PENGUINS

“When we have, at the top of the Earth, winter begins, at the bottom of the Earth, in Antarctica, summer begins. At this time, flocks of penguins swim from the ocean islands to its icy shores. Their path is long and dangerous. The storm will break out, then the sharks will attack.

But it happens well when the penguins swim to the place. In white shirts and dark trousers, in black jackets, they walk in crowds along sparkling ice, through the sparkling snow ... ”- this is how the movie fairy tale begins about Pin-Gwin and Pyn-Gvyn, about two polar birds.

In Antarctica, Pin-Gwin and Pyn-Gwyn laid an egg each and began to warm them so that the chicks hatched.

One day, Pin-Gwin got hungry and asked a neighbor to look after an egg, while he went into the ocean for fish - for himself and his neighbor.

Clumsy Pyn-Gvyn guarded the egg and fell asleep. And in a dream, he accidentally pushed an egg. And it rolled and fell into a crack and broke there.

Pyn-Gvyn was frightened. He was afraid to tell the truth. He found a stone that looked like an egg and gave it to Pin-Gwin.

Soon the penguins hatched chicks. Everyone rejoiced. They congratulated each other on their newborns.

For little penguins, adult birds arranged all sorts of entertainment, rolled them down an ice slide.

Only Pin-Gwin did not hatch a chick. “What a stubborn one,” thought Pin-Gwin, “he doesn’t want to come out of the shell. Well, nothing, let him sit still in the egg, if he likes it so much. And when there was no one on the hill, Pin-Gwin arranged a ride for his future little penguin.

The penguin was taught to swim, dive, and fish.

Pin-Gwin also came to the ocean.

Can you hear that constant noise? he asked his stone. - It's the sound of the ocean. He's not solid. If you stand on it, you will fall through and you will fall from white to green, to the fish. Fish, like narrow ice floes, just as shiny ...

... And there are whales! They look like black rocks. A fountain beats out of their heads - a huge feather from the water, - Pin-Gwin explained to the stone.

One day, two birds approached Pin-Gwin and expressed their doubts: did he have a stone instead of an egg? Ah, how angry Pin-Gwin is! He drove the impudent people away and for a long time shouted insulting curses after them.

And how happy Pin-Gwin was when he heard the knock in the egg. Knock... knock... knock... The heart of the bird was filled with happiness.

But it wasn't in the egg. This warmed the sun, and cold drops fell to the ground from the tip of a large icicle.

Meanwhile, the penguins grew up. They could no longer be distinguished from adult birds. One day, the penguins set off on their way back to the islands. It was impossible to stay longer in Antarctica, harsh winter with frost and blizzards.

Only one dark dot was visible on the shore - it was Pin-Gwin's black jacket. To stay here, he thought, is to freeze the little penguin for sure. I will swim too.

This is the only salvation for him. It's a pity that he still hasn't hatched…”

Pin-Gwin was already far from the coast when his forces began to leave him. He realized that he would never see ice or sun again. He would have lived for many more years if he had released the stone. But after all, Pin-Gwin was sure that he had not a stone, but an egg with a tiny penguin, not yet born, but loved endlessly.

The water that surrounded Pin-Gwin grew darker and darker, as if blackness was being added to the water. But no one added blackness - just Pin-Gwin sank deeper and deeper.

Pin-Gwin would still be alive if Pin-Gwin told him the truth!

The book was prepared based on the cartoon of the same name, created at the Soyuzmultfilm film studio. Directed by V. Polovnikov. Moscow, 1971

Far, far away, somewhere near Antarctica, on a huge ice floe that broke away from its ice shell, there lived penguins. More precisely, two types of penguins lived there - the first and second. Outwardly they did not differ from each other, but inside they were completely different. The former believed in the coming of Ping, while the latter did not. They cleaned their ice floe, protected it from birds of prey and lived for themselves without any concept of penguin shrines. But the first ones are completely different. Their main advantage was - Knowledge. They followed their leaders in single file, who gave them this Knowledge - knowledge about everything. The fact that their ice floe is the most important ice floe in the entire ocean, and therefore they are the most important penguins in the world. That the sun revolves around their ice floe, and Ping arranged all this.

