"...What was left of her was a pile of ashes, a skull and a left foot in a slipper, completely untouched by the fire."

The scientific world is still trying to unravel one of life’s most mysterious mysteries: why does spontaneous human combustion (SCH) occur? Over the past 100 years, several hundred people have burned to death. Men, women, children were burning. Fat and thin. Sick and healthy.

The flame could begin to devour its victim both in a closed house, and in the fresh air, and while driving a car, and even at the helm of a ship! And, as a rule, if the body burned, the clothes remained untouched. Mystic? Obsession? Or something different? What do pundits think about this?

BURNING - CLEAR. IT'S UNCLEAR - WHY DO THEY BURN?

In 1971 Soviet academician Yakov Zeldovich announced the discovery of miniature "black holes" existing in nature, which he called "otons"(an abbreviation for the phrase "general relativity").

Laboratory experiments carried out by British physicists showed that the oton is a particle the size of an atomic nucleus, but with a mass 40 times greater than an atom. Otons are present in nature like all other microparticles. “Black microholes” exist both in space and in the bowels of the earth.

Scientists believe that SSC can be caused precisely by otons appearing from space or from the bowels of the earth, which, colliding with the human body, interact with the “personal” otons located in it. A thermal explosion occurs, the energy of which is not released, but is absorbed, creating a crematorium in the human body with a huge combustion temperature. Famous modern British physicist Stephen Hawking calculated that small “black holes” emit colossal amounts of energy.

On April 26, 1986, before the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, a glow was first observed directly above the nuclear plant, and then an underground rumble began and a seismic shake occurred. During the study, a very specific rupture in the foundation of the fourth power unit was discovered. And it was a mystery.

Is man a walking reactor?

SOME scientists, both Russian and foreign, believe that in human cells, especially in the structures of his brain, reactions take place that can be called “cold thermonuclear fusion.” With their help, the body not only receives energy, but can also create for itself the necessary chemical elements that it lacks. This idea was expressed by a famous Russian academician, Director of the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences V. Kaznacheev. If this is indeed the case, then we can assume that, as in nuclear power plants, in the human body under certain conditions uncontrolled nuclear reactions may occur.

Major surgeon Professor Gennady Petrakovich also believed that cellular energy is based on thermonuclear reactions. And, as in the operation of any reactor, a failure in the operation of this mechanism is possible - with catastrophic consequences.

The cause of cold plasma combustion is free radicals?

CANDIDATE OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES Anatoly Stekhin, senior researcher at the Research Institute of Ecology and Environmental HygieneRussian Academy of Medical Sciences believes that he has discovered the cause of spontaneous combustion in people. Stekhin is sure that pyrokinesis is cold plasma combustion. Three quarters of a person consists of liquid formations. Free radicals in its molecules are capable of taking energy. This can be either solar energy or biological energy. In exceptional cases, it bursts out in a stream. This is cold plasma combustion. With it, the external body temperature does not exceed 36, and the internal temperature reaches 2000 degrees. Stekhin's theory explains the strange paradox of spontaneous combustion: during cold plasma combustion, even the bones of the legs turn to ash, but the shoes remain untouched by the flame.

Pyrokinesis researchers are interested in two questions: why does spontaneous combustion occur and how does it happen? Probably the theory about the ignition of flammable gases in the human body was the very first. In the USA there is even a whole "Association of Careful Breathers". They claim that they can ignite objects with their breath. The president of this association, Jimmy Borison from Seattle, demonstrated his phenomenal abilities to a commission consisting of reputable physicians. Before the demonstration, the pundits forced him to undress, rinse his mouth and throat and brush his teeth so that the possibility of a hoax was completely excluded. Borison, with his breath, set fire to both the papers on the table of the scientists and the prepared sawdust.

Failures in the biofield or confusion in time?

CURIOUS is the hypothesis proposed Moscow parapsychologist Yuri Malyshev. He explains the combustion of people by changes in the rate of oxidative processes in the human body. Sharp shifts occur in the parameters of its bioenergy field, and oxidative processes under the influence of this field begin to proceed hundreds of times faster. The body cannot withstand such stress and burns out.

Ludwig Schumacher from USA proposed his explanation of spontaneous combustion, linking together the human biofield and the fields external to it that exist in nature. In his opinion, the space around us is saturated with energy radiation unknown to science. When interacting with the energy of a person’s biofield, they can cause a kind of explosion, leading to spontaneous combustion of a living body.

Famous aircraft designer and creator of the theory of the six-dimensional universe, Russian Italian Roberto Bartini back in the 60s, he suggested that the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion is nothing more than traces of movement in time.

Bartini's theory is somewhat supported Japanese scientist Hirachi Ito. He believes that the cause of pyrokinesis is a change in the passage of time in the human body. In its normal state, the body produces and radiates a certain amount of heat into space. If, for some reason, the processes occurring inside the body sharply slow down, and on the surface the speed does not change, then the heat generated does not have time to escape into the space surrounding the person, and he burns out.

Employees of the Cosmonaut Training Center have repeatedly noted strange chronal changes during the rapid rotation of a medical centrifuge: malfunctions of the clock, a slowdown in the physiological reactions of the body. The subject seems to be separated from his body and begins to see himself from the outside. And this effect may well manifest itself not only in laboratory conditions, but also in natural conditions. Chronal disturbances occur in so-called anomalous zones - where there are bends in river channels, underground streams, and faults.

The enemy from a flying saucer?

AMERICAN theorist Gerhard Livingston put forward the theory that the cause of spontaneous combustion is the impact of magnetic storms on humans. Researcher Vladimir Avdeev attributed the deaths of people from SSC to a short circuit in the biofield. The most exotic version was put forward by a Polish anomalist Krzysztof Bzowski: in his opinion, people are being burned by a beam of invisible radiation emitted by hostile “flying saucers”...

