Tourism and rest

Holidays in Tenerife are interesting at any time of the year. But still, in the high season, many sophisticated tourists try not to come here. Many tourists, crowded beaches and high prices are not to everyone's liking. There are many reasons to choose a holiday in Tenerife in June.

First, of course, low prices. After the tourist peak, some hotels close, while others significantly reduce the cost of their services so as not to operate at a loss. Tours in June in Tenerife - great choice for those who like to save money.

Hotels in Tenerife are of high quality, there are representatives of well-known lines. In hotels, sometimes there are animators with a program for kids and those who are older.

Secondly, a pleasant atmosphere of relaxation. There are no restless crowds of tourists, no queues for attractions, the streets are almost empty - you can relax and spend your vacation in almost complete seclusion.

Thirdly, entertainment. Rare resorts in the off-season completely "die out", they become centers of cultural life. Tenerife in June is no exception. Various festivals, concerts, exhibitions are held. Museums and attractions also work on schedule. A tour to Tenerife in June will especially appeal to families with children.

If you like warm, moderately hot weather and prefer the Canary Islands, then you should spend your vacation in June in Tenerife. Comfortable air temperature, invigorating ocean, healing volcanic sand of the beaches and softening the emerging heat wind are the main advantages of relaxing on the island. Not too comfortable swimming in the cool ocean, the resort compensates with beautiful views and a developed entertainment industry. In June, Tenerife conquered fans of outdoor activities with the opportunity to glide on the waves, honing their skills.

In June, light rainfall can occur in the north of the island, but this part of the island is unpopular with tourists. In June, it is better to relax in the southern resorts of Tenerife (Costa Adeje, Playa de Americas and Los Cristianos).

The ocean is still cool, but swimming is quite possible. It will warm up to its maximum + 25 ° only by August, so you should not be particularly upset. Therefore, +21º is not such a big miss because of which it is worth worrying about. Whoever thinks this water is cold can swim in the hotel pools. There is enough sun and heat for everyone here.

Rains in the southern part of the island are practically excluded, but cloudiness is quite likely. But be careful. You can get sunburned by the Tenerife sun even in cloudy weather!

In June, Tenerife is quite windy, so it seems that it is cooler here than it really is. For lovers beach holiday such weather may not be to your liking, but for those who like to spend their holidays actively, the conditions are ideal. In June, there is something to do on the island:

  • walk through the gorges (and)
  • climb
  • visit a killer whale show
  • break away to the fullest
  • or organize an individual sightseeing tour around the island

Resort weather

June spoils vacationers warm weather. Even enough heat the air here does not feel like heat because of the light breezes. The north and east of the island are traditionally cooler due to the winds coming from the ocean (Puerto de la Cruz), and the resorts south of them are closed by the mountain range of the central part of the island.

The ocean in June off the coast of Tenerife is not very suitable for swimming. The cool temperature rises slightly towards the end of the month, but you can’t count on warm water in the month of June, because. firstly, it is the ocean, and secondly, summer is just beginning in June.

  • Water temperature: +20˚С… +21˚С

Tour cost

The tourist season in Tenerife lasts almost the entire year, but the preferred time to arrive here is from May to November. And although before high season(September) there is still time, in June the island is a fairly popular destination, so it makes sense to book tours in this direction in advance.

Despite the fact that Tenerife is warm all year round during the summer months, there are much more tourists on the island. And no wonder, because in summer the probability of good weather increases many times over! Let's see what we can expect from the weather in June.

But even if the temperature rises above 30 ° C, from the intense heat, off the coast of the ocean, the constantly chewing breeze will always save. The average indicator of which in June is 6.3 m/s.

When going to, do not forget to bring a jacket with you, as the air temperature at the top is somewhat different from the coastal zone. As on any hill, there is constantly blowing strong winds, and the thermometer stays at lower levels. At the top of the Teide, it is always quite cool whenever you go there.

Weather in Tenerife last June:

June. With my family

Spain, Tenerife island

Rested in Tenerife with my wife in June this year. Impressions can be said to be fresh. Relaxed just superbly! Our guide played a big role in our impressions about this resort. He is a very good specialist in his profession. Immediately wine, that a person is simply given. Visiting excursions was not just interesting entertainment, but an exciting adventure.

So, everything is in order. The first excursion, so to speak, a trial, we took a catamaran ride. Wearing a wetsuit and scuba gear, we swam with dolphins, my heart sank into my heels when hefty whales swam a meter away from me. The tour includes lunch and unlimited drinks. The second in line to visit was Loro Park, we spent almost seven hours there, there were a lot of impressions, but we did not have time to see everything. I really liked walking along the glass tunnel of the aquarium, you see sharks and rays swimming above you.

The next day we went to El Teide and Las Cañadas. We climbed the crater of the volcano. We visited the village of Mask, which was once a pirate village. The place is very picturesque! Further End of the World and Los Gigantes. The camera ate batteries, the pictures accumulated.

We visited Lanzarote, the island of dormant volcanoes. We saw the main attraction - the Cueva de los Verdos cave, the largest lava cave in the world. The tour is very interesting, the volcanic landscape is very different from Teide, completely different impressions. I recommend!