From time to time the sun would disappear for a long time. The second penguins called it the polar night, but this is from ignorance. And the truth is that Ping was angry with them for something and deprived them of the sun. To appease him, all the penguins had to think about Ping every day and pray to him. And if someone did not pray, then everyone was to blame. And it turned out that the former suffered because of the latter. Then the first began to think how they could correct this injustice. And they came up with, but how cleverly!

From now on, they decided, a penguin who does not pray to Ping is not considered a penguin. And the main law on the ice floe will be the law on the veneration of Ping. According to this law, penguins must pray to Ping five times a day, and the remaining time between prayers should think about him. And most importantly, prayers to Ping and thoughts about him replace all other things. In addition to this basic law, they came up with several more important rules, like, with which paw to get up in the morning, what kind of fish to eat, and which end to put it in the beak. You may ask, where does the fish come from under such laws? And from the second. They were told that they must fish for everyone, otherwise no one here will tolerate them, fake ones. And even if they feed the first, serve and protect them, they still will not be full-fledged inhabitants of the ice floe.
- So ordered Ping, - said the first, - and there is nothing to argue about.
- Oh-vey, - the second ones were upset, - it is clear that we are really not real, since they say so.
And they didn't argue. And so they lived.

One day a terrible storm broke out. The sky darkened. Huge waves rolled onto the ice floe, washing the penguins into the sea indiscriminately, both the first and second. And then a gigantic wave came, which split the ice floe in two. When the storm finally subsided, the penguins began to return to the wreckage of the broken ice floe. They accelerated in the water, jumped onto the ice, dusted themselves off and gathered together to keep warm. And it is not surprising that the first penguins gathered on one half, and the second, which were no longer considered penguins, on the other half. The second caught fish, refreshed themselves and began to put their new territory in order. What about the first ones? At first they were delighted, because now there were no strangers on their ice floe - everyone was real penguins. And since everyone followed the rules, they hoped that Ping would be kind to them. And they began to pray to Ping and think of him. And they didn't catch fish. Firstly, it was against the law, and secondly, they had already forgotten how it was done.

So several days passed. The ocean was calm. The wind has died down. The sun gently warmed the penguins and they realized that they were doing everything right, and Ping loved them. And everything would be fine, if not for hunger. Adults steadfastly endured it, but with children it was different. It was becoming increasingly difficult to explain to them how important it was to continuously pray to Ping and think about him. Here and there whining was heard - I'm hungry, I want to eat, mom, give me a fish. The most unpleasant thing is that the second ice floe was carried not so far from the first, and the children could clearly see how those second ones live there, how they frolic in the water, catch fish, and how they eat it ...

The adults began to confer on how to save themselves from hunger and save their children, and at the same time, remain real penguins and not quarrel with Ping. We discussed for a long time, but could not reach an agreement. Some even offered to start catching fish, but the leaders immediately banned it. In the end, they decided to suggest to the second that they give them fish, and they will pray for them and ask Ping for a comfortable life for them. Yes, but nothing happened.
- Oh wow! - the second ones were surprised, - but we still live comfortably. Better yet, send your children to us, and we will teach them how to fish. They will feed you, and you pray for them, and everything will be just.
The first thought, and were about to agree, but their most important leader said:
- And what will our children grow up to be, because then they will not become real penguins.
And they returned to their ice floe without salty slurping.

But hunger is not an aunt. The very next day, the older children began to swim across to another ice floe and stayed on it - after all, life is more fun there, and there is always a fish. At night, they secretly swam up to the first ice floe, left some food for their relatives and returned back. The penguins, of course, understood where they got food in the morning and did not scold the children. Moreover, some of them themselves sent their other children after the first ones. And only the leaders remained adamant, they cursed those of their children who sailed to the second ice floe and forgot about them. In the depths of their hearts, they apparently hoped that Ping would come to their aid. They called it a test and called on all real penguins to pass this test.

It was not easy, because it was the third hungry week. A murmur began on the ice. A group of young penguins appeared and opposed the leaders. They demanded to change the rules of the basic law.
“Penguins,” they said, “must think not only about Ping, but also about themselves: defend themselves when they attack, and get food if they are hungry.
The majority supported them, and on the same day some of the penguins began to fish. They didn't catch much at first, but the hunger in their families stopped. Looking at them and the rest took over fishing. Now the penguins prayed only twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. But they were full and satisfied, especially since their children began to return to them.

