important role in this process to hurricanes, storm winds and high waves. When the wind starts to beat against the crests of the waves, a low-frequency wave arises, which almost immediately rushes forward and signals the approach of a strong storm. While moving, she catches up with the floating ship, hits the sides of the ship, then goes down to the cabins.

Once in a confined space, the infrasonic wave begins to psychologically put pressure on the people there, causing panic and nightmarish visions, and seeing their own scary nightmares, people lose control of themselves and jump overboard in desperation. The ship completely leaves life, it is left without control and begins to drift until it is found (which can take more than one decade).

The infrasonic wave acts on aircraft in a slightly different way. An infrasonic wave hits a plane flying over the Bermuda Triangle, which, as in the previous case, begins to psychologically put pressure on the pilots, as a result, they stop thinking about what they are doing, especially since at this moment phantoms begin to appear in front of them. Further, either the pilot will crash, or he will be able to take the ship out of the dangerous zone for him, or the autopilot will save him.

Gas bubbles: methane
Researchers are constantly putting forward Interesting Facts about the Bermuda Triangle. For example, there are suggestions that in the area of the Bermuda Triangle bubbles often form, filled with gas - methane, which appears from cracks in the ocean floor that were formed after the eruptions of ancient volcanoes (oceanographers found huge accumulations of methane crystal hydrate above them).

After some time, certain processes begin to occur in methane for one reason or another (for example, their appearance can cause a weak earthquake) - and it forms a bubble, which, rising up, bursts at the surface of the water. When this happens, the gas escapes into the air, and a funnel forms in place of the former bubble.

Sometimes the ship passes over the bubble without problems, sometimes it breaks through it, and crashes. In reality, no one has ever seen the impact of methane bubbles on ships, some researchers claim that a huge number of ships go missing for this very reason.

When the ship hits the crest of one of the waves, the ship begins to descend - and then the water under the ship suddenly bursts, disappears - and it falls into empty space, after which the waters close - and water rushes into it. There is no one to save the ship at this time - when the water disappeared, concentrated methane gas escaped, instantly killing the entire crew, and the ship sinks, and forever ends up on the ocean floor.

The authors of this hypothesis are convinced that this theory also explains the reasons for the presence of ships with dead sailors in this area, on whose bodies no injuries were found. Most likely, the ship, when the bubble burst, was far enough away that something threatened it, but the gas got to people.

As for airplanes, methane can also have a detrimental effect on them. Basically, this happens when methane that has risen into the air enters the fuel, explodes, and the plane falls down, after which, falling into a whirlpool, it disappears forever in the ocean depths.
Magnetic anomalies
In the area of the Bermuda Triangle, magnetic anomalies also often occur, confusing all the navigational equipment of ships. They are unstable, and appear mainly when the tectonic plates diverge as much as possible.

As a result, unstable electric fields and magnetic disturbances arise that adversely affect the psychological state of a person, change instrument readings and neutralize radio communications.

Riddles of the Bermuda Triangle: hypotheses of the disappearance of ships

Riddles of the Bermuda Triangle never cease to interest the human mind. Why it is here that ships crash and disappear, journalists and lovers of everything unknown put forward many more theories and assumptions.

Some believe that interruptions in navigation instruments are caused by Atlantis, namely its crystals, which were previously located precisely on the territory of the Bermuda Triangle. Despite the fact that from ancient civilization only tiny crumbs of information have come down to us, these crystals are still active and send signals from the depths of the ocean floor that cause interruptions in navigation instruments.

Another interesting theory is that the Bermuda Triangle contains portals leading to other dimensions (both in space and time). Some are even sure that it was through them that aliens penetrated the Earth in order to kidnap people and ships.

Military operations or piracy - many believe (even if this is not proven) that the loss of modern ships is directly related to these two reasons, especially since such cases have happened repeatedly before. Human error - ordinary disorientation in space and incorrect interpretation of instrument indicators may also well be the cause of the death of the ship.

Is there a secret to the Bermuda Triangle?

Is it disclosed Mystery of the Bermuda Triangle? Despite the excitement raised around the Bermuda Triangle, scientists argue that in reality this territory is no different, and a large number of accidents are mainly associated with difficult navigation natural conditions(especially since the World Ocean contains many other places that are more dangerous for humans). And the fear that causes or the missing Atlantis - these are ordinary prejudices constantly fueled by journalists and other lovers of sensationalism.

Surely most people at least once thought about what is happening in the notorious Bermuda Triangle. There are many misconceptions and myths associated with this sinister place, as well as theories and facts. Here is some of them.

1. Devil's Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle is also known as the Devil's Triangle. It got its name because of all the mysterious events and supposed catastrophes that happened in the area.