However, official science flatly refuses to acknowledge the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion, arguing that there is not enough combustible material in a person to make the process exothermic. Indeed, the total mass of fats, carbohydrates and proteins in a person, when burned, provides less energy than is required for the evaporation of water, of which our body mainly consists.

Depression or rays?

IN HIS book "Enchanting Fire" the researcher John Highmer, having analyzed a number of cases of spontaneous combustion, concluded that its victims most often are lonely people who fall into prostration right before they catch fire. Hymer theorized that psychosomatic distress in people suffering from depression could lead to the release of hydrogen and oxygen from the human body and start a chain reaction of mitochondrial microexplosions.

Another researcher Larry Arnold, opined that the cause of spontaneous combustion may be an unknown subatomic particle called a pyroton emitted by cosmic rays. This particle passes freely through the human body without causing harm (like a neutrino), but sometimes it can touch the nucleus of a cell and lead to a chain reaction that can destroy the human body.

Or maybe it's a "drunk" bacteria?

FRENCH psychiatristJean Millon published a hypothesis about a certain unstudied bacterium contained in the human body. It eats sugar in the blood and produces flammable volatile substances similar to alcohol. According to Monsieur Millon, pyrokinesis is just the combustion of an alcohol-contained organism from an imperceptible, random spark.

There is another theory. Along with electric and magnetic fields, there is also a pyropole (remember how you feel hot with every strong emotional disturbance). Perhaps, like any other field of the earth, it sometimes becomes indignant and gives out a powerful surge of its energy.

A friend burned out - not at all from shame

They started talking about THIS phenomenon in 1951, when on July 2, 67-year-old Mary Reeser was discovered in her apartment in the American city of St. Petersburg in the state of Florida, or rather, what was left of her was a pile of ashes, a skull and absolutely untouched fire left foot in a slipper. Nothing else was damaged in the apartment. Then reports of similar cases began to pour in.

In May 1953, 30-year-old Esther Dublin was found in Los Angeles. The fire burned her and the chair on which Dublin was sitting, but everything else in the house remained unharmed.

In November 1960, on the road to Pike County (Kentucky), five charred male corpses were found in a car, left sitting in loose positions. Investigators noted that there were no signs indicating that the victims had attempted to get out of the car.

In October 1980, in Jacksonville (Florida), a strange incident happened to the American pilot Gina Winchester. She was driving in a car with a friend when she was suddenly engulfed in flames. The companion, who was driving, tried to turn it off, and the car lost control. A moment later, the car crashed into a pole, and the fire that was blazing on Gina went out. The pilot received severe burns, but remained alive.

“I tried for a long time to find a logical explanation,” Winchester told reporters. - I never smoked, the window in the car was closed. Then I remembered the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion...

And only SSC manuscripts do not burn

MEDIEVAL literature meticulously recorded cases of human spontaneous combustion. During the reign of Queen Bona Sforza (15th century), the knight Polonius Vortius died in Poland in front of the eyes of his parents. After drinking two ladles of wine, he was suddenly engulfed in a column of flame. In 1731, Countess Cornelia di Bandi died in the Italian city of Cassino. The servants found in her bedroom only her legs, dressed in stockings, and part of her skull.

In April 1744, in Ipswich (England), the daughter of 60-year-old alcoholic Grice Peta found her dad dead on the floor of the house. According to her, “he burned without fire, like a bundle of firewood.” The old man's clothes were intact!

In Columbus (Ohio) in 1849, the owner of a liquor store, a German by nationality, caught fire and was consumed by flames. This incident was mentioned by Charles Dickens in his novel Bleak House in 1853. He described the death of the hero, an avid drunkard named Crook, from spontaneous combustion. After the release of the novel, the English philosopher and critic George Henry Lewis declared that such a thing was impossible and accused Dickens of ignorance. However, in the preface to the second edition of the book, the writer said that before describing Crook's death, he studied 30 cases of spontaneous combustion of people.

SSC worried not only Charles Dickens, but also many other famous writers of the 19th century. Heartbreaking scenes of spontaneous combustion appeared in the novels of Washington Irving ("The History of New York"), Mark Twain ("Life on the Mississippi"), Herman Melville ("Redburn"), Honoré de Balzac ("Cousin Pons"), Emile Zola ( "Doctor Pascal") And in our Nikolai Gogol’s novel “Dead Souls,” the landowner Korobochka bitterly complained that her blacksmith “himself” burned down.

ARGUMENTS OF THE CLASSICS

“- No, mother, a different kind of merchant: tell me, did your peasants die?

“Oh, father, eighteen people,” said the old woman, sighing. - ...Last week my blacksmith burned down; he was such a skilled blacksmith and knew metalworking skills.

Did you have a fire, mother?

God saved us from such a disaster; a fire would have been even worse; I burned myself, my father. Somehow his insides were on fire, he drank too much, only a blue light came from him, he was all decayed, decayed and blackened like coal, and he was such a skilled blacksmith!

It’s all God’s will, mother!”

Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol, "Dead Souls"

The OGPU dealt with the “self-igniting”

IN THE AUTUMN of 1924, the OGPU investigated a series of strange incidents in Moscow, combined into the “Case of the Self-ignited.” Three cases of spontaneous combustion of people were recorded in the city. One - in the "New Proletarian Theater of the Moon", located on Polyanka in the building of a former church. During a rehearsal, the actor caught fire and died. During the investigation, strange objects were found in the theater, reminiscent of attributes for some kind of ritual. They explained to the security officers: this is a prop. But there was also something that can hardly be called a prop: a map of the western hemisphere of the earth with incomprehensible marks - the moon in the crescent phase, the full moon, some icons. Some of the badges were from Soviet Russia. Gorki, located near Moscow, was also marked - the place where Lenin lived recently. Because of this card, Lubyanka became interested in the “self-igniting” ones: is this about a spy conspiracy? Maybe this is a scheme of a secret organization?