But what about the leaders, did they pass the test? Did Ping help them in the end? Nobody knows. The fact is that in those latitudes it often storms. One of the powerful storms broke off a small fragment from their ice floe, no more than thirty penguin steps. The leaders gathered on it - none of the penguins, after the famine, wanted to live with them. And the current and the wind carried the small ice floe far, far away...

Well, well, may Ping be with them! Better yet, Ping with them! After all, fanatics, even if they are penguins, by and large are not needed by anyone.

Oh vey, Valery, your fairy tale, yes Ping in the ears. So that he whispers the end of this tale to the leaders during prayer. I doubt very much that it will help, because that's why they are fanatics, so as not to listen to anyone, but maybe at least they would believe Ping. Well, by the way, Ping is with them.
The tale is just wonderful, I liked it very much. I wish you good luck and not only in your work.

Once upon a time there was a little Penguin at the far North Pole. Like all penguins, he ate fish, went to Penguin School, slept at night in his house of ice. And everything would be fine, only the Penguin had one secret: he did not know how to swim. “Here's another,” you say, “So that the penguin could not swim? It's funny!" So our little Penguin was very afraid that someone would laugh when he found out his secret. Therefore, he did not tell anyone about it. When the little Penguin's friends went to the ocean to swim, they called him with them, but the little Penguin always found some excuses: either Mama Penguin needs to help sweep the house, then go to grandma and grandpa to visit, then do homework at school ... Tired of friends little Penguin that he denied every time, they stopped calling him with them. It became sad to live the little Penguin. But really, how can you live without friends? Who will cheer up or support you when you feel bad? And then the little Penguin decided to overcome his fear of the ocean and go to his friends. On that day, the ocean was completely restless: strong waves beat against the snow-white rocks, as if trying to jump ashore, and the water itself was so dark, as if someone had spilled ink into it. Little Penguin found his friends on the ocean shore: the guys were merrily splashing in the cold northern water. Seeing the little Penguin, they began to wave cheerfully to him. - Little Penguin, come to us! - Little Penguin, we have so much fun playing! - Well, what stood on the shore, climb into the water! She's remarkably cold today! Little Penguin uncertainly approached the very edge of the shore and touched dark water . "Brrr, she's just icy, you can't imagine better!" he thought. Little Penguin looked uncertainly at the roaring waves. How tempting they danced, jumping over each other, rushing to the shore... Little Penguin smiled, but immediately imagined how he dives into this dark water and cannot make a single movement... In fear, he backed away from the water under the questioning looks of his friends and rushed to run . The next day, little Penguin again decided to go to the ocean and play with friends, but the next day he did not succeed. On the third day, little Penguin came to the ocean shore. His friends were there. Seeing the little Penguin, they stopped playing and began to see if he would run away, like the last time. Dark waves still pounded monotonously against the snow-white rocks. Little Penguin was embarrassed by the looks of his friends, took in more air into his chest and jumped into the water. The water enveloped his body, and the little Penguin, having ceased to feel solid ground under his feet, was very frightened. He began to jerk his legs and arms, to raise spray around, just to find himself on the shore faster. Suddenly a big wave overtook him, picked him up and brought him to the shore. As soon as the little Penguin found himself on solid ground, he began to cry. Everything, now his friends, who saw him floundering in the water, will definitely not be friends with him. The penguin that can't swim! It's funny! “How I want to learn how to swim!” - thought the little Penguin in despair. Something soft landed on the tearful Penguin's head. He raised his head and saw Her Majesty the Starlet - the Queen of the Land of Desires. Her Majesty Starlet looked at him with her bright radiant eyes and smiled. “I heard your wish, little Penguin,” she said. - You will learn to swim... - But how? - the little Penguin was surprised. - Who will undertake to teach me? Her Majesty Starlet only smiled enigmatically and disappeared. At the same moment, friends jumped up to the little Penguin. - What happened? Why didn't you swim? - You didn't hit yourself, little Penguin? - Why are you crying? “I can’t swim,” said little Penguin sadly. That's why I didn't want to go swimming with you. I thought that you would laugh at me ... The friends laughed good-naturedly and hugged the little Penguin. - How naive you are, little Penguin! - We are your friends. We won't leave you. - If you had come to us immediately, we would have taught you to swim the same day! Little Penguin was delighted and hugged his friends. And how could he think that his friends would taunt him? They are true friends! On that day, the guys played in the cold dark waves until the evening. And when it was time to go to bed, little Penguin turned around to wish the ocean good night, and it seemed to him that somewhere far in the sky one small star rolled across the sky, leaving behind a long tail, and disappeared. “Her Majesty the Starlet flew to fulfill someone else's wish,” the little Penguin guessed and smiled, mentally thanking the Queen.

