The main feature of most American tanks (compared to the tanks of other nations) is their mobility. Due to their mobility and relatively small size, these tanks can perform almost any task on the battlefield. Of course, this makes them less powerful, long-range or armored relative to other tanks, but at the same time they are almost always devoid of obvious shortcomings (or there are fewer such shortcomings). They are less specialized and more versatile. When using American tanks, it is extremely important for the player to understand the terrain and his position, to be aware of his own strengths and weaknesses, and to imagine the weaknesses of rival tanks - in this case, he will be able to win with a much greater probability than players of other nations placed in the same conditions.
Now let's move on to more detailed review US tanks.
There is no mistake in this subheading - in the “garage” of America there is only one light tank, T1 Cunningham, which you will receive at the very beginning of the game. It is a compact, agile and fastest rank 1 light tank in the game. Thanks to its powerful engine, it overcomes obstacles perfectly, accelerates quickly and picks up high speed, which makes it an excellent scout and allows you to quickly mark enemy tanks at the beginning of the game. Second useful feature Cunningham's T1 are his semi-automatic guns, capable of quickly firing a burst of five projectiles and reloading relatively quickly (5 seconds is pretty fast for semi-automatic guns in the game). Such armament allows this tank to quickly destroy enemy light tanks. With heavier tanks, however, there will be a problem - the penetration and caliber of the shells of the Cunningham guns are quite low, so firing at strong armor will be practically useless, especially at an angle. Another key weakness of this tank is its almost paper armor, which can be easily penetrated by almost any opponent, even at an angle. If you chose the American development branch and started playing on such a tank, then stick to the “hit and run” tactics and never stand still in battle. The hit will be very painful, but, fortunately, hitting you will not be so easy if you know how to competently move between covers and change height.
Fortunately, America has much more medium tanks than one. The first medium tank you will get right after the light T1 Cunningham at rank two - it will be the T2 Medium Tank. With the change in class, the T2 MT tank received relatively good armor capable of holding back fire from small-caliber guns, but lost the mobility of the previous model and, most importantly, greatly increased in size, which made it an excellent target for enemies. Nevertheless, his semi-automatic weapons have become more powerful and capable of destroying light equipment the enemy without any problems if you manage to drop a full magazine into the enemy tank. This tank has become more combat-oriented, but focused on close and medium-range battles - from snipers shooting from afar, you will have to hide in an ambush.
The next M2 Medium Tank after it changed the approach to shooting - capable of equipping powerful 75mm guns, it easily knocks tanks of its rank and below out of the game, especially when shooting from the flanks. In addition, mobility has increased - the M2 is a fast and agile tank capable of quickly changing its position in battle. This tank looks much less like a huge refrigerator on tracks compared to the previous T2, which only makes it better. However, if we talk about armor, the M2 is protected only from the front thanks to strong corner armor - the armor can be penetrated from the side and from behind by almost any weapon, and the tank has low health, so each penetration can be fatal. Also, its high-caliber cannon is not particularly accurate, and at long distances you can easily miss even with the correct aiming.
The “descendant” of this tank is the M3 Lee, which looks more like a tank destroyer than a medium tank. The fact is that the M3 Lee cannon is not on the turret, like in tanks, but in the hull, like in tank destroyers, which greatly complicates the game for everyone who does not have experience playing tank destroyers. At the same time, the M3 cannot be praised for its stealth capabilities of tank destroyers - it is large and easily marked by the enemy, and its armor is by no means the strongest. How then to play for him? Due to sufficient mobility and the highest rate of fire, this tank excels in close range battles - set up ambushes and destroy the enemy at close range.
The reward for the “difficult” M3 Lee will be the famous M4 Sherman following it. This tank has become iconic for the American tank forces - you can compare its popularity, for example, with the popularity of the T34 in Soviet branch tanks. M4 Sherman is very good tank, capable of performing any role in combat - it shoots large-caliber projectiles, is mobile and well-fortified. Unfortunately, it is not ideal - its mobility is limited by low acceleration, the turret has almost no armor, and the cannons fire very inaccurately. However, thanks to its many advantages, this tank can be used in any situation if you know how to manage it.