The “case of the self-ignited” was controlled by the head of the Special Branch of the OGPU, Gleb Bokiy. He was interested in unexplained phenomena. Bokiy considered them worthy of special study.

In 1924, he turned for advice to another major security officer, Yakov Peters: they say that in 1909 there were two similar cases in England? (Peters lived in England in pre-revolutionary emigration.) He answered: I remember the fuss, but it didn’t bother me much.

In 1937, Peters was arrested. One of the charges was obstruction of the exposure of a “spy organization” - the investigator showed him the same map from the “New Theater of the Moon”. Peters replied: it was compiled by some “crazy spiritualist.” “Spirit,” Peters recalled, said something about the “energy of will” that had left Lenin and now had to be taken by “another person.” Some “guardians,” having enclosed Lenin’s “energy of will” within themselves, as if in “capsules,” were supposed to transfer it to each other until “another person”—a new dictator—appears. After the transfer, the empty “capsule” allegedly burned out. Peters thought this was nonsense.

Men burn better and more often than women

SPONTANEOUS spontaneous combustion in humans is a phenomenon often described as Paranormal Activity, as a result of which a person can ignite while being away from the source of fire. SSC is the subject of numerous rumors and controversies. There is still no precise physical evidence of the existence of this phenomenon.

Scientists analyzed dozens of cases of spontaneous combustion and compiled detailed characteristics of this phenomenon. In almost all cases, three main features were present. The first is the incredible speed of spread. The person was charred or turned into a mountain of ash in a matter of seconds. The second is the very high temperature of the flame: the remains were often even melted. And the third is the amazing localization of the source of ignition: the fire destroys only individual parts of the body, and if a person burns completely, his clothes remain untouched.

Legs burned, socks left

ONE of the last cases of SSS in Russia occurred in Tomilino near Moscow (April 2004) with 25-year-old Vladimir Yakovlev. He accompanied his girlfriend. Having said goodbye to his beloved, the young man got into the elevator. And it started to burn. The moment the doors opened, and people were crowding on the first floor, Yakovlev rapidly melted. The young man's body burned with invisible fire, and his clothes remained untouched. Yakovlev was taken to the Ukhtomsky hospital, and then to the burn center named after. Vishnevsky. A few days later the young man died. His legs were hit the hardest. In the hospital he could not utter a word. Didn't answer questions. Investigators considered the only official assumption about the cause of death... exposure to acid. But there is no evidence of this. Witnesses saw no one in the elevator except the victim.

This is unlikely to be acid, says a doctor from the hospital. Ukhtomsky Mikhail Pavlov. - After all, if they had doused him, it would have corroded his clothes, and then his body. But here it’s the other way around. My feet were burned, but my socks and shoes were not damaged at all.

Who burned Shlyadinsky's palms?

Alexander Shlyadinsky, a man fighting a poltergeist - a “noisy spirit” that moves into some apartments, is known from numerous publications in the media. Somehow Shlyadinsky ended up in a hospital bed in the burn department of the Institute. Sklifosovsky. It turns out that he tried to survive a fiery poltergeist from one “bad” Moscow apartment. But Shlyadinsky had a strange dream. It was as if he found himself in a cemetery. There was someone waiting for him, dressed all in black. The black man spent a long time convincing Shlyadinsky to quit the business he had started and leave the “bad” apartment. At first he asked, then he began to threaten with “fiery revenge.” Shlyadinsky became stubborn. A few days later, his hands caught fire right on the street. Shlyadinsky was brought to the clinic with severe burns to his hands. Doctors amputated several of his fingers and transplanted a flap of skin on his back.

When will the mystery of the SSC be solved? And will it happen? And if the theory developed by Yakov Zeldovich, British physicists and Stephen Hawking is correct, then it is theoretically possible to calculate the trajectories of small “black holes”. And put them at the service of humanity: if you accurately determine the trajectory of at least one oton with its huge amount of energy, then you can try to build an otonic power plant. Bright minds talk about this.

Something from the realm of fantasy? But heated scientific debates about the possibility of using atomic energy began long before the advent of both the atomic bomb and the nuclear power plant.

Fire is the most mysterious of the four elements, beyond our understanding. With its mystery, fire evokes a certain awe in anyone who observes it. Fire frightens and attracts, it contains routine and the unknown, it supports life and can take it away.

The mystique of fire

Since ancient times, fire has been a faithful assistant in everyday life, supporting life and warming homes with its warmth. If you are careful, it will never harm you. However, there are also accidents that have nothing to do with a violation of safety regulations - spontaneous combustion.

Spontaneous human combustion is the random occurrence of a combustion reaction, the causes of which cannot be determined.

This phenomenon is not a figment of someone’s imagination, but real cases that occurred before the eyes of hundreds of people. Since the human body is 2/3 water, it seems incredible where so much energy comes from to ignite such a non-combustible material. For example, when cremating a body, it must be burned at a temperature of 2000 degrees for four hours, and then unburnt parts of the skeleton may remain.

As we know from school physics lessons, fire is the main phase of the combustion process. For a flame to occur, three components are needed:

1. Fuel is a flammable substance.
2. Oxygen is an oxidizing agent that allows fuel to burn.
3. High temperature.

When does it occur spontaneous combustion, the human body turns to ashes in a matter of seconds. The strangest thing is that in such cases other flammable items remain untouched - clothing, paper, bedding. How to explain this?