2. "Big fire"

Christopher Columbus was the first to record strange incidents in the area. One of his notes says that one night, not far from the ship, a "Big Fire" (probably a meteor) fell into the sea with thunder.

3. Compass

Columbus also noted strange compass readings. Today, some scientists suggest that the reason for this may be the combination North Pole and the magnetic North Pole.

4. Sense of timing

Some pilots claimed that they "lost the sense of time" when they flew over the triangle. This has led some people to speculate about possible temporal distortions and travel in parallel dimensions.

5 USS Cyclops

The Bermuda Triangle didn't get much attention until 1918, when the American ship USS Cyclops sank there with 300 people on board. The ship did not send an SOS and was never found.
President Woodrow Wilson said, "Only God and the sea know what happened to the great ship." In 1941, two ships of the same series with the USS Cyclops also disappeared without a trace ... while following the same route.

6. Loss of 5 Navy aircraft

The Bermuda Triangle gained notoriety as an anomaly in 1945, when five Navy planes went on a mission off the coast of Florida. The pilots were disoriented by the faulty compass readings and eventually the planes ran out of fuel. At least that's what the main theory says.

7. Bermuda Triangle

It wasn't until 1964 that Vincent Gaddis coined the term "Bermuda Triangle" by mentioning the name in a magazine article. Since then, science fiction writers have offered a host of explanations, including aliens, reverse gravity fields, and even sea monsters. One scientist aptly remarked that trying to find the cause of all the catastrophes and accidents in the Bermuda Triangle is like trying to find out the cause of all car accidents in Arizona.

8. Miami, Puerto Rico, Bermuda

The region was called a triangle for a reason. It is located roughly in the shape of a triangle between Bermuda, Miami and Puerto Rico.

9. Abandoned, drifting, unidentified...

There have been several reports that local coastal waters saw drifting abandoned ships. In most cases, these ships could not be identified, and the fate of their crews remained a mystery.

10. “The plane seemed to have flown to Mars”

In 1945, a search and rescue aircraft was sent to search and rescue missing sailors in the Bermuda Triangle. He disappeared with 13 people on board. After carrying out mass search operations, representatives navy said: "The plane seemed to have flown to Mars."

11. Average norm

Scientists did some research. Despite all the mysterious disappearances, they found that, given tropical storms and other weather, the number of missing ships and planes is actually not beyond what would be expected statistically.

12. Gulf Stream, reefs, storms...

It's also worth noting that, along with scientists, the US Coast Guard and even leading shipping companies don't believe the Bermuda Triangle is inherently more dangerous than any other part of the ocean. Most likely, accidents are caused by a combination of storms, reefs, the Gulf Stream and other factors.

13. Huge bubbles of methane

One of the craziest explanations for disasters is that huge bubbles of methane rising from the sea floor cause ships to sink. As to why most of the wrecks could not be found, it is assumed that all the wrecks of the sunken ships were carried away by the Gulf Stream.

14. "12 Evil Whirlwinds"

Another popular sci-fi explanation is that the Bermuda Triangle is one of the "12 Evil Whirlwinds" located near the Earth's equator. These eddies are the sites of numerous unexplained events and disappearances.

15. 20 yachts and 4 aircraft per year

How many disappearances are recorded in the Bermuda Triangle every year? Regardless of the reasons, about 20 yachts and 4 planes still go missing here every year.

The mysterious Bermuda Triangle is located in the Atlantic Ocean, east of Florida. In this mysterious area, incomprehensible events take place: aircraft and sea vessels disappear, navigation instruments, radio transmitters, watches fail. It is claimed that there is a "triangle" similar to Bermuda even in pacific ocean, but they gave him a name - Devilish.

Over the past hundred years, about 100 large ships have disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle. In addition to these mysterious disappearances, "ghost" ships were also reported abandoned by the crew for unknown reasons. They also talked about quite unusual phenomena, such as movements in space, the anomalous course of time. Researchers are puzzled by these phenomena, but many believe that similar things are happening outside the Bermuda Triangle. There were no notes at all about separate strange events in official sources - only rumors.

The most famous and sensational incident in the area involved the mysterious disappearance of five American Avenger-class bombers. There wasn't even a wreckage left of them. On a clear morning on December 5, 1945, these aircraft set off on a routine patrol flight from the base naval forces USA in Florida. The squadron was flown by 14 experienced pilots. But for some unknown reason, the planes disappeared. When communicating with the base, the pilots talked about incomprehensible spontaneous failures of navigation equipment, some irresistible force prevented them from knowing where they were, the military reported that they could not determine where they were, and the ocean did not look like it usually does. In one of last words the pilots reported that they were descending into white waters. It was heard that the crew was nervous and swearing. After a while, the connection was cut off completely. Other planes were immediately sent to search for the Avenjors. But they returned with nothing, and one of them also disappeared without a trace.