The development of the M4 Sherman are two models - a stronger and heavier, but slower M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo and a faster, but less robust M4A3E8 Sherman. Both of them have a high rate of fire from 76mm guns, but both deal mediocre damage and have not very high levels of gun penetration. At the same time, both have a rather curved shape and are able to “beat off” projectiles fired at an angle. The first one and a half times stronger, the second one and a half times more mobile - this is the main difference between these modifications of the M4 Sherman. Both of these tanks further lead to the medium tank T20, which follows the path of lightness and speed - its chic guns can deal high damage, penetrate well and shoot accurately, and the speed of movement allows you to bypass opponents and quickly take a tactically correct position. reverse side medals, as expected in such cases, is the thickness of the armor - it is very thin and does not withstand shots penetrating shells. Also, when using a 90mm gun, the rate of fire is reduced, which reduces the overall effectiveness of the tank.
The follower of the T20 is the M26 Pershing. The Pershing is a solid tank, able to move quite quickly and still shoot accurately. Its strong point is its excellent target penetration when using APCR-type projectiles, while its weak point is its low penetration with regular AP. Get ready to spend a lot of money on ammunition! Otherwise, this is the tank that is able to provide excellent support to the allies and is always useful in battle.
After the M26 comes the M46 Patton, essentially an evolution of the M26 that has lighter armor but is able to travel faster and deal even more pure damage on penetration.But on the other hand, America's final medium tank, the M48A1 Patton, is quite different from its predecessor - it is strong (everywhere except for the rear and the dome on the turret), agile and has very accurate guns. It does not accelerate to the highest speeds and is quite large - so when using it, you will have to use cover and try not to stand still.
The first US heavy tank is the T1. heavy tank, which appears after the aforementioned M3 Lee. Despite being a heavy tank, it has good mobility and a high rate of fire with good penetration. The problem with this tank lies in the relatively thin side armor and low accuracy of the guns - it is designed for head-on combat.
Next comes the M6 tank, which continues to develop in the same direction, but focuses on speed and sacrifices its frontal armor. Rapid-firing and accurate weapons are his forte, but he must move more and try to avoid enemy fire.
The next T29 after him is an ideal tank for shooting from under the enemy. Its strongest turret can withstand a lot of shots, and its accurate and powerful weapon deals a lot of damage to almost any enemy. Unfortunately, its hull is not so strong and cannot withstand hits from piercing shells even from the front, and the gun takes a long time to reload - it is best to use this tank for ambushes.The descendant of this tank, the T32, continues the same line of behavior and has (at maximum upgrade) the most durable turret in the game. It is simply useless to shoot at it with standard projectiles, so this tank can easily show it from behind cover and shoot enemies. At the same time, T32 is quite mobile and can quickly change its position. The minus T29 has not gone away - the hull armor is not very strong, so it is best to use this tank to support allies from cover.
The heavy tank M103 that follows it is very different - it does not boast an invulnerable turret, but its armor is curved and allows you to deflect a lot of shots if positioned correctly. Its 120mm guns are fast, accurate and very powerful, allowing you to quickly get rid of opponents - but only if they are in front. If this tank gets surrounded, the warped armor won't help it fend off shots, and the flanked ammo tends to explode quickly and destroy the tank on impact. Always try to cover your sides when using this tank!
The latest US heavy tank, the T110E5, is very different from the top heavy tanks of other nations - it is very agile and fast, as its huge armor is replaced by curved armored sections, which are most likely to be fired upon by the enemy. At the same time, the guns of this tank are powerful and fast-firing, which allows it to quickly destroy many rivals, remaining undamaged. However, if the enemy discovers or accidentally touches weak spots tank, then it will quickly come to an end (relative to other heavy tanks of the tenth rank).