Causes of spontaneous combustion in humans

Scientists distinguish two types of spontaneous combustion - transformation into ash and sintering into a homogeneous mass. In the first case, the body temperature reaches 3000 degrees - where this temperature comes from still remains a mystery. In the second case, a person has a chance to survive, but these are rather rare exceptions.

It happens that some part of the body remains untouched by fire, and this causes confusion about the cause of spontaneous combustion. Researchers of the phenomenon associate this phenomenon with the moral state of the victim - severe stress, fear, guilt or anger.

Another version is that a person is somehow struck by ball lightning, which burns the body from the inside. But these are hypotheses rather than conclusions based on facts. When spontaneous combustion occurs, they prefer to present it as an accident so as not to alarm society.

For a long time it was believed that spontaneous combustion occurs from excess alcohol in the blood. But this opinion was refuted after numerous experiments. The theory of a “living candle”—when a person supposedly becomes a “wick” in his clothes—remains in doubt. Another assumption: as a result of a biochemical reaction, the body begins to produce acetone, a very flammable element, and the spark from which spontaneous combustion occurs is provided by ordinary static electricity.

Currently the main version causes of spontaneous combustion in humans- sharp self-acceleration of chemical reactions in the body. But no one understands what causes it. There are cases where a fire occurred in a completely ordinary situation, in a room where many other people were present in the same environment. And this phenomenon did not affect them. This is where the opinion arose that fire has a punitive function and is sent to a person for his secret vices.

Spontaneous human combustion - retribution for sins?

Even ancient people worshiped the god of fire. Fire itself as a phenomenon is repeatedly described in the mythology of all countries. Various deities are identified with fire - Hephaestus, Prometheus. In Christianity, fire is usually associated with hell and Satan, but there is also the Holy Fire sent by the Lord.

People who experienced spontaneous combustion share a number of common factors:

  • The body ignites without external influence and without contact with open fire.
  • The body burns much faster than with arson, and burns almost to ashes.
  • The limbs most often remain intact.
  • This usually happens in a confined space, in a small room.
  • The majority of victims of this phenomenon are men.
  • All victims are over 50 years old.
  • Anyone who experiences spontaneous combustion does not suspect anything and does not feel the combustion process itself.

Since this phenomenon occurs exclusively with people, and spontaneous combustion of animals or birds has not been recorded, a logical question arises - what if the cause is in humans? After all, if we consider spontaneous combustion only as a chemical process, then why can’t, for example, a horse, pig or monkey ignite?

Paranormal researchers are trying to find an explanation for this fact, giving a not entirely scientific explanation for the phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion. There is a hypothesis that human thought itself can cause a “short circuit” inside the body, starting a chain reaction and destroying the body from the inside.

If we remember the Old Testament, then when creating the world, the Creator gave animals only a “spirit” (to support life processes), and a “soul” (consciousness) to man. Therefore, there is an opinion that in a critical situation a person’s internal energy comes into conflict with some experience or fear, which triggers the process of a chemical reaction, the consequence of which is spontaneous combustion.

The phenomenon of spontaneous combustion in cinema and literature

The topic of spontaneous human combustion is by no means new and was mentioned in the literature of the 19th century: Washington Irving (“History of New York”), Thomas De Quincey (“Confession of an Opium Smoker”), Mark Twain (“Life on the Mississippi”), Emile Zola (“ Doctor Pascal"). In Gogol's novel Dead Souls, the landowner Korobochka complained that her “excellent blacksmith burned out on his own.”

Since this phenomenon has not been studied, it has given rise to many speculations and assumptions. And this, in turn, found a response in modern science fiction, the authors of which have repeatedly played up the situation with spontaneous human combustion to create spectacular cinema.

To make the film as effective as possible, the characters are endowed with all sorts of abilities that bring death and destruction.

Spontaneous combustion and other actions with fire have become an excellent theme for creating spectacular special effects, and with the help of computer graphics everything looks very realistic and frightening. Most often we are talking about such a property as pyrokinesis- the ability of a person to set fire to himself or any foreign object using the power of thought.

Characters in Hollywood films (Carrie, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider) became famous precisely because of their ability to control fire. But it’s worth thinking about how the world would change if people had such abilities in real life?

Pyrokinesis as a phenomenon, and can it be learned?

The desire to learn pyrokinesis is by no means uncommon in the modern world. The Internet is replete with exciting stories of people who have completed so-called fire magic courses and learned to “command fire.” The authors of such programs have developed entire teaching methods, a set of exercises for training thoughts around the fire, and so on. But in reality, these are clever scammers whose goal is to “cheat” naive science fiction fans out of money.

The scheme of work is as follows. The super-scientific Master promises to teach pyrokinesis or another property from among the paranormal phenomena. For its services, it requires an advance payment in advance, supposedly for the purchase of materials for training. After the money is transferred, he disappears from your sight, and it is no longer possible to find him.

Fraudsters cleverly exploit people's desire to rise above others by gaining the powerful ability to control fire. What motivates these people? “If I master fire control techniques and go rob a bank, who will do what to me?”

Trying to practice at home, would-be students violate fire safety regulations and expose themselves to unnecessary risks. It is not without reason that some researchers believe that spontaneous combustion has no mystical reasons, these are just the consequences of unlucky pyrotechnicians playing with fire.

Of course, it’s a pity for people who fall for such tricks. But before you go in search of masters of such techniques, it would be useful to remember the Holy Scriptures. No magical ritual has the right to demand “fire from nowhere” from the Almighty. Performing miracles upon the appearance of fire is an exclusively divine privilege that cannot be asked or demanded, but can only be waited with humility, as happens on the eve of the Resurrection of Christ.