This tale is about a little penguin Gogosha and a bright star named Blestinka. Gogosha lived in the country of Penguinaria, and the star, as it should be, is in the sky. Penguin Gogosha wanted something to stand out from other penguins. But he didn't know how to do it. But in life there is always a place for a happy occasion ...

Bedtime story about a penguin and an asterisk

Once upon a time there was a little penguin. His name was Gogosha. He was the same as hundreds of other penguins living in the country of Penguinaria. He knew how to hide well from predators, swam well and deftly hunted in the vast blue ocean.

“It’s good to be like everyone else,” Gogosha’s penguin reasoned, “but still I want to be at least something different from others. For example, if I had my own small ship, I would ride my penguin friends on it.

Gogosha dreamed, and out of habit looked at the sky.

Oh, how many stars! he exclaimed. - I wish I could buy one, even the smallest star. After all, none of the penguins have stars. Then I would definitely be different from others.

Where do they buy stars? the penguin Gogosha asked himself.

And then he remembered what Aunt Tufa had said:

All purchases are made in the store.

“Tomorrow I will get the smallest star,” thought the penguin.

The next morning in the store, he carefully examined the goods. There were no stars for sale, but he still asked the seller:

- Hello, what is the price of the stars? I don't need a big one, just the smallest one.

The seller, the penguin Tikhokhod, was very surprised at what purchase Gogosha decided to make.

“There are no stars on sale,” said the penguin Slow-moving, “and I think you won’t find such goods in other stores either.”

Gogosha was upset. He so dreamed of an asterisk.

In the evening of the same day (or it seemed to him), one small star in the sky began to dance a merry dance. At the end of the dance, Gogosha clapped his hands happily.

The little star descended from the sky and said in excellent penguin language:

- I know everything. You wanted to buy a little star from the sky. Stars are not for sale. But do not worry, we will be friends with you. And see you again very soon.

- Blimey! said the happy penguin. “I won’t tell anyone about this friendship, only my mother.” This will be our little secret. And even if in the eyes of my friends I will be the same penguin as everyone else, but in fact, I am an unusual penguin, because I have a friend - an asterisk. Tell me star, what's your name?

- I'm the Star Glitter.

Glitter and penguin Gogosha became friends. By the way, since then the penguin began to sleep even more soundly. After all, his dream was guarded by a small star.