Unlike light tanks, US tank destroyers are represented in the game by a large number of models - as many as 16! But at the same time, it doesn’t make much sense to describe each one separately - they all have approximately similar qualities up to T28 of the eighth rank. Starting from the T18 and ending with the T25 (i.e., from the second to the seventh ranks), all American tank destroyers are characterized by their rather large size and thin armor, but at the same time, by their highest speed and rate of fire. The accuracy of their guns gradually increases, allowing them to become snipers and shoot enemies from afar, but America's first tank destroyers were created more for shooting from cover at medium distances. We should also mention the M10 Wolverine - this tank destroyer has a turret and is not only mobile, but can also aim at enemies much faster than any representatives before it. Only starting from T28, American tank destroyers change (and radically). The T28 gets slower, but gets thick frontal armor and is able to take the enemy “by force” without resorting to constant maneuvering – and this is one of the slowest tanks in the game. Only the T95 is slower, the slowest tank in the game, with extremely thick armor and powerful large-caliber weapons. He is not able to withstand several opponents surrounding him at the same time, but he easily holds back any number of enemies in front. The latest US tank destroyer, the T110E3, is slightly faster but just as rugged and powerful as its ancestor. His toughest turret allows him to deflect even premium projectiles, making him extremely dangerous when shooting from behind obstacles. Weak side are the relatively fragile sides of the hull and the unfortunate location of ammunition - on the lower front of the hull. If you keep your hull out of reach, this tank can destroy opponents quickly and effectively, without letting them move!

Т110Е3 is a new pt that is pumped through the slowest car in the game. For those in the tank: the slowest vehicle in the game is the T95, and its maximum speed is only 13 km/h. In the world of wot art, I have always considered T95 to be my food - you really can’t run away from it at such a speed. And the roof of this AT is very thin, which allows arte to do a lot of damage.
From the T95, the T110E3 received a low speed: 26 km / h. But remember about the crew: if it accompanies you from the beginning of the world of tanks - sandbox game, by level 10 the team should have at least 2 perks, and skills can make the T110E3 very fast compared to the T95. Yes, wot art will still consider you its food, but you will be able to survive more often than on T95.
Т110Е3 received a gun with an average damage of 850 and penetration of 295mm. Shooting with premium shells will cost 12 gold wot per shot, but penetration is as much as 375mm. With such a gun, a battle at level 10 does not resemble a serious game, but a fan game world of tanks - a sandbox. A tier 9 heavy tank is only two shots for us. And it’s not a fact that it will pierce the forehead of our PT, because its frontal armor is no worse than that of the T95: 305mm.
As the name suggests, the parent of the T110E3 is the heavy tank that crowned the American wot branch, the T110E5. And Fri received cons from him: unlike the T95, the T110E3 does not have shielded sides, and their thickness is only 76mm. This means that it is very easy to break through us from the side. Plus, we get serious damage from close explosions of artillery mines. From the T110E5 we also received a large turret - a rather weak spot.
In general, the T110E3 is a worthy successor to the T95. This tank destroyer absorbed most of the advantages of its predecessor, supplementing them with what the T95 lacked - more or less decent speed and agility. Confirmation of these words is given in the wot video gameplay - a recording of one of the thousands of battles.
AT wot game American Fri received an alternative branch. This is a unique tank destroyer branch, because it contains not classic vehicles with fixed cabins, but tank destroyers equipped with a turret. Before the introduction of level 10 Fri, the crown of this branch was the ex-heavy T30.
What is the T30 in the role of Fri? In my opinion, this is the saddest Fri of all on the 9th level. We have armor only in the forehead of the tower. The body of the T30 is cardboard, and only a firefly will not break through it. We have a powerful gun, but the developers thought that the turret was too much, so they compensated for it with nerfs: they worsened the dynamics, the dispersion of the gun even with a small turret rotation is just awful, and the rate of fire is from 17.7 seconds to 19 seconds. This is the most lightly armored and slow firing pt of all at lvl 9. And, despite the higher speed than that of the T95, in the world of tanks, artillery destroys the T30 in a couple of volleys.

Due to a decent aiming angle, it will be possible to actively attack enemies, but it is better to go up the hill. Thus, it will be easier to confront opponents if artillery does not cover. Pleased with the presence of a projectile of 198 mm, which can inflict damage of 320 units at a time. Among the minuses - a small mobility, large size and a cardboard base that is lightly penetrated by the enemy.

But the weapon is so fast-firing that it easily pierces the enemy, descends by 12 degrees, from the 5th level you will be able to get acquainted with the concept of such machines, but it is important to take into account their dynamics, visibility and vertical aiming.

It has not only excellent dynamics, but also tough stabilization on the go. It is present in some of the medium tanks of the 10th level.