To summarize, we can say the following. Spontaneous combustion remains an unexplored phenomenon to this day, and learning the technique of causing fire is sinful and dangerous. Let us use fire for our own good, and not for the evil of others, and it will never harm us.

If you are interested in news about the study of the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion, we recommend watching this video.

The Great Esoteric Directory describes the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion (combustion) of people:

“Human fires are spontaneous combustion of people. Many inexplicable cases of this phenomenon have been recorded, including near places of frequent UFO sightings.

For example, in October 1990, near the Blue Mountain, 40 km from the city of Zhirnovsk, Vologda Region (Russia), a shepherd suddenly burned to death in the presence of his partner.

The mysterious selectivity of the flame, engulfing a person’s body but not affecting his clothing, as well as the strange submission of victims who do not try to escape are noted. It is believed that this is due to sudden changes in the intensity of the natural magnetic field. The fire that occurs during sudden spontaneous combustion of a person is a kind of molecular or chemical disintegration with the release of thermal energy.”

Material from Wikipedia - the free encyclopedia:

“Spontaneous human combustion (shc) is a rare phenomenon, often described as a paranormal phenomenon, in which a person can combust without a visible external source of fire.

The most detailed evidence of human spontaneous combustion begins to appear in the 18th century. In 1731, under unclear circumstances, Countess Cornelia di Bandi died in the Italian city of Cesena: her legs, dressed in stockings, and part of her skull were found in her bedroom.

In April 1744, in Ipswich (England), the daughter of 60-year-old alcoholic Grice Peta found her father dead on the floor of the house: in her words, “he burned without fire, like a bundle of firewood.” The old man's clothes were practically intact.

The first most reliable evidence of cases of human spontaneous combustion dates back to 1763, when the Frenchman John Dupont published a book with a collection of cases of human spontaneous combustion entitled "de incendiis corporis humani spontaneis".

In it, among other things, he mentions the case of Nicolas Millet, who was acquitted of murdering his wife when the court was convinced that she died as a result of spontaneous combustion. Millet's wife, a hard-drinking Parisian, was discovered in her home with only a pile of ashes, a skull and finger bones left. The straw mattress on which she was found was only slightly damaged.

Around 1853, a German liquor store owner caught fire and was consumed by flames in Columbus, Ohio. This incident was mentioned by Charles Dickens in the preface to the second edition of his novel Bleak House, in which he described a fictional case of human spontaneous combustion. In 1861, the literary critic and philosopher George Henry Lewis published his correspondence with Dickens, in which he accused the writer of spreading fables:

“In these notes they usually write that what remains from the human body is greasy soot and some remains of bones. Everyone knows that this cannot happen.”

In 1870, an article entitled “On Spontaneous Combustion” was published by an associate professor of forensic medicine at the University of Aberdeen. In it, he wrote that he had found about 54 modern scientists who had ever written about human spontaneous combustion, of which 35 clearly expressed their opinion about this phenomenon.

Five (including Justus Liebig) argued that spontaneous combustion was impossible and that all documented cases were hoaxes.
Three (including Guillaume Dupuytren) believed that cases of spontaneous combustion were real, but had a different nature, namely: there was some kind of external source of fire.
Twenty-seven scientists (including Devergie and Orfil) insisted that spontaneous combustion of the human body was quite possible.

Attitude of science

Spontaneous human combustion is the subject of numerous rumors and disputes. There is still no evidence of the existence of this phenomenon, and its very possibility is today rejected by most scientists.
There are two main hypotheses to explain cases of human spontaneous combustion, both of which involve an external source of fire: the Human Candle Hypothesis and ignition from static electricity or ball lightning.

Although, from a chemical point of view, the human body contains sufficient energy stored in the form of fat deposits, under normal circumstances a person cannot spontaneously combust due to the high water content (about 70%), which would require too much energy to evaporate.

Characteristics of spontaneous combustion cases:

All cases, which are usually called human spontaneous combustion, have a number of distinctive characteristics:

The victim's body bursts into flames without any visible external source of fire.

The human body burns much more thoroughly during spontaneous combustion than during normal combustion. The damage, however, is unevenly distributed throughout the body: sometimes the entire skull and, less commonly, limbs remain.

Most cases of human spontaneous combustion occur in enclosed spaces, although this may only be a consequence of an incomplete sample of spontaneous combustion cases.

The combustion temperature of a body in the event of spontaneous combustion is much higher than that used in crematoria. In order for human bones to turn to ash, temperatures above 1700°C are required, while crematoria use temperatures of around 1100°C and require crushing the bones to completely burn the corpse. Even if a person’s body is doused with gasoline and set on fire, it will not be able to burn completely: the fire will stop immediately after the liquid fuel runs out: the human body contains too large a proportion of water, which will extinguish the flame.

When spontaneous combustion occurs, the flames are very small, but exposure to hot air can damage nearby objects: for example, a TV screen can burst.

Suspected victims of spontaneous combustion are more likely to be men than women.
In most cases, the intended victims are elderly people.
The alleged victims don't feel like they're burning. In some cases, it was found that the victims died of a heart attack.”

Vladimir.

The phenomenon of “spontaneous combustion” is extremely rare in our lives, but it still happens. It's connected with inadequate reactions of the cells of the physical body to cosmic energies.

Changes occur in some cells gradually, the process does not last one day. The physical body does not react to these changes. The atomic structure changes. The process is no longer controlled by either the mind or the Soul.

In this case, what ultimately happens is a reaction similar to a nuclear explosion in a cell, releasing a huge amount of light, heat and energy.