June. With my family

Spain, Tenerife island

I was in Tenerife with my husband in June of this year. Personally, in my opinion, the resort is clearly for discerning tourists. We were in the south of Tenerife, where it is warm and there are a huge number of hotels. It was with great pleasure that we walked along the promenade, stopping at local restaurants for coffee or a bite to eat.

The island of Tenerife itself is of volcanic origin, as evidenced by the black sand on the beach and a large number of volcanoes, some of which are no longer active, but there is also the well-known Teide, which may wake up in the near future. A large number of visitors rise to it to take a closer look. When you climb high into the mountains, the clouds are below, a spectacle, amazing! On the excursion itself, we took warm clothes with us, as it was very cold at the height. Thanks to our guide for the warning.

Another wonderful place in Tenerife, which we visited - this is the entertainment Loro Park. It is made in Asian style. In it you can see different types animals. On the territory of the park there are shows of fur seals, killer whales and various birds, parrots. The park is very beautiful, there is where to take some beautiful shots on the camera.

My opinion is that this is a resort for a calm and measured rest, with beautiful natural landscapes. There are very few young people here, there are almost no entertainment in the form of nightclubs.

Spring never leaves the Canary Islands - winter cools the air on the islands to only +16 degrees, and summer is never hotter than +32. The mild climate attracts 8 million tourists from Europe every year. In June, the flow of tourists to Tenerife revives, because the first summer month warms the ocean off the coast to a temperature comfortable for swimming.

Spain is proud of its seventeenth province, its "pearl" - Tenerife. On the largest island of the Canary archipelago, magnificent hotels, good and varied cuisine, warm ocean, gentle sun and surprisingly friendly islanders. Everything here is the best and most expensive. To find out what is real resort comfort, buy a ticket without waiting for seasonal discounts and "hot tours". The season in the Canary Islands never ends, and prices in December and June are practically the same. A seven-day tour to Tenerife in June will cost no less than €1,000 for two without food, and an all-inclusive package will cost twice as much, but this is the price of a truly good holiday.

Climate and June weather in Tenerife

The famous Norwegian Thor Heyerdahl spent the last 10 years of his life on the island of Tenerife. The master of travel has seen the world, so his taste can be trusted. The researcher was attracted by the land, which he considered the remains of Atlantis, but we think favorable climate the islands played an important role in choosing a haven. Christopher Columbus, making sea trips, each time stopped in the Canary Islands. True, the navigator did not have to discover the archipelago - he was known for a long time. The ancient Greeks already had time to appreciate the goodness of these lands and called them happy islands.

Live in the atmosphere eternal spring very nice, you will understand this when you are in Tenerife in June. The words "warm temperate climate" in the Canary Islands take on real and tangible features. It is warm here in January, June and October, however, in July and August it is a little hot, but it is not felt at all on the ocean.

Tenerife is not that big, but its climate is different in the north and south. The north is surrounded by greenery all year round, it is always cooler here than on the south coast. In the south of the island, the air is drier, warmer and the temperature of the water in the ocean is always a few degrees higher. Hot winds from Africa cool down to quite pleasant heat when they reach the island, and the Gulf Stream warms the ocean all year round. This combination makes the climate unique - a constant temperature of water and air, which almost does not change throughout the year.

If you are planning summer rest, try to get to the Canary Islands at the beginning of summer, because the weather in Tenerife in June is especially good. The ocean warms up to 20-24 ° C, and the air - up to + 25-27 ° C, rains are rare and pass quickly. Canarians say they don't have rainy days, but several times a year it's raining. Evenings and nights are still cool - about +20°C, but this is a pleasant summer freshness.

Tenerife weather forecast for June 2019.

In June, many people of respectable age arrive in the north of Tenerife, who prefer relaxation and peace, and the south coast is ideal for a beach holiday.

Excursions

The impressions of the trip will be incomplete without excursions. And tourists are increasingly booking excursions via the Internet. This is more convenient for several reasons. Can:

  • take your time to read the description and reviews and choose what you like;
  • do not fuss and do not waste precious time on the island searching and buying excursions;
  • buy in advance from home, and pay by card;
  • the choice online is greater than in any agency, and the prices are 15-20% lower, because no agency fee.

The most popular excursions in Tenerife in 2019:

  • - 6 hours, € 132
    for 1-3 people or €42 per person if there are more of you
  • - 7 hours, € 144
    for 1-2 people or €54 per person if there are more of you;
  • - 8 hours, € 180
    for 1-3 people or €60 per person if there are more of you;
  • - 6 hours, € 120
    for 1-2 people or €60 per person if there are more of you;
  • - 9 hours, 106 €.

Beach holidays in June

Of course, in the Mediterranean resorts the sea is warmer. The ocean never warms up to the state of fresh milk. For adults who feel confident on the water, the conditions for swimming are ideal, but for a beach holiday with children, it is better to choose the time in July-September or swim in the hotel pool. At the end of June water warms up to 22-23°C, but in the first days of the month the ocean is cool. Choose a beach with breakwaters if you want to swim every day without waiting for the calm.

