What could be better than spending the evening with a cup of tea with a piece of aromatic and tender manna! And if it’s not just a semolina, but a semolina with bananas, then it’s absolutely wonderful! You will definitely surprise your family and guests with the new taste of this well-known pie!

Ask any housewife what she likes to cook for tea? Of course, it will be a mannik. And all because the recipe for manna with kefir is very simple and quick, and it is prepared without adding flour, which is why many housewives like it. If you add banana to everyone’s usual pie, then in combination with vanilla it will give such an aroma during baking that everyone’s mouth will water.

Even children really love kefir-based semolina with bananas, whereas they usually can’t stand plain semolina. Be sure to try it, I have no doubt that you will be satisfied! Personally, I prefer to bake manna from kefir; thanks to it, the dough turns out more airy.

Ingredients

  • Semolina - 250 gr.
  • Banana - 2 pcs.
  • Kefir - 0.5 l
  • Eggs - 2 pcs.
  • Sugar - 100-150 gr.
  • Vanillin – 1 sachet
  • Butter - 50 gr.
  • Flour - 150 gr.
  • Soda - 0.5 tsp.

Instructions

  1. In a separate bowl, mix semolina and kefir. Mix the contents thoroughly with a fork and put in the refrigerator for 40-50 minutes. This is done so that the semolina swells.

  2. In another bowl, mix chicken eggs, sugar and vanillin with a mixer. If desired, you can replace vanillin with vanilla sugar.

  3. Finely chop the banana and add to the eggs. Beat everything with a mixer.

  4. Take the swollen semolina from the refrigerator and mix it with the egg-banana mixture. Add softened butter and beat again. You will get this mass.

  5. Lastly, add the flour and baking soda (no need to dissolve the soda). You should get a dough with a consistency similar to thick sour cream.

  6. I also left a little dough (5 tsp) for decoration - I mixed it with cocoa. With this test we will draw patterns on top of the manna.

  7. Grease a baking tray with vegetable oil and pour our dough into it. Now let's start with the pattern - use a teaspoon to place the chocolate dough on top of the pie and use it to draw flowers, stars, etc.

  8. Bake manna on kefir with bananas in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes, until the pie is browned. We check the readiness with a toothpick - pierce the pie with it, if the toothpick is dry, then the pie is ready.

    This is such a beauty!

And orange; apricot, cherry, raisin!.. Semolina dough, crumbly and tasty, so friendly to ingredients - whatever you add to it, everything is delicious! Well, except for the nuts and bolts, of course. 😀 What if you try manna with banana?... Exactly! And this option is very tasty!

The first time I only put a piece of banana into the dough, about a third - we ate the rest just like that. And this piece gave the manna such a delicious banana aroma, it turned out to be such a delicious pie that the next day, at the request of the workers, that is, household members, the banana mannik was performed for an encore! It's so yellow because I added a little corn semolina - it's small, fine, not grain, but not yet flour.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semolina and 1 cup flour (variations: 1.5 cups semolina + 0.5 cups flour; or 2 cups semolina);
  • 1 glass of kefir;
  • 1 glass of sugar (partial if possible);
  • 100 g butter;
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda, level with the edges;
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice;
  • 1 banana;
  • Optional chocolate chips.
  • A 200-gram glass contains 200 g of sugar and 130 g of flour.

How to bake:

Pour the semolina into a bowl and pour in kefir. Let it sit for half an hour so that the kefir is absorbed.

Melt the butter and let it cool slightly until warm.

Then add sugar and warm melted butter and mix.

Sift flour into the dough, add soda, quench with vinegar or lemon juice and mix well again.

Cut the banana into pieces into the dough, you can also crumble a piece of chocolate. Mix and the dough is ready!

Place the dough in a mold greased with butter and sprinkled with semolina.

Bake the manna at 180C for about 30-35 minutes, until it becomes dry inside (test with a wooden skewer) and golden brown on top (and this is immediately visible).

We take the manna out of the oven, let it cool a little in the pan, because when hot it is very tiny, and then shake it out onto a dish.

We cut the banana manna into portions with a sharp knife, since the dough is very crumbly.

In our version, you don't even need eggs. We suggest following the recipe for manna with banana as a filling.

How to cook manna on kefir with banana - recipe with photos step by step

Prepare the ingredients for the dish.

Actually, we start cooking with semolina. Having measured out the required amount, we take the dishes deeper, and there we mix semolina with kefir. In order to soak the semolina, leave the mixture for about an hour at room temperature. Kefir, preferably, should also be warm when we use it for the dough.

It is more convenient for subsequent actions with the ingredients to add not the entire portion of kefir, but only 250 ml. The fact is that semolina actively absorbs liquid, and in order to avoid too thick dough, then, after the allotted hour, you can pour in the rest of the fermented milk product.

Dry products, namely: sugar, flour, soda, necessary for the airiness of the dish, are mixed separately.

The butter should be soft when we add it to the dough. Therefore, either leave it on the table, or put it in the microwave or on gas so that it melts. After this, cool the oil a little.

Now mix everything together: semolina with kefir, flour with sugar, and butter.

We remember that we still need to prepare the bananas. We peel them and cut them into not too thin circles.

Select a baking dish and grease its bottom and sides with oil. It is also better to use parchment paper.

We spread the dough in several layers: part of the dough, then banana pieces, again the dough and the remaining banana. Place in a preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, 200 degrees.

So the manna with banana and kefir has been prepared! We take it out and let it cool before removing it from the dish. The golden crust shows that it is baked. It is also recommended to pierce it with a toothpick in several places: if the dough does not remain on it, then it is cooked perfectly.

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of our manna with banana without eggs, and you can sit down at the table. Bon appetit!