More often, With lightning speed, a person’s body turns into ashes, for no apparent reason. Moreover, there are often cases when the clothes of a person who instantly caught fire and burned remain intact and undamaged.
The process happens so quickly that synthetic material, for example, does not have time to be damaged.

I'll say right away that spontaneous combustion has nothing to do with ascension. And this is also not connected with any diseases of the physical body. Then what is it?

This is the development of one of the experiences of transition to the Subtle World. Naturally, all this happens with the permission of the human Soul, usually when bodily life comes to an end. This option is included in the implementation contract at the stage of preparation for implementation.

What is special about this care option?

With instant combustion, with the formation of ash from the body, the Soul quickly goes into the higher Subtle layers. There is no connecting link (dead body) temporarily holding the Soul in near-earth space.
The energy released during such a fire helps to make a “leap”.

As a rule, Souls who have made the transition in this way will no longer incarnate on Earth. But, I repeat, this is a very rare transition path.

This option is not universally applicable. This is due to the fact that Our task is to transform bodies, not to burn them. The transformation experience is more important!

In conclusion, I want to say this. Experiences of transition as a result of spontaneous combustion of the physical body are practically over in the 21st century. It’s just that this experience is no longer in demand, because now there is a massive transformation of bodies.

With Love, Vladimir.

Spontaneous human combustion is an amazing mystery that has puzzled scientists for several millennia. There is no point in arguing about its existence - real facts of spontaneous combustion are known. Let's try to figure out this paranormal phenomenon together.

Spontaneous human combustion- this is the instantaneous ignition of the body without any external influence, that is, there are completely no signs of fire or fire. Typically, people are burned down to their limbs so that they are completely unrecognizable. Interestingly, with this phenomenon, only one body burns, since clothing and nearby objects remain completely untouched.

Known cases

In total, more than a hundred cases of spontaneous combustion are known to date. The first mention of spontaneous combustion in humans is associated with Polonus Vorstius. He was an ordinary Italian knight of the late 1400s. The young man loved wine, women and songs. He drank a large amount of wine at night. They say that it immediately ignited and then burst into flames. People were confused as to how this happened. However, there is an opinion that it was the huge amount of wine that caused such an unusual death.

There is only one case of spontaneous combustion with a witness present. A disabled woman lived with her father, who took care of her. One day he saw a flash from the corner. Suddenly the man discovered that his daughter was on fire. Despite the fire, the woman continued to sit quietly in the chair, without reacting or giving any signs that she was in unbearable pain. Attempts to put out the fire left the man with burnt hands. The woman died.

In December 2010, Michael Faherty died in his bedroom in County Galway, Ireland. The man's body was completely burned. This death was officially registered as “spontaneous combustion.” The doctor, Kieran McLaughlin, when examining the death, noted: “I carefully examined the causes of the fire and the origin of the fire. This death clearly relates to the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion of a person, for which there is no adequate explanation.”

Despite the fact that there are no statistical reports on this phenomenon, it is still possible to draw certain conclusions regarding the victims:

  • Most of the victims were female
  • Many victims are known to be alcoholics
  • Many victims were overweight
  • Hands and feet did not succumb to fire
  • After the body burned, there was a greasy sticky ash and a strong disgusting smell.
  • At the time of spontaneous combustion, most victims were alone and indoors

This phenomenon is still an unsolved mystery for scientists. There are a huge number of conflicting theories and explanations for such a unique phenomenon. However, the following 2 theories are the most popular among the scientific community.

Wick effect theory

If you believe this theory, then the human body can be imagined in the form of a candle. The candle itself is a wax cylinder with an internal wick. Thus, people can ignite even from a minor external source. Even a simple lit cigarette can become a fire starter. At the same time, people themselves burn out from the inside.

The fatty deposits of the human body act as wax, and clothing or hair act as a wick. At high temperatures, fat melts, penetrates into clothing and slowly burns out from the inside like a candle. It is because of this that the combustion process itself occurs slowly inside a person, without causing any damage to surrounding things.

Internal combustion

Adherents of this theory are convinced that the body is ignited from the inside with the help of the malfunction itself. Presumably, we are talking about sudden mitochondrial dysfunction, which is responsible for energy production in cells. Hydrogen, carbon and oxygen in the body are released and an extremely violent reaction occurs (due to pressure and temperature).

Which of these hypotheses is true and whether at least one of them is true is a huge unanswered question. And for a long time we will not be able to find out the answer to this phenomenon. One thing is obvious - spontaneous combustion exists and almost everyone can encounter it in their life.

This phenomenon is often abbreviated NNE. According to serious researchers, this is one of the most controversial paranormal phenomena. Most people (including many paranormal experts) doubt its reality. Those who recognize SSV struggle to find a satisfactory explanation for it. But the phenomenon has spawned many horror stories, both true and fictional, and has become extremely popular over the last century, despite its terrifying nature.

The term " spontaneous combustion" describes the phenomenon in which the human body is suddenly engulfed in flames without an obvious external source of ignition. Spontaneous combustion is rare and usually fatal, so direct observation has yielded little. But in those few cases where people were able to survive or there were eyewitnesses to the accident, the source of the fire is sometimes reported to be a bluish flame escaping from the abdominal area.

But usually the phenomenon of SSV can only be assumed based on the burnt remains of the body. It seems likely that the person in the room is engulfed by a powerful but inexplicably localized fire. It destroys a person, but for some reason in many cases leaves the legs intact - feet or legs, on which clothing may even be preserved. And from all other parts of the body, even from the bones, only ashes remain. Therefore, a post-mortem autopsy turns out to be practically impossible.