The peculiarity of the local beaches - black dense volcanic sand. There are beaches with the usual light sand, but if you stop at the "black beach", get ready for the fact that swimwear and swimming trunks will have to be thrown away at the end of the vacation.

There is no "dead" season in Tenerife, but the peak season will come later. The June vacation differs from the August one only by the incomplete activity of animators and other beach “getters” offering braiding, photo services, acquaintance with hand parrots and monkeys and other traditional joys.

Diving in Tenerife

The ocean near the island is a real paradise for divers. AT coastal waters there are no predators, and you can’t take your eyes off the underwater inhabitants and vegetation. Tenerife diving is ideal for beginners: schools, clubs and private instructors will introduce you to the rules, teach you how to use the equipment and help you master the basic skills. You will get everything you need for rent at the diving center, and the instructor will be competent and attentive.

flickr.com/philippeguillaume

The underwater landscapes of Tenerife are unique. The island is of volcanic origin, so instead of the usual corals and reefs, you you can explore grottoes, caves and rocks. Under water, you will meet flocks of pilot whales, turtles, dolphins and even stingrays. There is an opportunity to go spearfishing.

30 sites on the south coast are suitable for diving, where the water is warmer and calmer. Usually groups of several people gather for diving and go out to sea by boat. If you are a beginner and you need an instructor who knows Russian, the dive will cost €55. Those with diving experience will pay 30-50 €. This amount includes insurance, equipment and delivery to the diving site.

The island has been chosen by surfers since the sixties of the last century. Many beaches operate surf schools that provide equipment for rent. Experienced surfers know how to communicate with signs, but if you need lessons, you will find an instructor who speaks English, Spanish or Russian. Two hours of group lessons cost €35, private lessons are twice as expensive.

The cultural program

We haven't heard a single one negative feedback about holidays in Tenerife. Perhaps this island, especially its north, is not very suitable for lovers of drive and wild entertainment, but for those who need to relieve stress and forget about the fuss, the place is perfect. The English, who have long chosen these places, bask on the beach like pale fur seals, and look completely happy. For us, such a vacation seems too monotonous - time can be spent much more interesting and meaningful.

Consider renting a car, it is convenient and inexpensive, the roads on the island are excellent, and gasoline is cheaper than in Europe.

flickr.com/klimenko

Renting a car costs about €20-25 per day, but take care of the rental in advance and order a few weeks in advance.

There is a lot to see on the island. Tenerife is crowned by the summit of the Teide volcano. Snow on the mountain lies even in summer, to the delight of the Spaniards, who climb the volcano only to take pictures in a snowdrift. You will not surprise our tourist with snow, but many conquer the peak in order to experience the joy of victory over themselves and make photo on the background of alien landscapes. Take a jacket or jumper with you, change from shorts to trousers and put on sneakers to keep warm. Now the volcano is sleeping and until the next awakening, according to scientists, at least a hundred years. Just do not try to grab a pebble as a keepsake - it is radioactive and will squeak at the airport.

Loro Parque is an absolutely amazing place that you should definitely visit. The man who arranged the wonderful park once dreamed of a parrot and received it as a gift. After 60 years, he bought many new parrots, added a few dozen penguins, flamingo fur seals, tigers, dolphins, chimpanzees, gorillas, and placed all this cheerful company in a tropical garden with Thai motifs. There is no end to those who want to look at all these birds and animals: a parrot show, performances of dolphins, killer whales and seals.

flickr.com/andygr42

The penguinarium is the largest in Europe, here the penguins are specially blown with an icy wind and sprinkled with snow, and they feel like they are in their native Antarctica. Don't forget your raincoat if you're going to the killer whale show, and make sure your shoes are comfortable - you'll be in the park all day and you'll want to stay here for another week.

If you stay on the island until the end of June, you can have fun at the favorite holiday of the Canarians. On the night of June 23-24, 2019, the islanders will celebrate San Juan, in our opinion - Ivan Kupala. There will be fireworks, bonfires, round dances and songs with dances.

How to have time to get to know the magical island better and visit the most interesting places? Read the guide to, which will help you make a walking route and not miss anything important.

Food and shopping

According to reviews, the food is wonderful in all hotels, but if you want to treat yourself to something special or national, go to a restaurant or cafe, which are apparently invisible here. The food on the island is inexpensive, and the portions are large, often one is enough for two. The average price of a meal in a restaurant is €5. In June, there are many local fruits on the island, very good peaches, melons, cherries and watermelons. At local restaurants delicious seafood - try it!

flickr.com/dos82

There are also many shops selling clothes, perfumes and souvenirs, and they are also inexpensive. T-shirts, swimwear, beach towels can be bought on the spot, the average price for such little things is €2-3, the price of jeans is about €10. Very cheap cosmetics and perfumes. In June, the demand for sunscreen and sunscreen products rises - they are quite expensive: from €12. When shopping, do not forget about the possible excess of luggage at the airport (you will most likely fly through), because not everyone can stop on time in Tenerife. But be sure to bring palm honey with you. Each spoonful of it at home will remind you of carefree days on the island of eternal spring.
