Photo cartridge for a gas mask
Designed to complete civilian gas masks in order to expand the scope of gas masks:
– Civil gas mask GP-7
— Civilian gas mask GP-7V
— Civilian gas mask GP-7VM
Gas masks complete with a cartridge provide protection against highly toxic substances, mainly ammonia. It also increases the effectiveness of protection against dimethylamine, nitrobenzene, carbon disulfide, tetraethyl lead, phenol, hydrocyanic acid, furfural, phosgene, ethyl mercaptan, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride.
The additional cartridge is connected with the outer neck to the front part by means of a connecting tube, and a filter-absorbing box is connected to the inner neck located at the bottom of the cartridge.
The DPG-3 kit includes a cartridge, a connecting tube, and a plastic insert. The additional chuck is available with or without connecting tube. The cartridge can be attached to industrial gas masks.
The additional cartridge DPG-3 is intended for completing civil gas masks GP-5, GP-7 and children's gas masks PDF-2D(Sh). The cartridge can be used in all climatic zones. The use of a cartridge without filter-absorbing gas mask boxes is strictly prohibited. The duration of use of the cartridge for its intended purpose in real operating conditions is no more than 60 minutes.
According to the norm for providing employees with personal protective equipment, additional DPG-3 cartridges should be 40% of the number of gas masks
A gas mask complete with DPG-3 provides protection against poisonous substances (S), radioactive dust (RP), biological aerosols (BA), additional protection against chemically hazardous substances (AHOV): ammonia, chlorine, dimethylamine, nitrobenzene, carbon disulfide, tetraethyl lead , phenol, furfural, ethyl mercaptan, etc.
Specifications:
- resistance to a constant air flow at a volume flow rate of 30 cubic dm / min., Pa, not more than 98.1;
— normalized protective action time for ammonia, Co=5.0 mg/dm3, min, not less than 50;
- weight of a gas mask set without a bag, g, not more than 350;
— temperature Range operation, °С, from minus 30 to plus 40;
Modern filtering gas masks by virtue of their design features not able to neutralize carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide) and ammonia. To protect against the harmful effects of these substances, additional cartridges are used for filtering gas masks.
Hopkalite cartridge DP-1 designed to protect the respiratory system from carbon monoxide. The principle of operation of the hopcalite cartridge is based on the catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide) to carbon dioxide (carbon dioxide) at the expense of atmospheric oxygen. It is used for its intended purpose only with the RSh-4 gas mask.
The DP-1 cartridge is a cylindrical box equipped with a desiccant and hopcalite. Silica gel is used as a desiccant, designed to absorb water vapor in order to protect hopcalite from moisture, which loses its properties when wet. The time of the protective action of DP-1 at a positive temperature and performance physical activity average intensity is about 1.5 hours.
With a concentration of carbon monoxide over 1%, with a lack of oxygen in the air (concentration less than 17%) and during fires in enclosed spaces, the hopcalite cartridge is ineffective. In these cases, it is necessary to use insulating gas masks.
Additional cartridge for filtering gas mask DPG-3 is designed to protect against ammonia and dimethylamine, as well as to increase the time of the protective action of the civil gas mask GP-7 from emergency chemically hazardous substances (AHOV)
DPG-3, complete with a gas mask, protects against ammonia, chlorine, dimethylamine, nitrobenzene, hydrogen sulfide, carbon disulfide, hydrocyanic acid, tetraethyl lead, phenol, phosgene, furfural, hydrogen chloride, cyanide chloride and ethyl mercaptan.
Outside air, entering the filter-absorbing box of the gas mask, is preliminarily cleaned of aerosols and hazardous chemical vapors, then enters an additional cartridge, where it is finally cleaned of harmful impurities and is sent through the connecting tube to the undermask space of the front part of the gas mask.
DPG-3 contains one layer of charge - a special absorber.
To protect the mixture from moisture during storage, the necks must be permanently closed: the outer one - with a screw cap with a gasket, the inner one - with a screwed plug.
Cartridge weight - no more than 350g.
In the manufacturer's packaging, cartridges have a warranty period of 10 years.
Preparation for work.
The cartridge before the start of operation must be subjected to an external examination, during which it is necessary to pay attention to Special attention on the:

Industrial-type boxes should be connected to a gas mask helmet-mask instead of a conventional type FPC. The arrows on the boxes indicating the direction of air movement will help to correctly attach the boxes of brands M and CO.
A white vertical bar indicates the presence of an aerosol filter.
The time of the protective action of boxes of industrial type depends on the brand of the box and the concentration of pesticides. If there is a slight smell of foreign substances, it is necessary to replace the box with a new one.