Besides the horribly mutilated remains, the sight of which shocks even the hardened firefighters and police officers called to the scene, there is another reason why this strange fire is causing suspicion. Objects surrounding the corpse, including flammable materials (sofas or curtains), usually remain intact, except for scorch marks. This is puzzling to experts who have repeatedly observed the effects of death from fire, when the surrounding environment usually burned completely. Trying to somehow explain the nature of this phenomenon, they are forced to resort to the SSV hypothesis.

Fortunately, SWV appears to be an extremely rare phenomenon. Very few firefighters and police officers have had to deal with such incidents. The rarity of this phenomenon contributes to the general mistrust of it, but does not exclude the possibility of research. Given the terrifying nature and potentially enormous power of the SSV phenomenon, it deserves attention and scientific interest.

From the history of the phenomenon

Although historical records almost certainly describe earlier cases, this is the first known example of a phenomenon that can be classified as spontaneous combustion, dates from June 1613. It happened in the village of Christchurch in Dorset. Waking up during a fierce thunderstorm with lightning, a woman found her son-in-law and little granddaughter burned to death in their bed. One might assume that they died from lightning, or rather from ball lightning. However, the man's body continued to burn even after he was taken out of the room, and this continued for three days until the corpse was burned to ashes.

A more typical example is an incident that occurred in Cesina (Italy) in 1731, when an aristocratic woman went to bed feeling “depressed and heavy.” The next morning her remains were found by her bed. All that remains of her are her legs from feet to knees, three fingers and part of her skull. The rest turned to ash. A thick, foul-smelling layer of soot covered the windows and other parts of the room, and an oily yellow liquid ran down the glass. But there was almost no fire damage around the body. The bed was virtually untouched by the flames, and it appeared as if the victim had just gotten out of bed and was standing when the accident occurred. Investigations into later cases also revealed a yellow oily substance and black soot that forensics determined were products of the body burning. Yellow butter is melted human fat that condenses on a colder surface, such as a window pane.

Although most cases of SWS occur indoors, other examples are known. The first reliable case of this kind was reported in the Boston Journal of Medicine and Surgery by a practicing physician, Dr. B.H. Hartwell. This happened in Ayer (Massachusetts) on May 12, 1890. Dr. Hartwell was called into an open field by a boy screaming that his mother was on fire. The doctor found a woman engulfed in flames from her abdomen to her lower back. Her bones were already exposed and also burning, so it was too late to think about saving her. The fire was put down by covering the body with earth to stop the supply of oxygen. Despite the extreme heat, the hat, leaves and other objects on the ground next to the burnt woman remained intact. There was no apparent cause of the fire.

Other similar cases led to the belief in the Victorian era spontaneous combustion got stronger. Christian fundamentalists began to fanatically defend the theory that the cause of this phenomenon could be excess alcohol in the body, since it is extremely flammable. Thus, SSV began to be perceived as “heavenly fire” that strikes a drunkard for excesses.

For the next fifty years, the SSV remained an uninvestigated mystery that almost no one was willing to discuss, given its nature. There was something of a silent conspiracy among investigators, doctors, firefighters, and forensic experts, whereby mysterious cases that could serve as examples of SSV were simply ignored because the very idea of spontaneous combustion was considered ridiculous.

But then, on July 1, 1951, sixty-seven-year-old Mary Reaser died in St. Petersburg, Florida. This was the first case of SSV to attract media attention. The woman was seen alive the night before, and only a few hours later only a few pieces of bones and one intact foot were discovered. Everything else burned to the ground, although the woman’s apartment remained almost completely intact.

Mary Reeser's son was a doctor. Police investigators were unable to determine the cause of her death. I had to contact the FBI. FBI agents thoroughly examined the scene, but were also unable to find any natural explanation for the tragedy. Photographic evidence of the aftermath of a supposed SED became available to the general public for the first time, and in subsequent years, paranormal investigators often cited Mary Reeser's famous example.

Since 1951, other stories about SSV have appeared in the press from time to time, but most people still tried to avoid the topic. A collection of stories, which retold old cases and mentioned only a few new ones, was published in the seventies and until 1993 remained the only book on the subject of SSV. So far, there has not been a single serious systematic study on this topic.

Wick or candle effect

Fire expert Dr. Douglas Drysdale of the University of Edinburgh and several other scientists proposed a theory that became known as the “wick effect” or “candle effect.”

The human body can be considered as a kind of candle. Bones are the equivalent of a wick; human fat surrounds them just as the tallow of a candle surrounds the wick. If there is a source of ignition - for example, when a person during a heart attack drops a cigarette on his clothing - then a fire can break out. If for some reason the victim does not put out the fire (for example, if the person is drunk or already dead), then the flames will begin to grow. If a person is alone in a room for many hours, the gradual combustion process will slowly turn bones into ash and human fat will melt away. In fact, the body will burn in the furnace that it itself is. In the absence of a channel that removes the radiated heat outside, the victim’s body will be the first to suffer from the fire.

This theory looks plausible. After the BBC broadcast a documentary in April 1989 that confirmed this rational hypothesis, SSV almost ceased to be considered a paranormal phenomenon. However, recent events suggest that such a conclusion may be premature.

Is the “candle theory” valid?

On December 28, 1987, a man was found in the kitchen of his flat in Folkestone, Kent. More precisely, one foot and a sneaker were found, and the rest of the body turned to ashes, although there were almost no traces of fire in the room. The BBC film included photographs of the scene and concluded that the incident was a classic example of the candle effect. The police officer told the filmmakers that all other versions - in particular murder - had been ruled out. As a result, the following scenario emerged.

The victim was found near a lit kitchen stove. It was assumed that the deceased had a heart attack, fell on the stove, ignited and slowly burned. Fifteen hours elapsed between the time he was last seen alive and the discovery of his remains, and the candle effect takes time to manifest itself.

