Spain is a fantastic country that perfectly combines mountains, sea, nature and architecture, cheerful bright holidays and strange traditions. This country is ready to receive tourists all year round, and all thanks to its mild climate. The climate in the country is subtropical, winters in all regions are warm, dry, and summers are hot. The weather is influenced by the Gulf Stream, which brings winter warm winds and coolness and light breeze in summer. The average temperature in all regions is +15-20. In the north, the average January temperatures are +10-12, July +18, in the south the mark rarely shows less than +15 degrees Celsius (°С) * all year round.

Climate conditions in different parts of Spain

Spain is located on the Iberian Peninsula, in general, the country can be conditionally divided into three climatic zones:

  • Center.
  • North.
  • Southeast.

North

It is characterized by mild winters, and summers are cool, with occasional rains. The regions in the center of the country are practically not affected by the sea and currents; their own climate is formed there. The temperature in summer is lower, and winters are often colder, temperatures can drop to +5 degrees, sub-zero temperatures are extremely rare. The mountainous regions of the country boast cool summers and snowy winter, this area has perfectly adapted to such conditions, so ski resorts are popular here.

Note! Many believe that this is a separate city or beach, in fact, such cities belong to the Costa Brava: Blanes, Tossa de Mar and Lloret de Mar. They are not very big, but cozy enough for travelers.

Forecast for September 2018

Before heading to the Costa Brava, it is worth reading these recommendations:

  • It is better to exchange currency in Russia or at a local bank, the rate is higher at the airport, but it must be taken into account that banks are open only until 16-17 in the evening, and there is also a lunch break.
  • At night, it is better to walk only in the center, as troubles can happen on the outskirts, thieves and pickpockets are also operating in cities.
  • Temples and cathedrals are only accessible to people with their hands and feet covered, so dress accordingly.
  • It is worth studying the prohibitions and fines in advance, for example, smoking is only allowed in special areas, and many beaches are not allowed with pets.
  • Tipping in Spain is welcome, it is advisable to leave 10% in restaurants, but this is at the request of the tourist.
  • Calling to another country or city is more profitable from street booths, even in hotels this service may be paid. Cabins can be found by bright colors, they work on cards that they sell at newspaper or tobacco kiosks.
  • In Spanish cities, there are almost no public toilets anywhere, but tourists can try to find this room in bars and restaurants, but if there are few visitors, then for decency it is better to order something first.

This coast of Spain is famous for its combination of nature and architecture, so lovers of beauty tend to come here. In small towns, a tourist can try real Spanish cuisine.

Note! Not far from the Costa Brava is Barcelona, where Gaudí's masterpieces amaze tourists, and there is a special atmosphere of constant celebration.

A tourist can bring wine, castanets, jamon or sweets from his trip.

There are many all-inclusive hotels on the coast, which is unusual for Europe, and often Russian tour operators offer cheap tours exactly here, to mediterranean sea. The traveler may prefer resorts:

  • Palamos (Palamos);
  • Playa de Aro (Platja D'Aro);
  • Tossa de Mar;
  • Lloret de Mar;
  • Blanes.

The resort of Lloret de Mar is considered to be youthful, and Tossa de Mar is considered the calmest. But all resorts have a developed infrastructure, clean beaches, cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, so the tourist will not be bored.

Many cities have their own sights, for example, ancient churches, ruins, medieval castles, the tourist will find any entertainment for every taste!

I wanted the best ... I got out to the Costa Brava a bit late. The resort town can no longer boast warm sea, and there is no heat at this time. For a beach pastime, it is worth going here in August or at the beginning of the month.

How warm is the Costa Brava in mid-September

I fell into the period velvet season when there is already no heat and the weather can present an unexpected surprise in the form of cold snap, cloudiness or precipitation at any moment. Upon arrival, the resort met with moderate heat up to +24 degrees, light breeze and cloudiness. For excursion programs, of course, ideal. But I went for beach relaxation! No, lying on the beach was not very successful. I was driven away either by the wind from the sea, or by clouds ... I plunged into the sea, purely out of decency. The water has already cooled down, +21. And getting out of it is even colder. Evenings are cool here. So you don’t need to count on walking in summer clothes. The temperature dropped to +18. Daylight hours are 12 hours.

Costa Brava or Kemer: where is it better to relax in early autumn

In September, for a beach siesta, it is definitely better to fly to Kemer. Evenings and nights are approximately the same in terms of temperature. But the daytime picture is different (up to +31 in the daytime). Yes, and sea water in Kemer is warmer (+28). The Turkish coast pleases with stable heat and lack of precipitation.

Seasonal fruits: what to try on a trip

I was surprised when I found out that the time for watermelons had come to an end... But on the other hand, the novelty of the season appears on the shelves - Spanish persimmon. In addition, the store shelves are littered with:

  • pears;
  • plums;
  • figs;
  • apples;
  • lemons;
  • melons;
  • watermelons;
  • peaches.

I especially liked the pears and melons. The fruits were all sweet and juicy.

Of course, I found something to do here. But since I dreamed of a passive holiday, the resort did not live up to my expectations.
