This time the distance was much longer - 10 km, 12 obstacles, and the tests were more difficult. The participants again met with the tires from the tractor (the weight of the tire was 280 kg), which they “loved” during one of the last races, again did burpees, stood in the plank, squatted, pulled themselves up and walked “like a bear”. A new test was the "hand walk", when each member of the team had to overcome high and then low bars on their hands, as well as the "caterpillar", when the whole team had to move inside a plastic tape.

It is worth noting that the track was not only difficult, but also beautiful. Perhaps it was the picturesque views and vast expanses of Kolomenskoye that motivated the organizers to make the distance so long. Sea of ​​tulips and blooming lilac, green lawns and endless alleys, ponds and streams - all this has become a bright entourage of the "Become Human 5" race.

The event turned out to be unique. The best of the "Become Human" series in which I took part. First, it was the day when the sun and the downpour, the heat and the piercing wind came together. Secondly, the venue. Everyone loves Kolomenskoye Park, and for good reason. For me, it opened up in a whole new way. The race along the embankment in front of the surprised walking families and couples, who immediately began to cheer the team. Exercises on green meadows, with a stunning view of the palace of Alexei Mikhailovich and the Moscow River. This is my fourth time participating in the "Become a Human" race and I can say with confidence that the competition in Kolomenskoye has become the most difficult and memorable for me. I was very pleased with the picturesque route - the river, green trees, architectural monuments. This time there were more tests, instead of the traditional ten there were 12. The distance also increased and reached seven kilometers. The most difficult task for me was the team lifting of a 280-kilogram rubber tire.

It is almost impossible to find information about what awaits the participants at the distance, so each new test becomes a pleasant (or not always) surprise for the team. 1. Steps

The very first test, to which we came still cheerful, clean and in a great mood, turned out to be "Steps". If you state its essence in a few sentences, then four members of the team had to imitate a suspended ladder, and the other member to walk along it. To be honest, I personally liked the test, because I was the sixth person in the team who simply followed the process (if only there were more such stages, but closer to the finish line).


What is the difficulty? Four members of the team hold boards that a person steps on with all their weight - everything is simple here, the main task is to keep them. The better the coordination and ability to group the walker, the easier it is for the rest.

life hack: in general, if you are reading this article while on an obstacle course (which is very unlikely), then our advice will not help you. But if you're still training for your first cross-country fitness run, be smart about team building. The rules themselves assume different compositions: 2 women and 4 men, 3 women and 3 men, 4 women and 2 men. To pass this stage, it is optimal to have 4 men in the team (who hold the boards) and 2 girls (one of which moves up the stairs, and the other helps her keep her balance). In general, this is one of the most optimal layouts: such a composition is convenient when going through not only this stage.

2. Confidence ball

Not surprisingly, all team members liked this test without exception. The stage itself looked like this: the team stands in a chain, a large inflatable ball is clamped between each pair of people, and the column in this state must overcome about 25 meters, turn around at the desired point and come back.

What is the difficulty? If the team starts moving at different speeds and loses the overall pace, then the balls will start to fall to the ground, which means that the test will have to be completed again.

life hack: Using our ideal line-up (2 girls and 4 men), we distributed ourselves so that our men were inside, and the girls opened and closed the column. The main task was facing the trailer: he had to “pressure” on everyone else, and when the first in the column felt a push from behind, he began to slowly move forward. This tactic allowed us to overcome this stage without difficulty and penalty time.

3. Rope jumping

As you already understood, most of the exercises performed during the race are aimed at the well-coordinated work of the team. The goal of the next test was to go a short distance, jumping over tight ropes, and then come back and repeat the same thing - that is, perform two approaches.


What is the difficulty? All team members must jump in sync, take off and land exclusively on two feet, otherwise the jump will not be counted.

life hack: Do not jump too high, this will reduce the load on the knees and legs in general, count out loud, all together, in order to jump in sync and not redo the jump.

4. Water carriers

It would seem that it is difficult: you take yourself an inflatable flask with water and carry it forward. Things got more complicated when we learned that each step forward is not just a step, but a lunge that is performed alternately on each leg from a standing position.


What is the difficulty? Mandatory condition: the knee during the lunge must necessarily touch the ground. And the water in the flask constantly overflows from one side to the other, causing some problems related to balance and coordination. While one participant passes the stage, one does not get bored: the whole team is on the bar.

life hack: Be patient, keep your back straight and look exclusively forward. We agree that the life hack did not work here, but we did not adhere to any specific tactics during the passage of this stage.

5. Cross country running

And again we go against the rules! Yes, this is not a stage, but in preparation it is very important to focus on this point. At the beginning of the competition, each team receives a rope and runs all 7 kilometers in one bundle.
What is the difficulty? Guessing a comfortable pace is not immediately possible, so for some participants it is much harder to run at the beginning than for others. And as soon as it seems to you that the ideal pace has been found and guessed ... you start to get tired, which means that the speed should change again. The second indisputable disadvantage is that, holding on to the rope, you exclude one hand from the running process - because of the unusualness, this can significantly complicate the passage of the distance.

life hack: Find a rope and incorporate team running into your pre-race training - this will help you feel each other's pace and greatly reduce the possibility of injury on the course.