However, a police officer involved in the investigation said that there were some difficulties in the case that had not yet been resolved. There is medical evidence that the victim was alive when the fire was already burning. But the most serious testimony was from the man who first entered the kitchen, discovered the remains and called the police. He saw the stove burner lit. And on it is a kettle half full of water. Since there were no signs of a break-in, the deceased lived alone, it follows that he himself put the kettle on the stove. It would be impossible to do this the night before and then slowly burn for many hours: during this time the water would completely boil away, and the burning gas would have time to burn a hole in the bottom of the kettle. Therefore, the man was likely alive for an hour or so before the remains were discovered. Thus, the “candle effect” is excluded: it takes too much time.

Such cases show that spontaneous combustion it is still possible, provided that a scientifically acceptable mechanism is discovered through which this process could develop. Currently, several scientists are developing several theories that can explain this phenomenon.

Hypotheses

Chemists claim that some dangerous mixture of foods in our diet can cause a spontaneous chain reaction within the digestive system. It is possible that excess flammable gases or self-igniting, heat-generating foods that slowly burn the insides. This explains both the fact that it is extremely difficult to extinguish the fire in cases of SWS, and the fact that the source of the fire is localized in the abdominal cavity. The problem is to find a chemical reaction that is practical and natural, but that is rare enough to occur only under special circumstances.

Another group of theories is based on the assumption that the “trigger” of SSV is electricity. Some people can accumulate a lot of static electricity, and may even spark a spark when they come into contact with other people. Research by Dr Michael Shallice from the University of Oxford suggests there may be a link to diet. Some SSW researchers argue that people living alone in a room with little metal cannot naturally release this accumulated energy. If the charge accumulates for many days in a row, chemicals in the body can begin to decompose into their constituent elements through electrolysis or ionization. This theory has not yet been confirmed, but it may explain one feature: in many cases, the victims of this phenomenon were elderly people who were unable to leave the house.

The most modern theories are based on the idea of releasing nuclear energy within the body. The idea is that ball lightning can form inside the human body, which has a large supply of nuclear energy concentrated in a small volume. This incredible energy is then released, causing an explosive thermal reaction that quickly destroys the body. Although this theory seems controversial, it explains another mysterious circumstance: in a number of cases, the phenomenon of SWE was accompanied by an electrical thunderstorm or small luminous balls.

In June 1993, German scientists from the Heligoland Biological Institute, Dieter Glindemann and Günter Gassmann, reported in the scientific press that they had discovered phosphane gas inside the digestive system of cattle. It is a highly flammable gas that is believed to produce "will-o'-the-wisps" - moving blobs of burning gas that have in the past been mistaken for fairies, spirits, and, more recently, UFOs.

Based on these data, German scientists suggested and proved that even higher levels of gas concentrations are possible in the human body. It also turned out that vegetarians have much lower levels. SWS researchers hypothesized that the cause of inflammation in the digestive system may be a chemical reaction involving the formation of phosphane in the intestines. If such a process could be replicated, it would become clear why most reports of SWS occur in Western countries, and why the phenomenon of SSV is also extremely rare in regions of the world where phosphane is rarely found in food products.

Another important key to the mystery of spontaneous combustion, may have appeared in February 1994, when a woman was admitted to California's Riverside Hospital in the final stages of chronic cancer, with cell degeneration beginning. Before she died, everyone on the medical team was experiencing end-stage symptoms ranging from mild nausea and dizziness to inability to move. They had to be on duty in the hospital for many weeks. According to them, a strong ammonia odor emanated from the dying woman, and her blood was half crystallized.

The situation was so serious that extraordinary measures had to be taken, including the evacuation of hospital patients and the construction of a special sealed room for the autopsy, which was carried out by doctors in radiation-protective suits. Radiation contamination was suspected, but this did not happen. No medical explanation could be found, and the official report stated that the medical team was subjected to mass hysteria with psychosomatic symptoms. The members of the brigade resolutely denied this point of view, and it really did not correspond much to the facts.

While fighting the charge, which also alleged that doctors had failed to provide adequate care for the dying woman, members of the team turned to chemical researchers for help. They were looking for evidence that the interaction of natural foods with human blood could lead to an abnormal chain reaction. This complex process in the dying woman's body could have produced toxic chemicals that were released when the on-duty team took blood samples for analysis.

This theory has not yet been confirmed, but if it received evidence, it would explain the reason for similar processes that serve as an impetus for SSV. At least, possibility of spontaneous combustion would become acceptable in the eyes of many skeptical scientists who still consider cases of mysterious death by fire to be nothing more than a myth.

What to do?

Chances of directly encountering spontaneous combustion small. In a small country such as the UK, there are potentially only two to five such cases per year, and worldwide no more than fifty cases per year. The likelihood of an EWS happening to someone you know is much less likely than, say, being struck by lightning. And even if the SNE happens somewhere in the neighborhood, you are unlikely to be able to witness it. You will almost certainly only face the consequences of this phenomenon.

However, what can be done in such a situation? A few eyewitnesses of recorded cases of SWS claim that the flame that has engulfed a person can be extinguished, but with great difficulty. The most effective method is to block the access of oxygen, to cover the area of fire with something, which, apparently, is small and concentrated in the area of the diaphragm. Attempts to douse the flame with water will not be as effective. Some researchers claim that in SWS, body tissues are broken down into their constituent gases by exposure to electricity from an unknown source. Since 70% of the human body consists of water, it is clear that water will not extinguish the flame that arises from the electrolysis of water in the body with the release of hydrogen and oxygen: adding water can only increase the supply of “fuel”.