How could planes with experienced professionals on board disappear? According to one version, the pilots encountered paranormal phenomena in the air. Another version, more scientific, explains the mysterious phenomena in the Bermuda Triangle natural phenomena. For example, gas emissions as a result of the decay of methane hydrate at the bottom of the sea. Researchers suggest that it is methane-saturated bubbles that cause the death of aircraft and ships. Such bubbles not only "drown" ships, but also cause aircraft crashes: rising into the air, methane lowers its density. As a result, the lifting force of aircraft is reduced, the readings of the sensors are distorted, and the engines may stop.

But skeptics object to such theories: there is methane in other places of the oceans, but nothing like this happens there! The press periodically reports new unusual cases in the Bermuda Triangle. For example, described amazing story that happened to an American submarine. The submarine was at a depth of 70 meters when the sailors heard an incomprehensible sound and felt a vibration, which, however, ended pretty soon. What was the team's surprise when the navigation system showed that the submarine was in the Indian Ocean and not the Atlantic Ocean!

The headquarters of the US Navy refrained from any comments. There is an assumption that ships perish in a mysterious triangle as a result of encounters with "wandering" waves. These giant killer waves can reach a height of 30 meters or more. And the "date" with them inevitably ends in tragedy. However, wandering waves are a phenomenon that is not unique to the Bermuda Triangle.

There is also a version that the infrasonic vibrations emitted by the sea during a strong storm have such negative impact on the human body, that a panic may begin on the ship. As a result, people hastily leave the ship, and then it plows the ocean expanses in the manner of the legendary "Flying Dutchman". But are the infrasonic vibrations of the sea characteristic only of the Bermuda phenomenon? And is there any evidence that sea vibrations cause mental disorders?

Specialist in marine physics, academician V.V. Shuleikin once answered this question quite unambiguously. He rejected any existence of such a possibility, because for many years he studied the infrasound that the sea generates. With an increase in wind speed and wave amplitude, the intensity of infrasounds emitted by the sea increases. They propagate mainly at speeds up to 330 meters per second. The wave of infrasound travels much faster than the hurricane that generated it. But even the most powerful hurricane is not capable of creating such radiation that would be life-threatening.

Fans of exotic hypotheses put forward versions of the abduction of ships from the Bermuda Triangle by space aliens or residents of Atlantis, they even talk about the movement of objects through holes in time or faults in space. However, skeptics, and there are not so few of them, believe that reports of mysterious cases in the area are greatly exaggerated.

Be that as it may, the mysterious Bermuda Triangle is still in no hurry to reveal its secrets.

Flying on a plane over the ocean, every time I was very afraid that we would not be swallowed by the Bermuda Triangle. Therefore, to determine its exact location, I had to work hard. But now I know exactly where he is, and I'm afraid there. :)

What is the Bermuda Triangle and where is it located?

I'm sure everyone at least once in their life has heard about the Bermuda Triangle and its mystical features - to drag flying and floating objects into its funnel. Moreover, the size of these objects can be gigantic.

The Bermuda Triangle is located in the Atlantic Ocean. Its area is about 4 million square meters. km, which covers two climatic zones at once: tropical and subtropical.

The dangerous triangle occupies the territory between the following paradise resorts:

  • Miami;
  • Puerto Rico;
  • Bermuda.

Some scientists agreed that the sunken Atlantis is exactly the territory on which the modern Bermuda Triangle is located.

Why do ships disappear?

There are many reasons why planes, ships and people disappear without a trace when they enter the territory of the triangle. Both scientific and fantastic.

But I think that both factors are at work here.

If you believe that the lost Atlantis rests at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle, then, according to one version, there are portals leading to another dimension. Why not? I quite admit it.

And otherworldly entities come out through these portals in order to pick up another ship.

This already, of course, smacks of science fiction, but if we consider it in figuratively, then maybe just these portals open due to air masses or undercurrents of the Gulf Stream. That's where the ships are sucked in.

There is another, quite plausible version, according to which giant bubbles filled with methane form at the bottom of the ocean.

Having risen to the surface of the water, they burst from contact with the bottom of the ship, forming a void under them, into which the ship falls. From above, the water closes, and the ship disappears forever...

Like many, I was also fascinated by everything related to the Bermuda Triangle as a child. A place where planes, ships, crews from ships disappeared without a trace. From such stories breathed mysticism ...

Is it a triangle

As I got older, I read the scientific theories that explain what's going on in this zone. anomalous phenomena. But the veil of mystery around the Bermuda Triangle has not disappeared.

In general, cases of missing ships and aircraft were recorded both west and south of the triangle (Gulf of Mexico and Northern part Caribbean). If we analyze the coordinates of the disappearance of all the missing ships and aircraft, then we can rather talk about a rhombus.

