I decided to create a separate topic on reel players, otherwise the "cassette" topic has already been filled up with offtopic
For all tape recorders, there is enough information on the Web. I will share only my IMHO regarding the devices that I dealt with myself.
The schedule appears to be here.

USSR tape recorders of the first class, which I personally recommend for purchase.
- Rostov-105 Stereo (Ilet-110 Stereo),
- Rostov 105 S-1,
- Rostov MK-112 (012) Stereo,
- Soyuz-110 Stereo,
- Soyuz MK-110 C,
- Soyuz-111 Stereo

All these three-motor tape recorders, with a through channel, are of exactly the same design. The difference is only in manufacturing plants and minor changes in circuitry.
Rostov 105 S-1 very often equipped with amorphous Teac heads, which give a very pleasant soft sound (beginner audiophiles pee with boiling water here). True, they say that these heads were bought cheaply, since it was a rejection from the Teac factory. Whatever the complaints about them, I personally have not heard.
Rostov MK-112 beautiful device, but with absolutely plastic appearance. Although, probably, for an amateur ... Heads, as a rule, were placed 6A (B) 24.510. Glass ferrite. Not the best quality, by the way. It is strongly not recommended to rub them with alcohol, because due to the temperature difference, this very glass begins to crumble cheerfully.
There was more Sanda MK-012 But I don't like her appearance at all. By the way, these tape recorders are still being sold by the manufacturer at a price of 4500 re / piece. Tape recorders are unused, a complete set, yes, and in their original packaging with a factory smell ... Mmmm!)))) But immediately you need to be ready to put your hands on it, because ... Lubrication and replacement of electrolytes. The first minimum to be met.
Also, all devices, except Soyuz-111 (this is a prefix), have a built-in cheerer with a timbre block, which can easily shake Soviet speakers a la Y90.
In repair and operation, all these devices are unpretentious, in the presence of a canister of oil and straight arms.

In the upper class, everything is simple:
- Electronics 004 Stereo
- Olymp MPK-005 S-1
- Olimp 004 Stereo

We can say that these are legends of the domestic tape recorder industry. In terms of tape drive, all three devices are absolutely identical. Yes Yes! Our resourceful engineers copied it from the Revox A700 ...
Olymp MPK 005 S-1... Why do I recommend the C-1 modification? This is a finished version of the previous MPK 005 C. It eliminates all the shortcomings such as dying hitchhiking and HF pickup on the audio path from the indicator. They also threw out the useless pause search system from there and put rubber pads on the bobbin.
Yes! The device has a full auto-reverse with switchable modes.
Olimp 004 Stereo. Superapparatus! In my opinion, the best of the Olympus, except for the lack of a reverse. It was completed with glass pieces 6A(B)24.710. Type domestic monocrystal.
The turkey is beautiful, as in Elka 004, although Pasha () doesn’t like him for some reason
In general, the device is very pleasant both outside and inside. The modular design makes it more maintainable than the same 005. But this is my personal taste.
I had nothing to do with Electronics 004, but now its predecessor, Electronics 003, is under repair. A wonderful tape recorder! After completion

Probably missed something .. I'll remember - I'll definitely add it. Well, comrades will complement.
The beginning, as it is heated, is necessary

Description

Tape recorder Soyuz 110 Stereo

Soyuz 110 stereo - class 1 stereo reel to reel tape recorder using integrated circuits.
Issue since 1986 at the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant.

Designed to record sound with its further playback through an external speaker or headphones.
The tape recorder uses: a three-motor tape drive mechanism with electronic control and automatic tracking of the tape tension in the rewind and working modes, electronic braking of bobbin assemblies, which increases the reliability of the tape recorder and allows to increase the service life of the magnetic tape.
Possibility provided; performing trick recordings by mixing signals from the "Microphone" input and any other input; automatic stop at the end (break) of the tape; control of the level of recording or playback by arrow indicators, as well as overload - by indicators of peak overloads (LED); LED indication of operating modes "Record", "Working stroke", "Pause", "Stop"; automatic shutdown of remote acoustic systems in case of a malfunction of the low-frequency amplifier: the operation of the tape recorder in the "Amplifier" mode; remote control operating modes and automatic search for the required section of the recording using the Evrika remote control, supplied separately.
The presence of separate magnetic heads (recording and playback) makes it possible to listen to the recorded signal directly during recording.
The presence of a four-decade tape consumption counter with a reset button that allows you to find the necessary records and determine the consumption of a magnetic tape.
The kit includes 2 spools (1 with magnetic tape).

Main technical data:

- The speed of pulling the magnetic tape - 19.05 and 9.53 cm / s;
- Frequencies - 30-22000 Hz;
- Detonation coefficient - 0.15%;
- Output sound power - 2x70 W;
- Power consumption - 90 W.

Dimensions: 510x420x234 mm;
Weight: 24 kg.

We hope that given description will help you to learn in more detail the characteristics of this tape recorder produced in the USSR.

The Soyuz-110-stereo stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder was produced by the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant from the 1st quarter of 1986. The tape recorder provides recording of stereophonic phonograms with subsequent playback on external speakers and stereo phones. The model uses: a three-motor LPM with electronic control and automatic tracking of the tape tension in the rewind and stroke modes, electronic braking of the bobbin assemblies. It is possible to: perform stunt recordings; automatic stop at the end of the tape; recording and playback level control by indicators, overload control by indicators of peak overloads; LED indication of operating modes; automatic shutdown of the speakers in the event of a malfunction of the amplifier; work in the Amplifier mode; control of operating modes and automatic search for a record of the remote control (it is not included). Separate heads make it possible to listen to the recorded signal during recording. The presence of a tape consumption counter with a reset button allows you to find records. Comes with two spools, one with magnetic tape. Magnetic tape type A4416-6. Reel number 18 or 22. Tape speed 19.05 and 9.53 cm/s. The maximum recording time is 2x45 and 2x90 minutes. Operating frequency range 30...22000 and 40...16000 Hz. Detonation coefficient ±0.09 and 0.15%. Harmonic coefficient on LV 1%. The relative level of noise and interference in the Z/V channel is -63 dB. Output power: nominal 2x15, maximum 2x70 watts. Power consumption 180 W. The dimensions of the tape recorder are 510x420x234 mm. Weight 24 kg. Since 1990, the plant has been producing the Soyuz MK-110S-1 tape recorder in design, layout and design similar to the Soyuz-110-stereo model, but with higher frequency response.
