In the winter of 1942, the production of prototypes began, called VK 4501 (P) ("Porsche") and VK 4501 (H) ("Henschel"). Both samples performed excellently and the decision to select a sample for series production was not accepted. Hitler insisted on the parallel production of both types, the military leadership leaned towards the Henschel car, while the Porsche version was closer to the Fuhrer.

The tests were continued in April - June, in parallel, the Nibelungenwerke company began assembling the first serial Porsche Tigers. Gun accuracy - 0.33 m per 100 m - good indicator for a strand, the mixing time in the drain is quite long: 2.7 s. The minimum mixing time with equipment, upgraded crew and consumables is 2.32 s. In the stock state, the charging of the gun takes 8.22 seconds, with “full stuffing” in just 6.8 seconds.

Declination angles are mediocre: -6° down and 17° up, which will not allow you to easily exchange fire on hilly terrain.

Dynamics. It's all pretty sad. With a weight of 62 tons, the 2x Porsche Typ 100/3 engine with a power of 670 hp provides a power density of 10.8 hp/t and acceleration of up to 35 km/h forward and up to 12 km/h rear progress, which is rather mediocre. As befits a heavy tank, we can boldly crawl into the thick of the battle and, holding the enemy back with our armor, distribute shells to everyone who wants to, be sure to turn the hull, and go into cover for the reload time. The armor will forgive some mistakes, and it will be possible to break through the red hordes advancing on you almost by “shooting at the silhouette”.

But if we get the second option, and we find ourselves at the “bottom” of the list, then immediately our heavy German friend turns from a terrible destruction machine into a much less formidable, modest support tank. Here, many, many, almost everyone will easily break through us, even a high-level LT harmlessly examining the surroundings, and for this reason it is better to stay behind the backs of stronger comrades who always come to the rescue and kindly take all the damage into themselves, playing the role of support and issuing damage after discharging the enemy. Here you should not show off 200 mm of frontal armor and certainly do not crawl with all available speed into the first ranks of the attack, unless of course you want to quickly change the tank or go to eat.

By the way, at long distances, the battle can be fought no less effectively, the gun at the "Tiger", as befits any German, is well-aimed, and allows you to target the enemy's vulnerable points. And thanks to good penetration, the crew of almost any enemy tank will appreciate the power of your ammunition, both armor-piercing and sub-caliber. Everything is extremely simple here, we find a bush that you really like, preferably a larger one, we settle in more comfortably, and voila, you are a tank destroyer, big, scary and awkward, but still.

But in any case, you should always monitor the situation around you and not lose your vigilance. It is forbidden to engage in battle with enemy forces superior to you in the absence of an advantageous position, because our tank, as we remember, is clumsy, large and slow. Neither you can fight off the annoying LT - it will simply whirl, nor go into a desperate flight - there is neither speed nor dynamics. Based on this, it should be understood that the choice of direction must be made deliberately, it will often be impossible to make a maneuver to change the flank.

Advantages:

  • accurate and fast-firing top gun;
  • good review;
  • a large margin of safety;
  • decent armor penetration;

Flaws:

  • poor driving performance;
  • low turret rotation speed;
  • the angular shape of the tank (the probability of ricochet is lower);
  • low one-time damage of the top gun compared to other nations;

As a result, we have the following: Tiger (P) a machine worthy of its development branch, perfectly demonstrating its gameplay features, and gradually introducing the essence of armor into the gameplay. The tank is quite interesting, versatile, and very dependent on the level of combat, but, like most vehicles of its level, it is passable. It will not cause you much trouble, and will not make you regret choosing this particular branch of research, and besides, both a beginner and even an experienced player can easily cope with it. The main thing is to approach the choice of positions wisely, evaluate your abilities, and do not forget about the advantages and disadvantages of the car.