The old polar explorer is me. You probably thought that I was gray-haired and bearded? In fact, I'm still quite young. Just like your dad, for example. And I have neither gray hair nor beard. And they call me an old polar explorer because I have been working in the North for a long time, for many years ...
Now I will tell you one amazing story that happened here at the North Pole.
One day, our common favorite Teddy Bear decided to swim. Having reached the edge of the ice floe, he flopped into the icy water. And suddenly emerged from under it ... Who would you think? .. Penguin. Frightened, both stared at each other and began to quickly, quickly babble about something. About what? Not a single person in the world would have known about this if I had not been nearby.
- Are you someone like that? - asked, stuttering, Little Bear.
- I'm P-penguin ... - he squeaked, no less frightened. I'm from the Pole... - From the pole?! - the Little Bear was surprised, - But, except for us and the polar explorers, there is no one on the whole Pole!
- No, - objected Penguin, - except for us and the polar explorers, there is no one!
This already outraged Bear.
- Ah well?! Then tell me, what is this village?
- Polar explorers live there! - the Penguin was delighted. - Rightly so ... - Bear cub drawled in surprise. - Well, let's go there ...
- Let's go!
Frankly, I myself was surprised no less than Bear Cub. After all, penguins have never lived here, none of them have ever come here. How does this Little Penguin know about our polar station? Marvelous! Very amazing! And I quietly followed them ... They stopped near the meteorological booth.
- If you really are from the Pole, - Bear cub said importantly, then tell me what it is? - Of course, I'll tell you... It's... er... They measure the air temperature here.
The bear gave up.
- Yes... you know everything... But why have I never seen you here at the North Pole?
- Northern?! - The penguin even jumped up. - Southern! He is Southern!
- No, Severny, look...
Reading the inscription on the flag. The penguin was completely confused:
- Everything is clear ... So, again, I got to the wrong place. In the world, it turns out, not one, but two poles ... - It can't be! shouted Little Bear.
There are really not one, but two poles in the world: North and South. They are located very far from each other. Between them - seas, oceans, mountains, valleys, deserts, forests, snow, ice and many different countries. How did this small, weak little Penguin manage to get from one pole to another? ..
- You understand, - he began to explain to the Bear cub, I was born in Antarctica ...
- In Antarctica? And he said that in the South ...
- But that's what it is. South Pole. It is also always cold in Antarctica, ice is everywhere and polar explorers also live ...
- So, it turns out why you know about the polar station! - exclaimed the Little Bear. - Tell me more...
That's what happened. One day there was a terrible storm. Strong wind tossed Penguin up and threw him straight into the raging ocean. Fortunately, he managed to climb onto a small ice floe ...
For many days and nights the little penguin fought for his life. And when everything calmed down, he fell asleep ... The sun rose higher and higher, it became warmer, and the ice floe melted. But at that moment the Little Penguin saw a rocky island and immediately swam towards it.
When he was already on the island, a cry was heard in the sky. This proud Albatross, folding his wings, fell down like a stone.
- Well done, baby! - Albatross said solemnly, dropping onto the island. - I saw how bravely you swam. And my bird duty is to help you. - Please, - the Penguin pleaded, - help me return home, to the pole ...
The albatross flapped its wings.
Let's fly, baby!
- But I can't fly, - said Penguin. - How can you not? You're a bird!.. Wait, wait, somewhere I've already met a flightless bird. Remembered! Now I know where your home is! - And, having seated the Penguin on his back, the Albatross flew up into the blue heights. What a pity that no one stopped them then, did not shout: “Stop! You flew not to the Penguin's house, but to completely different, distant lands! Soon the Albatross solemnly proclaimed:
- Pole! - and landed on the edge of a dense swampy forest.
But Penguin only shook his head sadly in response ...
- And what's that? he asked, looking at the forest with curiosity.
- These are trees. Don't trees grow at the Pole? Albatross was surprised.
- Nothing grows at the pole. The penguin was languishing in the heat.
The Albatross was puzzled.
- But this is where the wingless bird lives... Ah, kiwi-kiwi! he called. - Kiwi-kiwi, ay!
In the distance, above the low grass, a long-billed sleepy head of a gray-brown Kiwi-kiwi appeared.
- Well, "Kiwi-kiwi"? Well, I'm Kiwi-Kiwi! - the bird said displeasedly. - Come, please, at night. And during the day you need to sleep ...
The Albatross and the Little Penguin, of course, did not know that the Kiwi-Kiwi is a nocturnal bird, that it spends the day in burrows under large snags. forest trees, and at night - looking for food: larvae, insects, berries, seeds and even small pebbles. He will pull the worms out of the ground, throw them up, catch them with his long beak and quickly swallow them. And if Kiwi-Kiwi is disturbed during the day, then he often yawns and at the same time spreads his jaws in a strange way.
- Will you stop yawning? the Albatross yelled at him. - Look better who I brought you!
- I see ... - Kiwi-kiwi answered, still not opening his eyes. - I don't know how to get back home, to Antarctica, - Penguin complained to him.
- In Aaa?.. A...a is located just across the sea. Of course, my bird duty ... - without finishing, Kiwi-kiwi fell asleep tightly.
The Albatross with the Penguin flew on. The kid was happy! This sea will end, and, as Kiwi-kiwi said, he will finally get to his home! The poor Penguin did not know that right now he was moving even further away from his home, from his native Antarctica ...
Suddenly, a lot of lights flashed on the horizon.
- The lights! cried the Penguin. - So, this is a polar station! Pole!..
Having descended on the roof of a large house, they began to look at the night street of an unfamiliar city. The little penguin barely uttered in a fallen voice:
- Albatross, and it's not a pole. I thought that people only live at the Pole ...