But I will stick to the generally accepted terminology.

Where to look for the Bermuda Triangle

Look at the map and connect lines between Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Here is the desired figure. Its area is quite large - about 4 million square kilometers.

Knowledgeable people say that there is nothing surprising in the loss of ships, since the area of the triangle is difficult in terms of navigation. After all, the region is characterized by:

  • cyclones often originating here;
  • frequent hurricanes;
  • swift water and air currents;
  • many shoals.

Theories and assumptions

I found several more hypotheses trying to explain the disappearance of ships:

  • infrasound signals allegedly produced by the ocean, causing panic in humans;
  • giant bubbles of methane bursting on the surface and thus forming a huge funnel;
  • magnetic anomalies affecting the psyche of people and ship instruments.

The portal is periodically activated, and ships that are unfortunate enough to be in this place at this time disappear in it. And the portal itself is located on an alien ship that once crashed in this zone.

In general, I'm not a coward, but I'm afraid. And I am very glad that I do not have to travel regularly in the Bermuda Triangle zone!

My friends have been working on a pleasure liner for the fifth year. Their route runs from New York through Bermuda and San Juan. they say that stories about the Bermuda Triangle are nothing more than a myth. That is, physically this place exists and is even marked on the map, but travel experience shows that there is no mysticism. True, my friend really wanted to see this place with his own eyes, but all the time he could not understand why he did not see it. He always went out on deck either when they had already passed it, or when they had not yet reached it, so he wondered:

Where is this ominous Bermuda Triangle

And he himself believed in mysticism. But, of course, Misha should just sleep less and work more. In fact, the triangle is so named because this place, endowed with a "mystical secret", is located between three points - Bermuda, Florida () and. I'm not even too lazy and attach a map:

If you draw a line between, Bermuda and, then you can see that the triangle captures most of the Sargasso Sea, as well as a line of islands in the southern strip. Islands that fall within the Triangle include:

  • Bermuda.
  • Turks and Caicos Islands.
  • Some Bahamas (Marsh Harbour).
  • Berry Islands.

Navigation doesn't work well in the Triangle, that's a fact. This is explained by the presence of shallows, due to which all sorts of cyclones arise. That is, there may be some failures in the system. Nevertheless, according to my friends, no one was lost and there were no hints of failures, although such cases were recorded in practice.

Triangle distance from coastal cities

The triangle is quite large in size, if you sail from, heading to the Bahamas, and turn towards Bermuda, you are already in a triangle. Similarly, keeping the way to Bermuda with Cuba, Dominican Republic You find yourself in its waters. Bermuda itself is located to the north, approximately at the level of the state of South Carolina, 1148 miles from the city of Atlanta:

By the way, according to my "sea wolves", Bermuda and the area between them and Cuba are simply incredibly fabulous places and the cost of a ticket here is twice as expensive as all other routes. A photo of the islands from a bird's eye view looks like this (inspiring nothing but the thought of a paradise vacation):

As a child, I was very fond of all sorts of riddles and secrets. I even had a book - “Monsters. Ghosts. UFO". And most of all I was interested in the Bermuda Triangle. After all, there are strange phenomena that cannot be explained. I even wanted to get there in order to independently determine where people disappeared. I was removed from the train I was going to go there. I didn't know how far this place was.

Where is the Bermuda Triangle

Bermuda Triangle is in western atlantic ocean. This area also has its borders from Florida to Bermuda, then to and through the Bahamas back to Florida. Samo title took root only in 50s of the last century. Although, according to statistics, unexplained phenomena often occur houtside this areas.

There is also a theory that this location mysterious Atlantiss, and mysterious phenomena occur here because of the crystals that were the source of the city's energy. What happens in this anomalous zone:

  • numerous accidents at sea and in the air;
  • navigation problems;
  • unpredictable weather and destructive hurricanes;
  • the disappearance of ships and aircraft;
  • time curvature.

And in 1992 in the center of the triangle was found pyramid, which is 3 times the pyramid of Cheops. Although there were no official reports about her. Perhaps these studies are strictly classified?

Mystery solved

Recently Australian scientists gave their explanation for mysterious disappearances. The problem is in natural gas methane, which is located on the seabed . It is released from giant cracks and, having turned into a large bubble, comes to the surface. A ship that falls into this trap instantly sinks to the bottom. The same fate awaits aircraft. This theory also explains the cases with the dead crew - people were simply suffocating.

But methane evaporation do not explain all anomalies in this zone. There were cases when the ship was found, but the crew was not. Where have people gone? And often the inhabitants of the coast notice mysterious flying objects. I wonder what the Bermuda Triangle hides and will it ever reveal its secrets?
